Have been up since the war started and only now have they disappeared
Apparently we destroyed two columns near Makarov
I originally thought they landed them to ease tensions after Putin’s increase in nuclear response
Yeah they'd have no reason to stop watching the airspace
Plus you can see most of Ukraine from over the border
Doubtful honestly, probably turned them off due to his threats but bet they're still up
The range on the e3 that was circling is like 500 miles?
Is that neat Kyiv or more closer to the coast? I don't have the geography down perfectly
It’s on the river Dneiper north close to Belarus
West from Kiev
Oh shit I read that wrong mb disregard
my geography knowledge of ukraine has increased substantially in the past couple of days
for some reason
My geography knowledge of Eastern Europe in general has increased
US people be like:
I've always been pretty interested in eastern europe's history and culture so I already had an idea of city locations and such

Yeah either one or the other
as well as geography there
Now I'm on my phone so I'm not sure how convincing this would be when larger but what do you think of this image? https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/543524571056177158/777704278893920276/unknown.png
Funnily enough I’m Australian so it’s not as bad
noone in my family wants to geography or history very sad
I dunno city’s but I can tell what nations are where
Thanks awesome
Although if it were an American I’d imagine their whole knowledge of the entirety of Europe would be improved
How’s it feel to constantly live upside down?
You get used to all the blood flowing down to your brains
Dont trust anything this twitter says, its all been garbage
I wish people in my country cared about geography and stuff more lol
@analog depot I think they are still up, I can see a RAF tanker moving over the North Sea
I guess it’s transponder is on for now
Correct
just block it at this point
I mean with how Russian troops have been handled I wouldn't be shocked if it was real KEKW
Russia, China, and the US ain’t what they used to be back in 1945
Did you guys finally get more first aid kits? I saw something about a delivery
https://twitter.com/Osinttechnical/status/1498153314948628487?t=0oALMxv46cE3iR4Rtx1NaQ&s=19
You love to see stuff like this
NATO E-3 headed towards eastern Poland to provide the Ukrainians with AWACS coverage. https://t.co/rsB7xdcmyF

No...but we are getting man pads :)
Where’ve you been this whole war?
At reserve QRF base near Kiev
he is reserve, so probably kept him in kyiv
Oof
You know, hilariously enough I think it’s over the top on the appearance
Why lol?
cuz you deserve it
You know Cryner can’t leave Ukraine
yee thats why I said after all this
Ah
AWACS is op af
devs need to nerf
Nah
Dev Bias
Russia needs more nerfs
dont think thats possible at this point
Ukraine gets sledgehammers to start off ggez
Is it me or NYT is down?
China could our right abandon the( though I don’t think that will happen)
nah, remember the devs use equipment balance to deal with faction skill issue
wdym russia starts off with attack helicopters and battle tanks while ukraine gets cocktail molotov
there should be a few more live sources if you need links nick
https://twitter.com/sentdefender this fella has had some reliable news so far

Ukraine is like wardens with no early AT but the stuff they do have, manage to make use of it very well. Those Javs and Stingers is mostly all they got and they using them like crazy
its like Late war AT dialed up to 11
Nah, Ukraine has a full proper modern military
Heyo everyone
Surprise surprise, the president of Brazil is pro-russia (basically the Trump of brazil, same style, etc)
wow
Speaking at a news conference while on vacation, Bolsonaro said Ukrainians had "trusted a comedian with the fate of a nation"
Still a better leader than Bolsonaro, which has botched everything he has touched so far
do you live in brazil?
I think of all regions of the world, south america is the one I have the least knowledge of RN
More and more military aid being sent to ukraine
Seems they had to route aid thru NATO partners, but now they can send it direct
No, but I grew up in Colombia
For the most part, right now most countries in south america are led by leftist parties
with a few exceptions like Colombia
...for now
South America is really complex, from what I heard. Lots of CIA meddling in everything to keep it favourable for US business interests.
That was in like the 70s and 80s
its how south america ended up with a bunch of dictatorships
I do really want to learn more about the place, as most of my expertise is on the other side of the planet
I'd like to imagine Australias lethal weapon being Emus
Couldn't beat them twice, what is Russia gonna do, try bomb them? Good luck.
These new planes being given to Ukraine is gonna be huge
New to them, at least. Theres reports of them in the air already, tonight
If Gabe Newell showed up to my house I would run and hide, I would assume I was in trouble.
