Is there any way for me to relocate the samples of an lmms project if i change their directory? In some other programs it pops up a file browser and lets me go to the new directory. Is there any way to do that in LMMS somehow?

You can always open lmms, open the files from the new directory and resave

Or you have this option which works only on .mmp files

Open the mmp file using a text editor, rename the tag which contains the old path with the new path

Significantly smaller About 15-16 times compression! on disk -But most modern pc' has disks of TB size and then it is really of no consequence.
Using MMPZ as default save format has implication for rescuing projects. If something goes wrong MMP**Z **saved project is not rescueable whereas MMP-projects often can be rebuild manually
