#What would be the best application to use for ripping games to USBLoaderGX?

Thats pretty much it unless you can use Wii Backup Manager instead for software
Format your USB drive: The drive should be 2tb or smaller, formatted to MBR and have a single primary FAT32 partition with 32kb (32768) or 64kb (65536) cluster/allocation unit size. Double check the partition style is MBR: https://www.howtogeek.com/245610/how-to-check-if-a-disk-uses-gpt-or-mbr-and-how-to-convert-between-the-two/
Drive is 64gb or less: Format it to FAT32 with 32kb (32,768 bytes) cluster / allocation unit size. Drive is larger than 64gb: Format it to FAT32 with 64kb (65,536 bytes) cluster / allocation unit size. If the drive is larger than 32GB, you will need third party software like GUIFormat or Wii Backup Manager to format your drive to FAT32 Wii Backup Manager: https://wii.guide/wiibackupmanager GUIFormat: http://ridgecrop.co.uk/index.htm?guiformat.htm
Are you on Mac?
Yes, i do also have a windows computer
You should probably use the windows computer for homebrew related things. It will just be easier
You can do almost everything on Mac, but you can do 100% of everything on windows
Or use the Mac with a VM depending on what chip its running
Since you have a PC with a install though youd be better off using it instead
No need for a VM if they have windows.
Hence this
Then again you said it already so
USB loader gx itself is able to rip games
and they will appear automatically once done
so it does everything for you when talking about the file format and the file structure
Yeah but it’s not very good. Sometimes it will just dump the game and throw whatever it can into the dump whether the game will work or not. Which is why we recommend using cleanrip
If I use CleanRip, do I leave the files be there or organise them into folders?
Cleanrip, if you dump to a FAT32 device, splits the iso image into 2, in which you would have to combine them on a PC and then transfer using Wii backup manager back to the USB
@proper mulch Do I have to put these games in folders with the Game ID?
Wii backup manager does all of that for you
one thing you cannot do is get just dance and guitar hero dlc
The riiconnect24 patcher is available on Mac
You can’t make themes and you can’t use modmii
but its a different version
and im pretty sure you cant make a riitag
It doesn’t have wad2bin?
Yes you can
no it does not
its on web iirc
you cant launch wad2bin in any way
I'm trying to use CleanRip with a 1TB WD My Passport hard drive formatted as FAT32 but every time I try to use the USB with FAT CleanRip fails with Error 00000000. USBLoaderGX dosen't read my hard drive either. same issue with NTFS. nvm I got it now. I can't get my game I've just ripped from CleanRip to USBLoaderGX but I can't fix that right now.
I’m using USBLoaderGX to import my games directly. How do I import a dual layer game like smash brawl?
Don’t dump your games with usbloader GX
Why?
Because it will just throw together what it can copy whether it works or not. Just use cleanrip