However, he’s going around the Seattle area, HAND DELIVERING the Steam Deck.
I don’t believe in Valves track record on sticking with things, but wow, I really like that. https://t.co/bTksTX37qE

idk if real
that does look like gabe tho
I like gabe newell's beard
My man just wants to do tech doordash
So seems the reason why they were able to hit the sanctions on russia so quickly is because the US had been pushing them for the last couple months to prepare for this
Since like november
They are always trying to push for them
no, its since they built up forces on ukraine border and threatened the invasion
US intel probably knew the Invasion was going to happen
Russian soldiers dont seem to be aware it was happing lmao
Brazil is in a spot very similar to china
Economic ties to russia but allegiance to the west due to all that aforementioned CIA trolling
That article is from december 3rd, already by then russia had activated the reservists
I wrote a whole essay for college last year on why I believed the invasion was going to happen in that year, then it didnt happen and happend this year
Ring your professor
To be fair, it is pretty irrational for it to happen in the first place
if gabe newell showed up at your doorstep what would you do
trust me I was actually pretty happy when I thought I was wrong
Immediately give him all of my worldly possessions before he could incinerate me
Hold up a 3 and exorcise him
due to RAIDS
Wasnt there like one plane that just said fuck it and went through?
Or was that just a meme
Air india
might be, but it would be very unwise
Yeah 0 fucks given by the Indians
Ah
Now it is time to argue if cab-over military vehicles are better than front engine military vehicles
Yu known Im starting to question rather or nor russia is actually our peer
What you mean?
I mean. Ukrainians kinda kicking their ass right now. And apparently still havent learned proper logistics
anyone know who controls Gornyak rn?
Its part of the problem in dictatorships like this, they can't have strong commanders or else they would be a threat to putin. Also, because the military is what keeps him in power, its highly corrupt so influence reigns over skill
common issue
Wait.. Ukrainians? You are refering to the Russian lack of logistics?
maybe maybe not
Im referring to both
china is actually quite smart
To some degree yes, but there its a committee that runs the country so it tends to work a bit better
looking at their military history and just in general
To be fair Ukrainian logistic issue is understandable
The big fight for today will be Mariupol
Yeah lol. Russia does tend to look good on paper but completely fuck up in practice. Literally the same story in every conflict they were involved in during the last century.
i think he meant russian logistics issues, leading to ukraine kicking their ass
Individual reports of air attacks on ukranian positions
Yeah, bustards are trying to create south-east bridge
You still doing good in kiev brother?
Kyiv*
I am not aware of any severe issues with Ukrainian logistics. It seems adequate for its situation, things are moving.
My apologies, Kyiv
Careful you’ll anger him
I'm in Kyiv itself
XD
But I'm doing good
@limber vault I heard that NATO supplies arrived everyone armed to the teeth now?
Never eaten this good in the army previously XD
I mean at some point ukraine has to fall back and use the Dnieper river as a natural barrier
China seems to have a tendency to fragment in conflict. But then again its hard to say since they havent really been at war with a external force in a while.
Nah, we still waiting for manpads
Why fall back when they dont have to?
Any update on the EU planes that got issued?
Wait. Theyve been using Manpad to shoots down Hinds and stuff though..
They are having a hard time in the south. They are overextended and already lost Berdyansk
I've been hearing various things about em
Berdyansk fell without a fight, no troops there
Also I think this is the first war where were seeing so much
Apparently Polish and Com Bloc MiG-29s
That's other front
Like so much is being captured on camera
Mariupol is the furthest point on their supply line, harder to maintain
nahh its just the first european one
Right, but more how the new planes have been effectively used
Well I mean
eh
theres tonsss of footage from syria
I was seeing stuff like this back in Libya days
there are helmet cam livestreams and shit
But its a lot more present now
that only fell today I think, up to then the ukrainians held them off
Even in yhe middle east, over all theres not that much footage is there? And those arent organized conflict likes this
Not the first time, WW2 had literal guys recording and making movies to show the world what was happening... with added propaganda of course
Syria has been ongoing though. Wasn't a truly first day of hostilities
When Iraq
It's just the first time we're seeing it on the internet freely
This is the first peer-on-peer conflict since like the 50s
And the first such conflict of the information age
Well, we have more footage a few days in Ukraine than months of Iraq
Were seeing attack helicopters used in mass, paratroopers deployed, tank battles, dog fights, missles strikes, all caught on camera.
