early prototype of it pictured in 1938
Louis renault commisioned it be manufactured as a support tank for the Char B1 bis.
I wasn't classing it as my own work. I was promoting it as a potential tank that could be used as inspiration for Warden tank design. I chose to stylise the tank as I envisage it in the game. it being my own opinion, you're completely open to question it, but I did not ever deny its existence as a real tank.

Ariexe, got any hot tips for unwrapping? I'm usually burnt out after making a hipoly and lowpoly, and I just automate it with smoothing groups and call it a day

@floral estuary Im in the same boat as you. unfortunatly I had a rotten teacher behind my texturing/uving class who taught us... well... nothing. i find automation (epspecialy in maya) is trash and should be done manualy. I personaly planar /cylindrical unwrap depending on the object, then I freeze the basic shape, cut the corners, then hit unwrap and then move the UV's manualy after that to fine tune it. there is still so much about the unwraping process I do not know.
I get problems like the middle seam though. but I figure "the camera will be so high and the colour will be uniform, it shouldn;t matter" but it ALWAYS bites me in the butt

I see, I recently started messing around with textools and when I do actually give a heck on unwrapping, I make sure my model has proper smoothing groups - then, in 3ds, I flatten by smoothing groups and already have a lot of my work done. Then I rescale stuff so that every poly has the same pixel density, and then I do cyllindrical unwrap for wheels and such, and use textools align and pack, but in the end it's still one huge tetris at the end

aye and the scratches are quite upscaled and smoothed out, tried my hand at making something in substance designer but I guess a lot of this is painted by hand, not by algorithm

then fold the outsides straight to attatch them to the rest of the object instead of having a seperate shell

Dear Ma and Pa
I know I haven't been able to write in a while, ever since my unit shipped out they've had us on the move near constantly. It's good to hear that the crops doing well, I was worried that y'all would need help when I was called up. Sounds like Bobby's picked up the slack though. It's a reliefe that Pa got over his sickness as well. I know in his last letter, he wanted to know what they had me doing. Well, I'll do my best to tell you.
Ever since I reported to my unit, they've had us training for something big. We've been training along side one of the freshly arrived tank units, how to work with them and all that. I gotta tell you Pa, these things are impressive. Tanker boys call them the Hatchet. Looks like one could take on an entire Warden company by itself.
As for me personally, I'm being trained as what the Sarge calls a grenadier. They gave me a tool that goes on the end of my rifle that you can put a grenade in. Pull the trigger and it goes flying. It's really something.
For now we're in a town called Suns Hollow. They put us up in an old hotel of all things. Nice place, but we're packed in here like hay bales in the barn. At least the foods good.
I wish I could tell you all more, but the officers warned us that certain things could get taken out of the letters and get us in trouble. Anyways, how're things back home? I know Wendy has already had her birthday, would you wish her one for me? And tell Bobby to keep up the hard work in school too.
Well, I've gotta get going soon. The Captain wants us assembled out front of the town this evening. I wish you all the best of luck with the farm. I miss you all a lot.
