If you're using an AMD Graphics card, check your driver version. Only versions 20.1.2 and upwards will work as it fixes a bug that occurred in previous drivers.

Hey, hoping I can find some aid in this group, but not 100% on who to ping or ask. I've had the game for about a week or so, but have yet to be able to play the game. Comes up with an error box saying 'fatal error' and crashes out each time I try to launch it. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times, and tried verifying integrity of the game files. So far nothing has worked. if anyone could help me figure out what is going wrong, that'd be great. And scrolled up to see something about graphics drivers, while I was waiting out the timer...already checked that, mine is saying it's up to date, so that's not the problem, either. And have tried launching it with absolutely everything shut down, except steam in order to launch it. I'm running out of ideas on what to do. But it seems to just be me, as others I know have been playing it this whole time without being able to figure out what is wrong on my side. So it's not a bug in the game, as far as I know, which means it has to be something on my end, but I have no idea what.

as for no driver updates showing up what gpu do you have
because 20.1.3 should show up a recommended
and a download through radeon software
the only 2 options i can see is if your gpu from whatever reason has been dropped from support and will not offer you new driver versions or the update is hitting cache
i dont think any gpus have been dropped so pretty sure you are just hitting cache

ok, I got blind-sided by the restart. And plz keep in mind, I'm nothing close to a tech guy, I barely understand how computers work well enough to play video games, so I don't know what your asking about. But the driver is installed, re-installing the game, and as for the driver....I use Driver Booster. if it don't show a driver needs and update, I don't see it, and it didn't show this update for my drivers. Still, will know soon-ish if that fixed the issue.

well uhhh never ever ever use a external driver installer
those generally install adware and other things on top of most the time not official drivers
and you didnt need to reinstall the game
realistically the only drivers you will ever need to update are gpu drivers
other then that as long as other stuff works reasonably well you dont need to update other drivers
and windows most the time will keep you reasonably updated without any input anyways

Game finally successfully launched, barring unexpected errors, seems that solved the issue. I'll worry about dealing with Driver booster and finding where the program from the link went and hid itself so I can make a thumbnail link or something to it for later use once I work with the guys that been waiting like...a week for me to be able to join them, so they can finally drag me in....knowing them, in a trial-by-fire means of learning.

just make sure to use radeon software which should be installed to update your gpu drivers
as that is the official app and will pull the correct drivers for you
other then that do not worry about any other drivers for your system
they are pretty much handled by windows at this point

Hey y'all. I'm having some trouble with my PTT in game. It was working last night with no changes made, but now when I hit ANY button I set to activate PTT, nothing pops up.
Tried to reconnect a few times; closed the game, restarted, unplugged the microphone; set it to a different microphone... But it doesn't appear to want to activate in game.

Well; now I'm getting the old and true [8] 6-0 error, the usual reconnect/restart fix isn't fixing it.
Looks like the error was with Voicemeter Banana; that I use for streaming and sound gating. 😦

@quick island I heavily doubt the error is Voicemeeter. In the past before we had better solutions, installing and setting up voicemeeter was a workaround that we actively used to help people.

🤔 I have no idea just what it was doing then; As soon as I turned Voicemeter off (Full program close), I was able to use PTT again no problem, and as soon as I turned VM back on, PTT wouldn't activate on the keypress.
It's got to be some weird thing on my side, but right now, I'll just play without VM on; until I come up with a working solution.

Having a problem with getting myself deployed, often ended up with lost connection while loading, also problem with traveling to another region, always ended up with the same thing as well. I have updated my drivers, and yes, i have a broadband internet connection. Any ideas ?

the mic icon only appears when your mic is outputting
meaning if you just press the ptt button nothing will appear until you actually start talking
or the game sees a level output with the mic
a program like voice meter would not interfere with the games ptt

@ruby island Yea; just brought everything back up and retested it, It all works fine, off of Foxhole. Right now, I'm thinking that its actually Foxhole looping back through Voicemeter because I'm setting the output for my voicemeter wrong somehow, since my friends are saying that they can hear my game audio on Discord; when I was testing it out. I'm fairly sure I'm to stupid to actually figure out what the hell I'm doing wrong.

If I play offline it runs perfectly fine, I can explore the main menu, the options and all, except when I turn the wifi back on and click refresh, which leads to an almost instant crash

and disconnecting from the internet seems to make the game work
otherwise it just a blank screen and closes

There are several things you can try.
Some you did already some not.
- Hard Reset
- Using a VM an installing on it another Windows Installation trying the game there
- Reinstalling Steam and Foxhole
- Updating your Windows (Check for Updates, Windows is weird like that)
- deactivating the iGPU within the Bios
- Updating Bios HP got there this nice software solution for Windows
- Catching the Internet Traffic trough your Ethernet or Wireless Adapter and looking trough the Packages what happens before the Game crashes.

unfortunately on slow hard drives thats all windows does is 100%
my old laptop when started is pinned for like 10-20 minutes at 100% and when i press the start button that pins it for at least the next 5 minutes
problem is windows instead of caching most commonly used stuff it just loads what is vital to the system at the moment meaning anything you do in windows will use the hard drive
this gives the effect of a faster pc on boot but you suffer when loading anything
thats also why the most annoying thing in windows happens where you right click something and it takes like a minute to load a fucking context menu

Put windows onto a dedicated SSD is probably the best thing you can do for your computer nowadays. I recommend 128 gigabytes at least.

HI ! Only in foxhole i have an interesting and annoying problem.. after win10 reinstall the game "crashing" my sound card it makes no sound in game and in other apps. ( I am using 7.1 adapter headset, which is 100% not the problem)

but you can check bios depending on how locked down it is and usually change the amount of ram allocated to your igpu

You have hardware ram that your system uses for the game and itself..you have dedicated GPU Ram that the GPU uses to store information for it to display and load quickly when rendering. And then shared GPU memory which from what i understand is just your systen ram.
Windows 10 Task Manager should tell you all that information.
In what little ive seen about people saying the game fails to run. Most of the time its been on an Integrated GPU. IE the processor has basic GPU graphics. Sometimes it can handle it sometimes it cant. Usually you only use the iGPU for basic work or extra monitors. Not for running graphics intensive programs like modelling, rendering, and video gaming.

I have had this happen before, it could be, if you have a wireless mouse, it is low on batteries.

Also, you might have an actual faulty mouse, where the problems don't show until you hold click it. Make sure hold click isn't broken.

if its nvidia make sure you have download the drivers from the repos rather then the site as nvidias installer can break things

if you have already used the .run script from nvidias site then unfortunately you will probably need to reinstall to fully clear up what the script did

but i was on 18.10.02 ubuntu, i think, with a 750ti
couldnt find anything compatible in the PPAs
