... at least since this used to be a channel πŸ™‚
This is a little "sampler", I guess, of some patterns hastily thrown together; I know I'd need to fix some pacing and make a coda if this were to be finished--which I haven't yet committed to. It's a bit long--sorry about that, I know I have that problem.
So... anything I should do more of? Less of? Things to fix or add? Promising or scrap?

I like it! Since you uploaded the LMMS file, I took the liberty of downloading and messing around with it, and I have a few notes:

  1. You can sidechain using an amplifier plugin, and that gives you the ability to still use your fx mixer.
  2. I added a white noise sweep for you. If you don't like it, that's fine, but I thought it needed it for some texture.
  3. You're bass needed a sub. Fortunately, since you were using tripleoscillator, all I needed to do to add one was turn on one of the other oscillators
#

also, since you mostly use TO and kicker, your project was extremely portable and I had no trouble opening it

Thanks for the feedback! This is still to be arranged--so pardon that everything's in order of authoring; I was going to move it about once I was happy with the individual parts. (I think I'm getting there...)

#

Good thought about the sidechain -> amplifier (instead of the mix fader); I'm really not using it for anything other than a route target, so it's fine for now, but useful to know for more complex routing layouts.

I'm actually having a bit of trouble opening that in the (old) LMMS 1.2.2 stable on hand--it fails to load the "midicontrollers" plugin and kills all the instruments in the BB. I think I see what you did to "Bs + sub", but that's terribly faint--maybe my poor headphones can't reproduce it?
(Also, the "Ns" is a noise instrument with a little sweep near bars 23-26; after listening to your take, I made it markedly more present πŸ™‚

I think it's a little more arranged--I'll be honest, this still isn't my strong suit, and I'm a bit dissatisfied with the pacing, even if I do apparently like my "long form" pieces; there's just not enough climax before the coda. I'm also not sold on starting with the half-tempo intro--it seems like it contrasts better in the mid-section "break down".
Hearing the previous, I'm hoping (1) the bass part has a better "sub" presence (maybe too much?) and (2) the noise sweeps are at least tasteful, if probably idiosyncratic
(Bonus track: a monitor recording of the half-tempo with the coda filter and tempo--I'd have a music box that played this on loop πŸ™‚

@bronze fiber also man I am taking the liberty to modify your track a bit, yk refine it properly mix it and give it to you

#

You can learn from it then

#

Because your track rn is very unrefined and harsh

#

You have unnecessary tracks which are doing nothing

#

I also layered some of your tracks

#

I tried not to change your concept drastically and I also shortened the length to like 3 mins to make it less boring, there was a lot of repetition so removed that too

#

I will mix it now so yea will give it to you soon

Thanks for the tips and the example! I'm sitting on a "probably final cut" that I've been only slightly tweaking for over a week (to be posted Soonℒ️), so I don't know how many changes will make it into that version--but I am taking note of the techniques: layering the drums (good video to that effect), having a non-binary sustain level, the 3OSC waveforms and octave arrangements, overlapping melody sections to shorten the development... those'll have to be what I experiment with next--along with the regularly-scheduled "figure out how to do percussion at all" πŸ™‚
