it looks like you're using BB notes (essentially 0 length notes which play the whole sample). you'll probably want to make those actual notes with length.

You can try dragging the note from the right side to make it length-bound, or you can try drawing new notes with the note length you want.

it aint letting me drag the note

B+B notes aren't resizeable whatsoever. You need to select a new note length from the drop menu, input one and resize it to desired length. Then you can switch back to the last note option

ohhhhh

thx @shy moss

also can you help me with something else?

shy moss

Post it here and we'll see

You see the massive lines above the notes (in piano roll), thats all I want to play. But as you can see in the Beat +Bassline Editor in the same piano roll there is an empty gap at the end. I want to remove that but its not going.

You need a different time signature. I wouldn't recommend using B+B for this, as it's incredibly prone to breaking when you change time signature

#

Alternatively you can put tempo automation there to emulate a different time signature

#

Actually your problem may not be time signature, it may even just be tempo

#

It doesn't look like your melody is aligned to the beats, so maybe you simply need a different tempo

ay bro im new to this stuff so u gonna have to explain it better pls

shy moss
#

Tempo is speed. Higher the tempo, higher the speed

#

Music (especially in software) is aligned to beats, and tempo dictates how fast each beat lasts

#

oh ok

shy moss
#

If at 140 you have too much left to go before the next beat, maybe at 150 or 160 you'd align closer to the end of the bar

#

Time signature is just how many beats there are before the next bar

#

By default it's 4. It's very often 4 but not always

#

If you've ever heard someone counting or clapping to music, that's what it is

#

Generally you want to compose so that notes align to the grid you've chosen, then adjust tempo so that it sounds right

#

so what ur saying is that i should make it four beats long

#

and increase the tempo

shy moss
#

Yea, or any multiple of four

#

If you use eight, you need twice the tempo to get the same result as using four

ohhhhhhhh

#

There's no real right or wrong call which way to go, it's more about what you feel and what you're planning to do

nocturne token
#

uhm

#

I wanna know something.

#

My notes are total 4 beats long and my tempo is 220

#

is that bad

shy moss
#

No, you can do that
