8-6-0 is one of the hardest voice problems i dont think we have a single answer or a guaranteed fix
we tend to think its network related - so if you use a VPN or a mobile phone tether and the problem goes away it could be your router
could be a firewall or antivirus program blocking it
im not sure if anyone has tried voicemeeter to prove if its actually a network problem or not

What is DNS?
DNS is Domain Name System, it is used to resolve Domain Names to their respective location or IP address.
Why would DNS be the issue?
DNS is used when services like VoIP are trying to resolve where to send the audio traffic and where to recieve audio traffic from. Certain DNS providers and ISPs have the incorrect information where to send traffic, causing Error Codes in game such as [8]-6.
How do i fix this?

Add 8.8.8.8 as the primary and 8.8.4.4 as the secondary(Google DNS). If you'd prefer to use a different one than google, use 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 (OPEN DNS)
- Close Steam and Foxhole
- Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Foxhole\War\Plugins\VivoxCoreUE4Plugin\Source\ThirdParty
- Delete VivoxCoreLibrary
- Reopen Steam, and verify the game files.
- Restart your computer.

Good afternoon, I am having issues with my voice chat. It seems many others have had similar issues on the internet. Previously I was getting error [8] 6-0 but I deleted one of the folders in my plugins files and verified the cache, I don't seem to have that error any longer. However I still cannot connect into the chat nor can I hear or be heard when trying to chat. Just purchased the game so trying to really experience it with a friend, would appreciate all troubleshooting steps.
Troubleshooting Steps Already Taken
1 - I have verified that my microphone works
2- I have ensured there are no additional sound devices enabled on my system
3- I have tried restarting the game and my PC.
4- I have navigated to War>Plugins and deleted the Vivox thingy and re-verified game cache.
5- I have edited my DNS.
6- I have reinstalled foxhole per the instructions on this thread.

8 6-0 is a tricky problem. I think theres 2 routes to take:

There is a network routing problem. Your router isn't routing properly for Vivox or your ISP isn't routing it. A way to test this is to use a VPN temporarily; there is a free one at tunnelbear.com

it has a hack. this is a bug introduced in .24 if you have the same one
i have recommended that fix to at least 10 people, hopefully a fix will appear in foxhole soon and they can all remove any unnecessary 3rd party software
it helps if you file a #bug-reports if you feel up to it - I'm afraid the bug is not being reported highly, I only know of 1 person who has

also make sure you dont have any betas enabled in the foxhole properties in steam. It's possible you set it to a specific version for last update, maybe to get the download early, and now its stuck on it?
theres 2 directories, one in program files in steam, and the other in appdata
the appdata one is a hidden directory that involves your username, thats the one that is hard to find sometimes that I put as a literal link you can copy and paste into windows explorer
but the one in the steam directory you should not have trouble finding
note: this will reset your key bindings and graphics settings

I am having the same issue as the above user. I start up foxhole and when attempting to start the game and join the war it tells me (failed to load profile[1]) should I follow the same instructions?

maybe it's something I installed recently, I did get that uboat game and foxhole stopped working afterwards but that wouldn't explain anything. I'll go check my files, re-install and get back to you

you could also try creating a new windows user (just for testing), run steam with it and see if foxhole will play
windows key + L will let you switch users pretty easy

Yea itโs weird I only have like one set of mic and speakers so I put the first 2 B and the 3rd A but mean while I didnโt need the second B Idk I got to work and I can hear sound not enough people on to know if itโs working or not but Iโll see if the voice chat is fix tomorrow

if you see the microphone equalizer lighting up in the voicemeeter interface when you talk, and you dont see it lighting up when you play normal sounds it sound be working

Over two weeks...
I can not play the game at all...
Every time I have tried itโs either going to kick me out of the game or wait for ten minutes until it breaks me back to main menu saying โconnection to the server lostโ
I have verified the files three times and re-downloaded the game again two times...

after the problem resolved itself, I now have the failed to load profile[1] error again on foxhole upon start. I have no idea what made it go away or what started it
I will attempt to restart my pc and see if it helps
if this problem persists I will ask devs if it's a bug

Alright so I followed the instructions...
Although there weren't any files on the \Local...
Actually step three wasn't actually necessary...
There was one an NVIDIA file which It's on my computer from 2018...
So after I deleted everything from my bin...
I uninstalled foxhole from steam...
I re-downloaded it...
Aaand nothing.. ._.
I do not know though if I did anything wrong... ._.

- you can try restarting steam, or your computer
- you might have a game running in the background
- you might have non-latin characters in your windows login name - you can try deleting the contents in %appdata%\..\local\Foxhole
