Ok so, I seem to have gotten completely disconnected from voice chat server. I can no longer hear anyone or talk to anyone over voice. rebooting the game did not solve the issue. I can still chat with other people over message box, and all other aspects of game are working fine. I see no error when pressing the voice chat button (both local and squad) but i don't see the speaker icon, when i talk. Also i don't see speaker icon when other people are talking(they just tell me in message that they are talking. I also visited a busy frontline to make sure they weren't messing with me. but no, total voice chat silence, just sound of guns, kinda creepy) The last thing i remember before becoming disconnected from voice chat is panic pressing a few buttons on keyboard trying to squad chat. from that point i can't hear or talk to anyone over voice. (I tested my mic and speakers, they are all working fine, changing mic and speaker didn't change anything)

This is probably something I misunderstood in technical but it's been happening to me ever since I came back to Foxhole, wasn't a problem for me in war 1 & 2 but when I came back for the previous war, I noticed that either when I just joined or moved to another province that I couldn't use my voice chat and that other player's voice chat would become spotty and cut out, sometimes if would be fixed simply over time or if I died but I've noticed now after a considerable amount of time in a new province that the problem persists, if someone could help me out it would be appreciated

well if you dont see the voice icon when talking and holding down the mic button assuming your mic is working and you are talking loud enough to overcome the level cut off then you are probably not actually connected to the server or vivox files are screwed up

sip alg is red herring. the game uses https (or other encryption) to connect to vivox, so its encrypted, so sip alg is never used

Fixing issues with Voice Chat, DNS related
What is DNS?
DNS is Domain Name System, it is used to resolve Domain Names to their respective location or IP address.
Why would DNS be the issue?
DNS is used when services like VoIP are trying to resolve where to send the audio traffic and where to recieve audio traffic from. Certain DNS providers and ISPs have the incorrect information where to send traffic, causing Error Codes in game such as [8]-6.
How do i fix this?

Add 8.8.8.8 as the primary and 8.8.4.4 as the secondary(Google DNS). If you'd prefer to use a different one than google, use 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 (OPEN DNS)

Hey guys, have been having issues with traveling between regions. The game will crash (managed get hold of an error message, see screenshot below) when I'm traveling between borders (ik they just fixed something to do with this but it still happens to me), and it will also crash when I go back to the home region and try to deploy in another region.

getting disconnected from voicechat constantly, it auto reconnects me to the squad chat but i need to manually reconnect to local; been happening consistently over the past two days
tried all solutions in pinned messages, internet is fine and stable, did a full reinstall just incase

that would have nothing to do with hardware especially your processer but there are known issues near borders affecting everyone

On top of that the client fetches your refinery queues from the server when you actually interact with the refinery. It'd be a waste of network resources if it loaded the queues for you when you enter the logi city but you leave without ever interacting with the Refinery.

I had choppy voice chat, like every second, the audio would sorta cut and start again obnoxiously. Looked at my task bar, saw that my microphone was being in use, then stopping, and being in use again, at the exact time these chops occurred. So I set my input device to 'system default' rather than directly choosing it, and now its smooth.

Hi, so I just got Foxhole, loving the game n everything, but this error I keep getting is I'll be comfortably be playing and I'll get a "Connection to Server Timed Out" message. Keep getting a blackscreen on startup and I did all the "technical read firsts" that could be the problem and is my laptop only having 1.2 ghz of ram enough to make the game not run at all? I mean this stuff is bonkers to me since I run tons of other games with the same 2.0 requirement "fine" on this laptop. At least they start up to the main menu.

well if that doesnt work then the only thing you can do is zip up your crash files and email it over to clapfoot explaining the issue

Hi guys! I'm having connection issues, such as "connection refused by server,your connection to the host has been lost","Lost connection to server. Please try again. If the problem persists again, try refreshing the server list." etc.(shard problem, as well as download profile). I have tried everything, from disabling firewall, resetting the firewall permission, resetting the modem and the ethernet cables, restarting the PC, waiting for the next day, verify the game files, changing the in-game server browser to 500pings/m. I have tried everything the discord and reddit posts have suggested, except deleting and reinstalling foxhole ( as my friends suggested). My internet connection is doing well, I can play other games with good ping. The odd thing though is that when i used task manager i saw Foxhole4.20.3:31319 using up a lot of internet, that it stops discord from running (I have really bad Internet). Whenever I am able to run foxhole, I was able to join my squad, I can run around and sometimes be able to shoot, but when i see other plays they just run a straight line. I have a lot of screenshots of the problem. Also this problem began during the practice war, (Sorry for this wall of text, I've been trying ever since the Practice war)

Any other game that I play works well. First time connection issues I had with foxhole for the past 4 years.

usually your error message indicates a connection problem. but it might be your game files or possibly a hardware problem (read pinned msgs)

You're friends with a collie? yikes.

That being said, have you checked the top right hand corner when you go to deploy (where you can edit your profile, etc.). You're typically allowed to change your side there IIRC.

@umbral wharf have you tried changing your DNS server to use google or opendns?

its either a) pointing to the wrong server IP or b) unable to route to that address, i would test the DNS server first, then I would test with a VPN to see if it will connect through that (like tunnelbear)

@ruby island I have around a download speed of 1.0-1.2 mbps, but with a really high upload speed, I guess thats the problem? My ping is also quite decent. The fact that this happens only with foxhole boggles me

I've been having this problem lately where I can join the home region but then when I try to deploy the game starts loading but after a while I get a "Connection to server timed out" sort of error and I'm put back into the main menu. Any idea what to do about it? I tried changing the DNS and the game isn't blocked in the firewall.
