Hello! I just homebrewed my Wii yesterday and I got the FORE000006 Error. I understand it's pretty common and that it can be fixed by removing the SYSCONF with RC24-Clear, I'm just wondering if that could have any other negative implications on my Wii console.

I also tried setting the time correctly, but even when my Wii was both vanilla and new the time never stayed set properly.

You'll have to wait for an answer regarding if and what negative implications might exist by doing that. @plain frost?

But as far as the time not staying, that is because your CMOS battery in your system needs to be replaced. It's very easy, I recommend you do it.

The time does stay set, the main issue is that it runs too fast

If it's getting very out of sync like the same day or next day then the CMOS battery needs to be replaced.

So I got to the screen that says are you sure you want to delete SYSCONF, I'm trying to go back by hitting the home button but nothing is happening lol

Is there a "no" option you can select?

Otherwise just power down the Wii. Hold the power button if you must

Yeah I think I'll change out the CMOS battery, the clock has been running fast for years and my memory of a time when it might have not run fast is extremely vague

I've got some extras laying around too, if that doesn't fix it I'll send something here

Update: so I checked the CMOS battery with a battery tester and it's working perfectly so it looks like its not an issue with the battery. Deleting SYSCONF is too risky for me so I'm just gonna leave it
