Son of a Consul who wants to 'play soldier' gets assigned to an Auxiliary rearguard Legion responsible for quelling any unrest. His journal writings are more about his experiences with other Legions, the finer details of each city, folklore and of course, culinary dishes.

Folklore such as why Dullahan's Crest is named that way, more about the various dialects of other Legions (References to existing Colonial Clans) and food served in the cities.

In the Great Wars, after a capture of a enemy trench, Caoivish soldiers would often use the heads of dead enemy officers and put them on long poles. This was used to make 2 tactics. One was: deception, to draw in sniper fire, and triangulate their position so that they can be killed. Or as a fear tactic; as enemies who retreated to their back trench, would see the head. And may recognize the dead officer. Thus, striking fear and hopelessness.