Havent seen any dogfights or paratrooper deployments yet
I dont think thats happened in any other way all together
there is plenty of that
The russians were allegedly using a crowdsourcing software (now taken down) to correct artillery
Heard about a paratrooper deployment around Odessa. Word is none made it to shore in the freezing water.
Man, I wish ukraine would come back so strong they would bomb belarus as a lesson
LOL
War* where?
there are tens of thousands of hours of footage from syria
Though what im really interested in is footage of the attempted naval landings in the south. Heard one got pretty cut up
Fake report
Foxhole calculator?
yes we know
Ya know if we had a stronger leader now would be the perfect time..
but again syria happened over time and at the end of the day wasn't a single invasion/intervention
Many stages to it
Probably would end well though unless the Russian's kicked putin
Which they should
that's true but we have footage of all of this stuff from there as well
Could be, lots of misinformation is floating around.
the comparison people have been going for is the last time you saw a major invasion, which would have to be Iraq
It feels like the first war where there's so many ways to view it in a live format at least more people are viewing it in a live format if that makes sense
except maybe paratrooper deployments but idk if ive seen any videos of paratroopers in ukraine
No verified videos of paratroopers
Yeah buts its usually not..coherent, yu know?
Some heli-borne assault groups
Like weve got some from this war some from that
and we don't have videos of iraq the way we do of this
Never all together and in the span of a few days
It's odd to see two militaries clashing in this way and have it recorded like this
It feels like the first war where literally nothing can be truly secret for long to the public
War in the digital age
Exactly
And this is all the public stuff
I do respect that no one seems to be commiting war crimes..on purpose at least
welllll
um
If you wanted to have a camera in the Iraq days you had to buy specifically a camera. Nowadays its build in your phone and comes with an internet connection
Shit
I'm sure that apartment building had it coming
Did they do that on purpose though?
Syria had a few webcams I think but I dont remember there being many when I attempted to view it in the way i've been viewing this
That 14 year old and kindergarden class must have been targets
use of indiscriminate weaponry is a war crime
Also theres the use of Ukranian uniforms day 1
....so we arent allowed to use artillery then?
Attacks on hospitals + marked medical vehicles
Just don't throw your artillery at a city 4head.
honestly, the first war in the information age was desert storm. its what made CNN famous, by reporting live from baghdad during the initial strikes and days later
Plus close range shooting of civilians has been documented, womans mom got killed in front of her
i've heard like several peopel from kyiv saying that their ambulances were getting lit up
live, on the air, etc
Nvm..
True Necrotic, thats moreso the first cable news war
Artillery isn't considered indiscriminate.
Cluster Bombs and MLRS are.
A preschool in north-eastern Ukraine was hit on the morning of 25 February with widely-banned cluster munitions while civilians took shelter inside, killing three of them, including a child, and wounding another child, Amnesty International said today. The attack appears to have been carried out by Russian forces, which were operating nearby, an...
so horrible
This isnt the first war in the information age; this is the first war where civilians in distant lands can accurately tell what's going on to some extent and not rely fully on media outlets and heresay, but thats just my opinion, and I dont think I can communicate that accurately in a short message
Aye, artillery hits where you point the thing
Because despite seeing some just completely incorrect stuff from us unwashed masses, It feels like more and more people have a somewhat decent understanding of whats going on
How is artillery not consider indiscriminate? Especially a barrage?
And no it doesnt
Not always
war crimes are generally written by people who would prefer not to define themselves as war criminals, so believe me when I say they are... permissive of some things we might consider shocking. Killing civilians by accident isn't a warcrime in-and-of-itself.
The intent of such laws is to define them in a way that when people are committing warcrimes, it's over a line.
it's not "war as usual"
I wonder, couldn't you execute these as spies? I doubt they would be running around Kyiv with a uniform
They are a-ok to execute
Because the artillery shells land where you point them at. They are able to specifically target military targets only. Thus able to avoid maiming civilians.. if you dont intent to
Even in peacetime it's tradition for countries to disavow spies
Though technically all Ukrainian citizens are "non-combatants" too
don't get caught
But then whats is and isnt a military target in a city?
