how did you isolate the vocals? they sound very muffled and like they're underwater. did you add another autotune on top or something of that nature?

also the bass note at 0:21 secs or whatever that is sounds out of key.

oh and if your project is clipping on export slap either a soft clipper or limiter on the master. and ofc turn down certain elements and stuff. i find its easier to mix everything kind of quiet but really cleanly and then add distortion and compression on mix buses and such. itll tie elements together as well as making sure the individual elements of your mix stay present

you've got a good start here and i'd love to hear it finished.

theres an insane amount of autotune and stuff lol, but the muffling is from a lowpass automation

the sidechaining in the original completely decimates the vocals, so i had to use a ton of effects to clearn it up haha

don't double up autotune it sounds bad, like if its your thing or you like the style. for this keep it very light because of the nature of the vocal. which autotune are you using? i'd use graillon 3 for this project

and i doubled up on autotune bc i kinda had to, the vocals are originally sung badly intentionally and vary up to a full semitone out of tune

i used MAutoPitch cuz i didnt know anything else

i also used a slight formant shift so the pitchshift on the vocals isnt noticable

Nah I used a formant shift bc it is kinda supposed to be like a deep "man"'s voice as a joke

likely because the algo mautopitch uses isnt very good. formant shifting in general is kind of an eh imo bc its hard to make it sound good

it can, but when i closed the GUI it just refused to open when i opened it again 😭

make sure every instance of remotevstplugin.exe is stopped

that's normally what makes my plugins bug out like that, its long running scripts or something

ohh is it a bug with the vst processes not stopping properly or somthing?

taskkill /F /IM RemoteVstPlugin64.exe

you can run these two commands in command prompt whenever u close lmms to make sure the vst processes stop

this can also cause issues when it comes to quantization based plugins like delays or time-warpers

so if you ever have issues with those plugins try just closing lmms and restarting it

nah it should be closed, idk

the LMMS gui to even manually change the knobs also just doesnt appear :/

so i ended up just using the makeshift solution of creating the file in audacity and then importing to LMMS

the plugin itself seems to be affecting the audio properly when in this state, it jusr DOESNT LOAD THE GUI :(

as i said i've had that happen to me before but it should be fixed by doing what i said

hmm are you on a laptop? like is it a really cpu intensive project?

maybe plugins are crashing and thats whats causing it to fuck up, or maybe its too much strain on your graphics card?

is it just mautopitch that does this for you?

ye, i am on a laptop, but its a pretty powerful one and the cpu isnt really taking much strain from it

interesting thing is i can still completely use the plugin, its just that after i close lmms and open it, even if i shut down the computer, i can never access those plugin settings again

this has to be a glitch specifically in mautopitch's code

or at least how its interpreted by lmms or whatever
