Check pinned messages. For me it was always my wireless adaptor acting up. So I just unplug it, plug it back in, quit foxhole and relaunch it. Then it would be good for me.

If it's the latter, make sure there's proper airflow beneath the laptop. Use a solid surface like a table or a book to place it on instead of your lap or w/e.

I'd shut down all intensive applications while Foxhole is running. Unplug unnecessary USBs/peripherals, and double check your BIOS if you need too. BIOS updates are occasionally screwy, so they could've altered fan settings.

I'm kinda having connection issues in Foxhole. Every 10 to 20 seconds the game'd freeze for a while but my character would keep running in the direction he was going before the freeze. In one instance, i lost connection to the server and couldn't join back because it says the WC servers are currently unavailable (about an hour ago). I could still hear Discord working fine during the freezes and internet browser is connecting normally, so the lag only seems to affect Foxhole. Any ideas?

@static shadow You may have a problem with screen tearing. Forgot if Foxhole has this, but enabling VSync usually fixes it but limits your frame rate to like 60 FPS

@wild heath Next time you try to edit your Foxhole profile, click "Next" so it's showing the Warden profile. Perhaps you need to have played as a Colonial to edit the Collie profile.

Hi guys, I have an annoying issue trying to join the game. When I click "Join the War" when click a faction, it pauses for a while then says "Lost connection to server. Please try again.". I've got steam running as administrator and it's allowed through the firewall. I'm not really sure what else to try.

After a period of time , defenses will start to decay and if not maintained or repaired it will collapse and demolish itself

@tulip coral I haven't played Fortified whatsoever, but my first instinct would be to verify the game files. This can be achieved by right clicking Fortified in your game inventory, selecting "Properties," then clicking the "Local Files" tab.

@terse flume Discord is pretty easy. It's plug-and-play if you've got a USB headset like I do. You can either voice chat where your microphone's input is sensitive to you talking (relaying your speech when you talk), or by push-to-talk (holding down CAPSLK or something) to speak. Drop in here again if you can't figure it all out.

If you are talking about Apple Earphones w/ the built in mic, they unfortunately will not work if you just plug them into the headphone slot. You'll need a mic splitter at best, and even then I don't know if the earphones will let you use the mic

I have tried it on a laptop from 2 diffrent locations/routers, and on my stationary. Followed all of the points in the guide every time. Ive tried manually adding rulles to the antivirus/firewall for both outward connections and inwards, aswell as trying to give it full access to do whatever the program wants but nothing.

@analog sphinx Toggle your discord overlay. My keybind for it is Shift+`, but yours make be different.
Once you do that, a translucent box will appear and you can drag the chat overlay across the screen to a position of your liking.

Go to discord Settings -> Overlay -> Change the settings in there.
Probably the "Display names" or "Display users" options need to be tuned.
Under those options, you can have it set to "Only display when talking," so that should work for you.

So I've found this problem. Game crashes with D3D error and communicate HANG. Nvidia support told me that is caused by application due to this line: Graphics Exception: MISSING_MACRO_DATA
the other error says: Graphics Exception: ESR 0x404490=0x80000001
and they repeat during game freeze
My graphic card is Nvidia GeForce GTX 760, latest driver (clean installed with help of Nvidia support). Never had this problem before and I'm playing Foxhole for around half y atm.

As game freezes and crashes my event browser is flooded with messages with event id 13 and sometimes with information "display has stopped working but recovered and works fine"

So far, we've:
- Uninstalled his GPU Driver using DDU
- Installed the LATEST GPU Driver for his GTX 760, using a CLEAN installation
- Uninstalled his Anti-Virus
- Verified the game's files on Steam MULTIPLE times throughout this session
- He says no major system modifications/ program installations
- Decreased his GPU clock speed to the minimum allowed using MSI Afterburner
- And yes, he did say that the game still crashed when he didn't have MSI Afterburner installed
- Verified that his computer/GPU temperatures were normal while he was in the Home Region for like 5 seconds before he crashes
- Manually set his fan speed to the maximum
- He said that "random files disappear from my computer"
- ATTEMPTED TO SET LAUNCH PARAMETERS (separately, not together):
-opengl4, then
-opengl3, then
-nod3d9ex, which brought us a new error: GameThread timed out waiting for RenderThread after 30.00 secs
- He had a problem with the game asking to install Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable, a known problem
- Did the "sfc /scannow" command as told on the Foxhole website FAQ
- Uninstalled Microsoft VC++ 2017, leaving it with the 2015 version installed only
- He said he was missing .NET framework 4.7?
- Trying the game with Fullscreen/Windowed/Windowed Fullscreen and VSync On/Off
