#Couple questions regarding wii and wii u nands

I have a bunch of wii's and wii u's. I only really use one and the rest are kept just in case they break. From what I understand it looks like the wii-u can't be kept powered off for long periods of time or it will break. My questions are as follows;

Is this also the case for the wii?

From what I understand its currently not possible to save a wii u console in the event of a nand failure if a nand backup is not present, does the wii also have this problem or can wii nands be swapped between consoles without issues?

I have two european and one japanese wii u's I plan on backing up all their nands. In the event of a nand failure will I still be able to use these consoles?

In the event of a nand failure of a wii would I still be able to use the console using some other nand from another console or a nand backup I made?

Please also keep in mind that I'm pretty new to this scene so I may not be familiar with all the terminology yet, thanks in advance to everyone who answers!

For Wii, you can do a full NAND restore with Bootmii. Though it's usually not necessary and only some Wiis support bootmii on boot2. The only time it's really necessary to restore a NAND backup on Wii is when something very bad has gone wrong, and in those cases, you'll need bootmii on boot2 to restore the NAND.

You cannot just restore a NAND from another Wii on a Wii.

If a Wii is bricked without a NAND backup but it has bootmii boot2, you can still launch Bootmii boot2 to create a NAND backup, (a backup that is bricked) then use this bricked backup to generate a fresh NAND that is like a brand new Wii.

Otherwise without bootmii boot2 you will need to solder and use a chip flasher and generate a clean NAND.

Correct. You might be able to modify a NAND backup to have everything on it from a different backup