But the geneva convention isnt really anyone's bible at this moment
What*
if you are actually curious there are actually rules about this, it's not a philosophical topic
Usually a military target is something that contributes to the war cause
a urban block where civilians live is NOT a military target
People, mostly lawyers, generals, and diplomats, have hammered out exactly what constitutes legitimate military targets. I am not personally cable of describing that in detail so if you are intending to sight for artillery IANAL
america did fire bombing of japan during ww2, or russians encircled Berlin and just hit it with arty for a long time
plenty of things that are somewhat acceptable
Whereass a storage depot where military vehicles are held will probably be considered one
If you wear the proper uniform you are not considered to be a spy. Thus you are allowed to be behind enemy lines if you are in uniform.
If you are firing artillery into a city you are running the risk of hitting civilians, if you do not have accurate info on what you are about to hit then that is on you imo
The current geneva convention was signed after WW2, 1949
"allowed" is a strong word 😂
the rights you have are much higher than if you are not wearing a uniform
just means that they would be treated as a POW with rights
If you are caught without uniform, you can expect to be killed. Especially with those who have proven to have more disregard for the rules of war
im trying to think of an analogy for indiscriminate bombing but I cant think of a good one tbh
at the time strategic bombing was an acceptable usage of bombers. As accuracy has improved (bombs were incredibly inaccurate in WW2, "The average circular error in 1943 was 1,200 feet, meaning that only 16 percent of the bombs fell within 1,000 feet of the aiming point") and the general ineffectiveness of such strategies became clear laws what is/is not acceptable changed
Plain and simple, you are not allowed to kill or risk killing too many civilians
this will probably come across as a weak analogy, but I thought of it like telling a guy there is either a civilian or a guy about to shoot him behind a door, if he himself fires he risks hitting one or the other but there's no way for him to tell who's behind the door. best way I can think to describe it
"throwing darts at a board you can't see" close enough?
You are even in violation if you target militairy installations with the knowledge that many civilians are present
a good way of answering this question is to ask yourself that if you really want people asking you this in front of the Hague.
That seems to be a good one
Under the law of armed conflict (LOAC), the death of non-combatants is not necessarily a violation; there are many things to take into account. Civilians cannot be made the object of an attack, but the death/injury of civilians while conducting an attack on a military objective are governed under principles such as of proportionality and military necessity and can be permissible. Military necessity "permits the destruction of life of ... persons whose destruction is incidentally unavoidable by the armed conflicts of the war; ... it does not permit the killing of innocent inhabitants for purposes of revenge or the satisfaction of a lust to kill. The destruction of property to be lawful must be imperatively demanded by the necessities of war."[45]
it's too late in the evening to get my international law book out so this will have to do
All in all, bombing a city is usually just not a good idea if you're trying to convince them you're just trying to reintigrate them into your society
It gets very murky, when say one side uses human shields in order to protect an emplacement
either way
The broad idea is to minimise the harm done to civilians. Just keep them as much as possible out of the conflict
common issue in palestine, they move around heavily populated areas shooting mortars
point is that russia has... committed some actions that I would not want to be the lawyer for
the only issue is, you will never get them into the ICJ as long as putin is there
omg i can see a babushka feeding like a million pigeons
true. sun is rising isn't it?
it's past dawn
shit, i g2g sleep
The Chechens remember
gn ppl
past dawn, right
Sun risen like 2 hours ago here
There were unsubstantiated rumours that Monday was the deadline given to the russian armed forces to capture Kyiv or Kharkiv
They will get neither, but might create a south-east bridge
I would be suprised if there was a plan other than take city
If this is accurate, the Russian army aint doing so hot
Only 2 drones? Such a shame
Russia doesnt seem to use much
I dunno about you guys I wanna hear about these boats
they probably used barges and sticky nades
likely not
😛
as much as i wouldnt trust russian source, i too wouldnt trust ukrainian
I suspect it might be the one stranded without fuel asking some gorgian ship for fuel
thing is, that is only a small portion of russian arsenal
1.16800% of all russian tanks according to quick google search. interesting
I've seen some US intel too
but by the videos and what we do know, it does seem somewhat accurate
the BUK kill was on video
i want to know ukrainian losses too
I honestly forgot russia had 12,000 tanks
keep in mind it cannot use all its arsenal on Ukraine alone. It still needs to man the borders
I could actually believe it considering the original numbers posted came from a Russian official's email (it was quickly deleted too)
its like no media talking about ukrainian losses, despite they got their bases getting glassed by the first few hours
Well.. But thats the thing
probably higher
I don't think that is the same thing you think it is
Last number I saw was 500 soldiers dead
Oh damn they got a Buk?
