I'm just trying to learn as I go. Sometimes I stumble on something I like. Let me know what you think.

the melody is nice, it's certainly a great start
tho for a finished track, i'd say it's missing some additional instruments to give it some depths and increase the frequency range :3
could be a nice exercise to keep working on the track to improve it further !
Oh yes. I would only call it "finished" as far as my skill set goes. What would you add? I'll keep working on it for sure.
yay
mhm i'd say other synths with a different texture, on higher octaves, playing ocunter melodies :3
Well now I'm going down the rabbit hole on counter melodies. I never knew what it was called. Thank you!
Sorry for spamming. Do you think the fact that I'm creating beats for an artist changes the need for additions? As in all the stuff I'm making is meant to also have vocals at some point.
It depends for what kind of genre you're making the instrumentals but often you'd want to have parts where the vocals are leading, and some others with a lead instrument.
In both cases, the more depth you give the song, the more professional it will sound as well (just don't overdo it, simple melodies are the ones that work best)
:3
The goal is to provide sound for a large frequency range so it doesn't sound empty
i like this, but i'd add something in between
in the first section
some ambiental sounds or something like that
mhm i agree, some pads just to fill the missing frequencies would be a nice addition already !
Right or wrong direction here?
it's definitely better ! Imo, as is, it's still quite empty, and you might wanna have additional instruments, or vocals
unless the purpose of the track is to be like chill lofi music to relax while working
I'll keep adding to it. I went way overboard on some mallets at first then dialed it way back. I'll add some very sparingly and see where it lands.
