I've been experimenting a lot with the custom jets, turns out they have parts that can turn a % of thrust into engine power

So you can keep the ions powered indefinitely as long as there's enough fuel to keep the jet turbines running

Won't win any prizes for speed or addition of shields or whatnot but it literally has no engine lul

Yeah so far im shredding the fuck outa the Lightning hoods and maybe a bit of the White Flayers with my aircraft, EMP missiles really do wonders on them so I dont need to worry about using a laser craft for the time being

the fact my older fighters still do their job well despite being near disposable units is quite impressive, though this is still my first campaign in FtD

Soemtimes you just find a design that's really efficient, its hard to change it around if it works and is cheap

First few campaigns I did I focused a lot on cheap helicopters, you can make some pretty tiny designs for next to no cost

And can usually be built pretty multipurpose

I've ben trying out different turrets on a new "amazon drone" style ship I made, including slapping on old turrets from previous ships that happened to fit perfectly

Here's it in progress

And this is me going ".. huh, fits right under there doesn't it.."

And so this weird thing was born, it hovers like 1km above the target and just unloads on it, swerving around to aavoid incoming fire with a down facing shield

Uses a very powerful steaam engine to add power to the propellors

Eventually I swapped turrets around a bunch just to mess around with it since it made a fun high altitude platform

Eventually I settled on a rapid fire 6 barrel 60mm and got it down to 345 rounds/minute

The shell itself being my go-to high velocity impact round

Not crazy effective but pretty fun

It can pretty much drill a hole straight to the AI of a ship from 1km in the air like halfway across the map

But takes a while, it's too weak and shitty to take much return fire of its own

The design's meant for cheapness more for aesthetics or survivability though, just a high altitude glass cannon

Has some insane maneuverability and great gun stability though

exception is if you're really trying to crack open an onyx watch ship

though if you're using low caliber guns might I suggest using pure kinetic spam instead

That looks fine, fuel engines are mostly just Tetris, hooking up the superchargers/turbochargers the right way can be a right ass of a hassle tho

Also I almost always recommend high velocity impact rounds over everything else

They're pretty multipurpose

Well unless you want a specialist gun like an EMP cannon

Make like 30-50% of the shell purely accelerant, half the remainder as solid body, the other half as sabot body, and a heavy kinetic cap

And that thing will take out 90% of targets you launch it at

Esspecially if you up to the caliber to say, 300mm or so

But it works just fine scaled down to rapid fire AA spam since it can actually fire fast enough to hit air targets

The shells are bad against shieldss though unless you really fill the air with them

This is one I've been usig lately, experimenting with different propellants

I wanted a reaally, REALLY fast AA round

The stats are for 60mm, upscaled it gets pretty funny, at like 200mm it gets something like a 75km range

This size though the clipss are only 1m which lets you fit autoloaders

I went overkill on that turret though, 1600 shells oops

I should go back and tweak that turret actually, I tested it out quite a bit and I think it'd work better if the caliber was upped, 60mm has to plink off outer layers rather slowly against big ships

Engage - space battle against station in order to disable it.
Raid - using your marines you can sweep in, steal whatever goods you choose, and retreat. (Having station active will make raid more difficult, so busting station before raiding is better if you plan on doing it anyway)

Topographical units don't just map the terrain etc, they also participate in fleshing out those maps with unit positions etc

In the military most topographical units that aren't directly doing literal topography are busy doing everything related to making maps and reports on those maps

It varies from military to military though

I've explained how maps work before but:

The frontline line is purely based on permanent world-spawn sub-region hubs, not actual positions of combat or active frontlines

The only bases reported are publicly visible permanent world-spawns like TH's and Relic bases and other similar hubs, and no details on how exactly they are built or even what tier they are at is given out

The arrows of assault only indicate where the map has changed relative to the last reported map, not the actual active pushes or fronts, just arrows indicating if the line in that area has changed and who it has changed in favor of

and finally, all unit composition NATO symbols are given out via the reports of people who have been operating in that area within the last 24 to 12 hours (depending on time of day of the report being made).

The only symbols allowed are basic NATO ones with no extra information added to the symbol outside of what the majority of forces there consist of

I should also add that the only locations reported on are world bases within 1 degree of separation from the maps line of conflict

Technically NATO symbology would let me go this in-depth and even more in-depth with every reporting

however I find this to be an insane levle of OPSEC leaking and I forbid it from being present in the maps at all, in fact, I forbid liaisons from sending me screenshots or telling me about regiments that are there or even how strong they are etc

i'll only accept something like this, which only means "in this general area by this world spawn, forces consisted of mainly armor, as of the interpretation of someone who was in that area or near it personally...within the last half day or day or so. No further elaboration"

Adding in NATO symbol reportings was not something I took into account lightly, and it took me a good bit of thinking in order to iron out a method of reporting them that doesn't compromise anyone

Reports only mark a general idea of the state of the war on a specific in-game day as well, and by the time the map is done and reported at least a few hours have passed so the viability of that info is tedious at best, especially when those unit reportings might be almost 24h old

It's purely for documenting and providing people with something interesting to look at, since there is very little proper documentation on the wars on a macro level, even in things like Foxholestats

Hope that answers most of your questions

and of course, if anyone in staff asks me to stop doing it because they don't approve of it, I'll drop the mapping project entirely.

It'd be a shame, since people seem to like it a lot though, and I believe it has a positive influence on the community

i get your point and understand it but again given how foxhole work they can and should test things out

logi town a easy to implement compared to a new gamedesign that would reduce the amont of work needed for logi like trains / player-made logi structure, or somethong more simple like a vehicle, like a flatbed with 5 crate on his back and a freighter with 15 for lategame

LMB gameplay, long drives and repetitive content are quintessentially logistics

The game is still good and fun and rewarding in spite of that, maybe because of what it actually is, but that's what it is

sure but as l9ng the war progress new structure or vehicle could reduce the amont of work thats was already proposed but different mine tier for early-mid-late reduce the amont of harvesting being done

same if one day they make salvage/comp/sulfur firld upgradable to include a giant harvester or trains or airfield removing the need to travel, everything would reduce by a couple of minutes or hours a single logi-boy daily work or increase his productivity and so the amont of work needed

i'm not even a full time logi, it's boring AF but i don't understand why there 10 new tanks, new weapons and only QOL change for logi, would it be that difficult to create a 30slot truck or a faster one? it's already extreamly punishing to loss a freighter with 5 crate it is really neccesary to include a 1h30 delivery time + farming behind to the loss, if it's not the entire seaport being taken by the opposite faction