Revenge for MH17 achieved
If theres a large apartment complex and gets turned into a enemy stronghold, isnt it a legitimate military target?
Honestly there's no information about that, but we do hear about military personnel dying, like the guy who blow up bridge with himself
If you have proof that you had a reason to believe that was true yes
i mean ofc you would hear stories like that
Yep, they got it on camera. Ukrainian drone got it when it was stranded without fuel.
why bother sharing bad news
If a factory making tanks parts is being staffed by civilians, isnt it stilp a legitimate target? A dry dock? A shipyard? Ports?
yes
yeah, no point in sharing bad news about ukraine, need them to be at highest morale
Yes
I would guess ukrainian losses are either similar to or higher than russians, which percentage of those deaths is military would be debatable tbh
You are talking as if you think you are going to make me think about these for the first time
share russian losses to shame them is fair game as the aggressors
that's what i dont like tbh, i just want to see both side of the war
I..? I didnt know we were disagreeing
all i see rn is media making it seems like ukraine is close to total victory
Man, I gotta be honest, hearing about our loses only makes us angrier
I dont really know who you are, and I doubt you know who I am
There is a distinction between working in the factory, and just being in the same building that happens to be a residential building
you are asking questions as if you are expecting me to say no or be confused but I already said my entire position on this
but in any case, I think you can claim they chose that building to have human shields. So the defenders in that case would be held accountable as well
likely we will see the true numbers after the war has ended. It seems that the russian offensive has not caused enough casualties on the ukrainian side to push them back significantly enough yet, so take that with what you will
- How am I doing that? And 2. Why would I want that?
I'm literally over here like
To be honest it would be best to keep demoralising the Russians. The russian soldiers are practically kids, with many seeming to be unaware what they are even doing.
Thats why they choose specific people, like the bridge guy in crimea
I recall a few days back they reported about 160 dead after the first day.
My X key nearly failed from all the doubt. I don't think we're going to get an honest appraisal from either side for a few weeks.
They have mostly been reported civilian losses, to pressure russia
You are asking questions like this
Well.. But thats the thing
when i said
Under the law of armed conflict (LOAC), the death of non-combatants is not necessarily a violation; there are many things to take into account.
At some point Russia has to admit a shitload of 20 year olds just fucking died, and Ukraine's going to have to admit to the families what they've lost
Their logistics alone is enough to demoralize them 💀
I don't know why you wouldwant to do that
I mean, angry soldiers might start executing Russians like 1945 so...
but I am bored of repeating myself either way
and im not even joking
Lol
theyre begging locals for gas
it's 1:30 AM so I will sleep
Dude chill. I was never arguing with you to begin with
you know the army russia has sent so far is conscripted, equipped with outdated military equipment?
not true
you can see the lack of discipline like leaving tank without destroying it
Yeah, the funniest moment when drove to police station and asked them XD
*mostly true
Im just asking question for sake of pondering them
Cryner, air raid siren?
i've seen many instances of modern equipment being used
average russian intellectual on god
Huh?
also afaik russians cant access most media social
Is Kyiv air raid siren going off?
twitter etc
I think theyve mostly been using older stuff
Imagine hearing your child has been captured in Ukraine. Wondering what the fuck they are even doing there
I'm near Kyiv, but far enough to not hear sirens
russians do have access to other sources of news outside of russia, as well as social media sites
Even with how loud they are? Sheeesh. Was just asking in case this live cam was on a loop
To be fair we're not seeing the whole picture of any of these things. It's easy to armchair drill sgt this whole shebang, but we aren't there, we don't know what's actually happening beyond the tiny glimpses that we can see through a phone camera 100m away.
Living somewhere southwards from kyiv?
that's the problem, so far we only see one side (ukrainian)
i want to see both
Thats not a lack of discipline if they dont have a means to destroy it.
I don't think the idea that russians are using mostly outdated stuff is true, like yeah we're seeing it, but thats not all thats present there right now
Well I think its a mix
progress of each fronts, movements from both sides
Usually sound travels like 1-2 km from source, plus buildings can obstruct sound waves
But then again most modern stuff is just upgraded late cold war stuff
So its hard to tell
They are using a mix of modern and old
All russian tanks look the same anyway..
