in ww1/ww2 and the vietnam war flamethrowers were used for clearing out enemy foxholes and especially pillboxes and bunkers.

I think flamethrower fuel should be fabricated as well in the gear factory (or whatever its called), cause otherwise you could just get yourself a flamethrower and start camping at every fuel node so the enmy doesn't get any fuel. I've designed the internals, it's a rather thick gun
Barrel housing is thicker than it should be realistically
It's made for mechs(well larger than usual power armour) not standard infantry
Hence the enlarged fore end
