About as entertaining as reading someone with a bad design complain about game mechanics. /s
May I speak with you about our lord and savior #1267805984517132370 message
make a disruptor tank
Should’ve thought about that when making your tank
I have an idea, make deflection based only on angle necessary to deflect a projectile, this angle would be influenced by it's mass and velocity (so kinetic energy) relative to shield power/shield area and if projectile is not deflected reduce it's speed by some % (and maybe trigger fuses or randomise their variables so payload shells don't just ignore this) and make it so deflecting projectiles uses more shield energy than slowing them. So sandblasters, highrpm low gauge stuff would be weak to properly angled shield but make it drain it's energy fast while big shots would be weakend but wouldn't weaken the shield too much? As for plasma/laser damage reduction I don't see a necessity to change it (but plasma itself should be expanded in my opinion :/ )
actually deflect could apply to plasma too, just with damage reduction instead of slowing if no deflect
Why would you want to change the speed of the shell? Kinetic damage is a separate variable.
Wooohoo
Revert it back to the old system where deflection chance was based on shell speed
In that case it should affect kinetic damage as well in a way that makes mathematical/physical sense
skill issue
Planars have been reworked like three times already
The RNG allows shells to do their intended damage while also reducing effective DPS
If you're worried about shield RNG, use inertial HEAT, or disruptors, or use a different vehicle with a different weapon to handle the shielded vehicle
Inertial heat? I think inertial frag would be what you want. I don’t think heat can airburst anyway
it can airburst, but then it's just worse than frag
its just he then
Inertial HEAT still does the jet effect
The jet projects through the air in the direction the HEAT round was pointed and can go past shields
(the most recent explosion is the smallest and is on the planar shield - iit still created fragments)
That is like
legitimately half the point of the inertial fuse