Russian army will use whatever was available to be send. They wont pull T-90s from the other side of the country
I just wouldn't say it's fair to say the russians are only using old equipment, which ive seen a fair few people saying
if someone tell me that russia is dumping old equipment at ukraine to cut upkeep cost i wont be surprised
Why are they all on the other side of the country?
T90's are definitely apart of it, some Ukrainian guy was calling them trash after coming across a destroyed one. Not sure how many are being used but there are a few
Wouldnt surprise me if the T90 isnt as good as reported.
Tanks are pretty redundant in the modern day 🤷
Haven't seen any destroyed T90
Like the T34. Decent on paper, not so much in practice.
Seen T80 though
No they are not
Yea it was only a singular video of it, definitely was a T90 by the looks of it
Expensive and demanding on your supplylines
personal anti-tank/air weapons have advanced very fast in the last decades alongside tanks
Theyve always been that
Also tanks are not so much as redundant as more or less, they've become a glass cannon that still offers SOME protection
And modern tanks have counter measures. Just because theres a good counter to something doesnt mean its redundant.
@analog depot okay, now siren is here
If your an infantryman and theres a tank with you I garuntee you wouldnt thing of them as redundant. Especially if theyre well protected. From what Ive heard the russians arent using the right amount of infantry witht their tanks.
stay safe
Ye what Hello said
any result of the talks yet
You would be suprised how little you can travel with a tank. Huge fuel drain and lots of components that will break.
i mean shouldnt there be some sort of cease fire
its more, you can count. Every 5 seconds is a mile if I remember right
unless the talk is over and no peace/cease fire achieved
Also not using enough tanks with their tanks, seems like majority are grouped in 4's, without infantry support too
I work with x tankers, so I dont think I would be surprised. Again tanks have always been fuel hungry. This isnt knew and doesnt make them obsolescent.
New*
so for my metric friends, if you see a flash and count. Every 3 seconds is a km
Eh, best tactic would be to avoid anti-tank installations with your tanks
Exactly why I was confused lol
its a useful trick to figure out where the center of a lightning storm is in respect to you
several livestreams of kyiv are using a fake looped audio
I remember every second being 300 meters or so
The speed of sound
2nd siren going off
343m/s
340m/s or something
I'm not too sure if this article is trustworthy but according to it, the peace talks won't work
not sure why but several websites hosting the kyiv live streams aren't using real audio and havent for several hours, my theory is this is to boost viewcount since live streams with sounds are more popular
"A source closely connected to the group’s activities confirmed that a total of between 2,000 and 4,000 mercenaries had arrived in Ukraine in January. Some were deployed to the disputed eastern regions of Donetsk and Luhansk. Another 400 entered from Belarus and made their way to the capital.
The mercenaries have been told that Putin wants a brief pause to show that he is negotiating with Zelensky, but assured them that no deal would be reached and that the effort would be simply “smoke and mirrors”, according to a source close to senior members of the Wagner Group."
"The mercenaries are awaiting a signal from the Kremlin and have been promised hefty bonuses for killings in the next few days and safe passage out of Ukraine before the end of the week.
In addition to Zelensky their hit list contains 23 other figures, including the prime minister, the cabinet, the mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko and his brother Wladimir, both popular former boxing champions who have joined the military fight against the invaders."
Varies on the atmosphere somewhat but around that number indeed. Speed of sound
i wouldnt trust ukrainian president statement just as i wouldnt trust putin's
its so easy to throw accusations especially when you have a media backing you
Theoretically if man portable missles and systems can take down tanks and helicopters and whatnot
Are we going to return to ww1 trench warfare since vehicles will just get whacked
russian state owned media for putin, and any other piece of media for zelensky
Trench warfare never left, it's just not the same large mazes you saw during ww1
I would be more trusting of Ukranian sources than Russian sources. But with both you need to keep their biases in mind.
Fighting in trenches is still used in modern combat, its just downsized a bit more since most militaries usually try to stay mobile and shit
we moved to guerrilla warfare instead
Also im gonna attempt to make steak with the advice of people here from several days ago 👍
i've seen russian source from telegram and i'm gonna be honest they do seem more neutral, as they're more focused on troops movement, resistance from ukrainian side
rather than posting dead bodies and burning vehicles
godspeed you magnificent bastard
Not Neutral, they're reporting 0 losses. Sorry, 1 loss. That's all Putin has reported.
media now feels like someone saying in world chat, "we killed 1 tank urraaa" while a vp is being surrounded by 20
@vivid notch they are in different circumstances. Ukraine has to try to break the morale of the russians. Russians are trying to downplay any damage they may have done
It wasn't even just the tank that killed trench warfare. Radio, precision artillery, and the development of infantry infiltration tactics were huge as well.
