#Is there any way to use a 256 SD card with a USB adapter?

Hello I have a SanDisk Ultra 256 GB SDXC card with a micro to USB adapter. The SD card is genuine (I already tested it with the software that fills the SD card to see if it is fake and I was able to complete the test succesfully) I used GuiFormat to do a FAT32 format with 32kb allocation size. USB Loader GX and WiiFlow refuse to recognize the SD card, I am missing something?

I'd like to add that the SD card works on the frontal Wii port but I would prefer to use it with the USB adapter to be able to load Wii Back Ups from USB Loader GX

Don't use sdxc cards

They don't work very well in a wii and a lot of things don't support them

@boreal sky Wii ) SD/USB Partition and Format

To format your storage device to FAT32 with correct allocation unit size, use either of the two tools below.

guiFormat http://ridgecrop.co.uk/index.htm?guiformat.htm
WiiBackupManager https://wii.guide/wiibackupmanager

Your storage media should have MBR Volume, formatted to FAT32 with an allocation unit size dependent on its storage capacity. Homebrew apps are much more compatible with this format.

Drives with 64 GB or less are formatted to FAT32 with 32kb (32768 bytes) in each allocation unit.
Drives with more than 64 GB are formatted to FAT32 with 64kb (65536 bytes) in each allocation unit.

To verify your USB Partition, insert into your PC and use Disk Management instead and follow this guide to verify and convert to MBR if necessary:

Verify GPT/MBR Volume https://www.howtogeek.com/245610/how-to-check-if-a-disk-uses-gpt-or-mbr-and-how-to-convert-between-the-two/

If you have issues using a USB Flashdrive, Try formatting it to WBFS using WiiBackupManager. This will not be usable for homebrew apps and is only good for loading Wii games. It is sometimes more stable this way.

REMINDER: Backup your SD/USB’s contents before reformatting, as the process deletes everything on the storage device.

the only difference is that windows 🪟 forces SDXC to be formatted to NTFS or exFAT

milan you happen to know if what hes trying to accomplish with USBLGX would work?

#

Using a USB SD Card adapter?

#

that would be a funny workaround if it did work

well it would work i guess

#

but i dont reccomend it

but yeah it would probably work assuming the USB controller is compatible like any other USB drive

To be clear, my intention was to use my 256GB SD Card with a USB SD Card adapter on the back of the console to be able to play backups with USB Loader GX, and after following your steps and changing the USB to SD adapter to a better quality one it worked. For some reason it didn't work at 64kb, I tried 32kb and it worked flawlessly. Games load fast not a single problem.
