That was a nice break from Undertale music

This time around, I am making ASGORE. So far, this is what I got

#

Drums and bass will come later

Hi there! It sounds great so far; my main caution is that your mix sounds a bit crowded already, so you may have issues keeping the track sounding clean when you eventually add bass and drums

#

If you run into issues, ping me; I may have some ideas, but I'd need to hear what "broken" sounds like first

#

Until then, keep at it; you're doing great!

Oof yeah I tend to run into that problem allot

#

I add allot of things and then it ends up sounding too much

Truly your greatest assets will be turning down the volume and learning some carving EQ; it's scary and feels wrong at first, but it'll make your life easier as you go

#

Not that it's necessary in the slightest until you have a problem, I just get a sense already that you might run into it

Yeah, I think it's the guitars that were too loud at first and cancelled out the main violins. So I ampted up the violin and then it started sounding more crowded

Another thing that might help is having fewer instruments play the melody. Like, unless you're specifically going for a tone color that has the sound of several instruments playing, that's an easy source of messy sounds

#

Try following one instrument at a time in the original song and see how they balance which instruments play what

#

Yup I'll remove some unnecessary ones, then add if necessary!

Good luck! 🥳

Actually, I edited what I had slightly and took into account what you said

#

Is it cleaner?

#

I think the end bit sounds better

(I'll listen when I get home; I got pulled away for a while lol)

So I think I had a little too much fun

#

I imported your audio, shifted it to align with a beat correctly, and put some basic drum + bass over it based on what I remember the song sounding like (it's been a while). I only had to do one other tweak: at the very end you have an extra beat

#

I'm impressed at how well this came together; I didn't do anything other then cutting to your track, it's already pretty well-balanced

#

I know for a fact I also didn't get all of the notes right, especially in the bass; I trust your ear to be able to figure out the right answer

#

You really cleaned up your mix! I'm impressed 🥳

Yes!! I might use the drum beat you used, especially during Toriels bit