By WW2 the tanks weren't needed for trench pushes, they were just a major amplifier.
me going into the nuking feet first
very true
If you take a Russian source which tries to map Ukrainian troop movement vs Ukrainian source trying to demoralise their enemy. It would make logical sense. Ukranian troop movements are actively being hidden to make it harder for Russian army to keep track of
Sirens finally silent
russia's new years present this year is hours and hours of air raid sirens
How’s things going
Think somethings going on at mariupol
One might think that something could be going on at mariupol
Did the Russians manage to take the city yet or they still asking for fuel at the police station?
from what im seeing just kinda sounds like they're doing what they're doing everywhere else
We need to air drop some monsters into the Ukrain. Then theyll really get to work.
Ukraine*
saw some pro russian accounts sharing videos of their guys outside mariupol but so far I havent see much from inside mariupol
I would think the city would have been taken with 24 hours. How.. they got control of the sea, its close to the borders, far supply lines (especially from poland).
No, because air bombing and rocket launchers exist. Trenches are still here, but against a specialised attack they are useless
those accounts also really like the satellite image of the 64 km russian convoy thing from a few hours ago
If any city would fall it would be that one
That is a very bad strategy btw
yeah... seems like the intention of it is to project power
While risking being stuck in traffic.
its a great way to get missiled
Hit the front and the entire convoy has to stop or find a way around
I know we want info from both sides, but judging what i've seen from pro-russian media and social media... it's just not a contest
I hope there wont be too many unnecessary sanctions against Russia, it's already enough really
i dont think i cooked it fully, but i still ate it
Have fun throwing up then if that’s the case
uhhhh
uh oh
i mean the areas along the ends tasted good and were hot
but the middle inside was uhhhh
kinda not warm?
but then again i ate under a fan

If you judged wrong your stomach will let you know 🤢
Well
I would think that you know from foxhole how hard is to take city. Its like attacking fortrest where from almost every possible angle someone can kill you.
hmmmm
It’s still edible
yayyyyyy
I think that’s the first time I’ve seen an actual blue rare steak
uh oh
Hey man it’s all down to preference
i didnt want to burn the outside tho :(
It doesnt help that Russian forces dont have a consistent logistical sectiom to support their massive quantities of mechanized/motorized vehicles and tanks either
If it is beef it should be fine to eat raw
No send russia economy back to stone age
And an unfriendly civilian population makes it even more untenable
@somber egret do you not know how to cook orrrrr
Lol I over exaggerated a bit
And then throw those same undersupplied and low morale conscripts into a urban combat situation
This is a blue
...
no not really
And you got a recipe for a disaster
Uh
i can cook pasta
That’s not good
but meat i have no idea what im doing
I’ve been cooking steaks and learned a lot about it
so ive been living like meat free for several months
plus shimp
My favorite is medium rare with lots of seasoning
Conscripts are already notorious for poor morale (and poor performance)
As someone who has a lot of experience with cooking meat, that is not cooked
it’s still raw
I’m a basic bitch for cooking
and I like medium rare
This, only way in my mind to take large city withouth blood bath on your side is to denay it any supplies and maybe in a half year they will surender.
Technically it should be fine since the outside is cooked
If they touch Klitschkos I will send another donation to Ukraine army out of spite

As long as the outside is cooked with most cuts of steak it’s usually safe to eat, if you’re into that sorta thing….
That would mean Russian soldiers would have to bypass the majority of the Ukranian country side and encircle all major industrial/civilian enclaves
If you outnumber it enough and cut any hope for resupplies, you would see cities quickly surrendering
Im sorry if you are russian, but know that hate on your guvorment and now also at population is strong. Thats the price you must pay for letting that baboon to rulle for so long.
