Hm, my friend still can't join the war. We're suspecting that it's the internet-connection, since he doesn't get any news on the first page.
We have done the following:
- Portforwarded all the steam-ports
- Activated DMZ
- Activated static IP for computer
- Turned off firewall (+ added steam/foxhole as exception)
- Restarted EVERYTHING, several times.
Is there anything else we can do? We've been at it for 2 hours now.

In the meantime, a great tool to check is the Snappy Driver Installer.
SDI is great. It can pull entire indexes of drivers for use if yours may be outdated.

This might get me grilled because it's only sorta foxhole related, but maybe one of you computer clowns will know what's up. About a month ago while playing foxhole on ultra settings, my fps dropped to like, 6 out of nowhere when I used to get 40-50 on ultra. I thought it was the game at first because it only affected foxhole, but now its every game. I notice games will run like usual (high fps) for about 5-10 seconds when I start a game or enter a new area (like in fallout 4), but then they drop dramatically. Most games are still playable but have to be played on lowest settings and have like 30 fps. Its still not quite a potato computer but its not what it used to be. Does ANYONE have advice or know what happened? I really dont want to have to buy a new thing for my laptop but I've been told it could be the video card is fried or something hardware related. I even factory reset so I'm 99% sure its hardware but idk, any glimmer of "not buying anything" hope would be appreciated.

Disable other mic devices to be safe.

When you press the Push to Talk key in game and talk, do you get a speaker icon above your player model?

When you see that icon, it means the game is picking up your audio. And having read up, it appears that @wicked rampart said they heard audio coming from you that sounded like a TV.
This indicates that it's most likely an issue with your microphone not picking up your voice very well for whatever reason.

Maybe give it another try? Run around in game and hold T (push to talk default) and try getting people's attentions asking if they can hear you.

I have a clan mate who has the Razer Kraken headset, and his microphone works for every other Steam game in the game, it works on Discord, etc. We walked through all the steps posted here in the troubleshooting, for each of the various microphone problems listed. He has reinstalled drivers, and done every possible thing. He has the speaker icon on when he presses the in game button for chat. Just nobody can hear him.

@tame tide honestly I'm not sure how to help you. I'm fairly certain it's an issue with either your hardware or something going on networking wise. Like was said, everything seems to work but your mic might simply be bad. Someone may be able to help you troubleshoot further but it would mean being in game at the same time as you too experience it first hand.
I did get an answer from the devs on something though - the voice system is peer2peer. It's possible that something networking related is messing things up between you and other players causing voice data packets to not be transmitted correctly.
If you're using a VPN or any proxy settings, make sure they're disabled, and possibly attempt to disable any firewalls you have.
May also be worth seeing if you have QoS or Quality of Service settings on your modem/router. If you do, enable them. If they're already enabled, disable them.

I was sitting by watching that mic issue. But since they were saying other programs were working I had no clue what it could be. I had helped someone earlier, Karma I believe, to fix his mic issue. His was more serious in terms of his mic wasn't working with anything for a while.
If you do happen to come across that issue it was due to a recent Windows 10 update. For some god awful reason Win10 changed some setting in the back without warning. I thought my headset died as well thanks to this. You need to go to Windows Settings > Privacy > Microphone and change it so programs get access to the microphone.

They could be from any number of causes.

hey guys i need help, i finally bought the game after playing the alpha branch from last year and its crashing constantly, with steam
the game loads, but after a few minutes of gameplay, it kicks me out for timing out and the game freezes. i cant do anything apart from win-tab and opening task manager.

@austere galleon I have experienced one of those problems. Every other hit with a sledgehammer wouldn't mine the resource for some reason. But that was awhile back, maybe 2-3 months back.
On building lag: Are you talking about when there's like 3+ builders trying to build a blueprint, and the hammer hits do not register for some of you?

Right click the speaker icon in the system tray, select "Sounds" then check the "Playback" tab.
I have that issue sometimes when I mess with drivers or sound settings when I switch to speakers.
