So I have a pre-amp, an amp, and a few other effects I want to apply to my guitars and such. I unzipped them into the plugins folder, per the instructions of a tutorial I was following. But the problem is that when I go to add effects, they aren't on the list, under any name at all. I know they're the right bitrate, so something else has to be the issue. Please help, I am losing my mind, my neighbor asked me if I was okay earlier, this is making me unreasonably angry.
#LMMS isn't detecting my effects as effects.

Are you certain that the settings points to the right folder as the vst plugins folder?
I also have le456 and it works for me, and I'm certain you've restarted lmms after installing them
I mean, everything looks to be about right?
And what is the install directory of your le456 dll?
It's the plugins folder inside the LMMS folder
Please don't put anything inside the lmms folder.
When you uninstall lmms it will go away with it, and the plugins folder in the lmms folder is meant for the native plugins only.
Install your VSTs to C:/Program Files/VstPlugins as indicated by your settings menu, or direct your settings to look for VSTs into a different folder (I keep my VSTs on a separate drive) and download VSTs to that instead
Did the tutorial indicate that you had to install your VSTs into the lmms plugins folder?
You know I was wondering what that VstPlugins thing is, because it doesn't actually exist anywhere in my files
It actually didn't indicate anything at all, it just assumed I am not a newbie
You can create a new directory somewhere OUTSIDE THE LMMS FOLDER (please don't keep ANYTHING inside your LMMS folder)
Gotcha, I'll just reorganize everything in a pinch
Can I ask you for the link of this tutorial? If the phrasing is likely to be misinterpreted as placing in the plugins folder while simultaneously being aimed at users who do not know how to install a vst plugin, that can only end poorly
hehe, you just watched that one LMMS metal video, didn't you ?

Someone should probably put a comment there warning people
you have to change the one called "VST-PLUGIN DIRECTORY"
It's really amusing this video is known enough someone else can recognise it on rumour alone
I just made a new folder in my Program Files with that exact name, so now it actually directs me into it
That will work. It is possible some of your old projects based on the old location of your instrument VSTs are broken.
I was there, too, tried it and wasn't really satisfied with the results...
Getting good metal guitars to use for free in LMMS almost seems like an impossible task, which is why I'm looking forward to Steven Jaro's guitar rig effects, eventually...
Good thing I never got too far into the first one then haha
I say this because I notice you have other things in that folder too that look like instruments
Very lucky. I decided to move my VSTs off my desktop about at least hundred files in
Good luck with your music
Thank you very much. Can't wait to produce some bangers about all things monstrous and shocking
I made a tutorial for rock-guitars

I show here, how to make rock-guitars in LMMS' Tripple OSC
This was a requested tutorial.