I usually can consistently get medium rare with like 6 minutes either side at higher levels of heat
he's doing and we paying
and he's not paying at all
Tibby if you get any stomach aches
The Russian people cant be put to blame for an autocrat taking advantage of a large populace
Then uhh go see a doctor
as well as sanctions won't get our country back to stoneage, but they will shit on population
Same thing Mussolini did and Hitler and Franco and Gaddafi
Its an endless list
it's beef so if it's fresh you should be fine even if it's totally raw
What lavender said
although he was ruling for so long because he was the best option we had
now every other potential president is better than this tyrant
JUST in case you get any stomach ache go see a doctor
I wonder how Putin would manage to get out of this situation.. Lot of powerful people got fucked over by the shenanigans
he won't last at all, just the oligarchs because of whom he's a president won't let him
There’s always a chance of infection
Yeah it’s not impossible to get a bad cut of beef tbh
He won't. There is NO way to get out of this, he is totally fucked
No physically possible in this universe way to recover from this, he must pray for oligarchs to not shoot him
I think you need to leave discord for a little bit buddy
it's not impossible but at least you didn't eat raw chicken or pork lmao
Yea
Russian economy is tanking and lots of assets are being frozen.. lots of lives being ruined.. lots of money on the line
You won't die from eating raw steak but try to cook it a bit more next time xd
Yeah that's why he ain't lasting long
The situation was already poor for two decades but he managed to ruin it even more
Turn down the heat
BREAKING: Belarus preparing to send soldiers into Ukraine in support of Russia's invasion as early as Monday, U.S. official says - WaPo

How did you cook it?
And just when you thought it couldn’t get worse
It got worse
on a pan with butter
UwU time to crash belarus's economy
Generally with steaks you should not be cooking at full power
That’s how you get a cooked outside and raw inside
i was at like.... 1/4th or half power i think
Well not very much worse at least
Do you have a grill or anything? Pan with butter is just closer to frying the outside if you're not experienced
its too cold for grilling outside
Then warm the outside with a grill
With beef you can get away with eating it raw if you heated the outside enough. (where the bacteria would mostlikely be)
Sorry, after hearing for years how russia could take Latvia in less that two hours if they wanted, hearing how we arent really a state, hearing how genocide before and after second world war didnt happen and how tens of tousands of people didnt get sent to gulags and didnt die there. I dont care. All I wish to see is russia economy back in stone age, and a lot more, but telling that will get me banned. All I want now is for russia to be so week that they cant pose threat to my home for next milenium.
Standing by and doing nothing while rusdia is waging war to me now is the same as supporting this stupid war.
whats life like over there in russia?
Hopes that Putin will show at least a bit of mercy and will leave at least a part of Ukraine independent
Tibby this is very basic bitch instructions for steak but what I usually do is: defrost steak for 1 day before cooking if it was in the freezer, season it with salt, pepper, and some other seasonings, usually whatever I’m cooking on I use vegetable oil. At high heats, you can usually reliably get medium rare steak at 5-6 minutes, then at the end add in the butter. I’m pretty new to cooking but that’s mostly what I do. Lmk if that helps or it comes across as crazy lol
infinate produced warmth
ohhhh, i threw the butter in first and then the steak, and was at like... low heat cause i didnt want to burn the outside
Stop, youre making me hungry
Oh shut I said one part wrong
Throw in some garlic and whatever else you like for flavor
5-6 minutes for each side
: (
OH
Russia was a good guy for the majority of Russian history. The only threat is some wrong guy using it in a bad way, like Putin. Russia must thrive otherwise, we can get more powerful, we have enough resources
Wont even let them join a defensive pact without threatening their lives
There we go
i only did like 5 or 6 or 7 mins total i think
How I cook it is a lot slower, if frozen let it defrost for like 6-7 hours, shear the outsides on a hot grill so that moisture wont get out and season in between shears, then place it inside the grill away from the flame to let it slow cook for about 20-30 minutes
poor
not african level of poor, but the poorest by the marks of europe
That’s what I do 😈
Having a competent command staff helps
how much is a loaf of bread over there
In baltic they never were good guys.
You should start a cooking show
i wanna know how much impact the sanctions inflicted
dunno like 50 rubles last time
And then make cooking products and advertise them on that cooking show
Foxhole meme cooking show
I would honestly not mind. If it had actual stuff I can eat
do u think the price will get higher?
how much is it now
enough for oligarchs to turn angry on putin, he ruined their lives so they'll ruin his
Having command staff helps
Next time you make a stake defrost it then add lemon and pepper seasoning and cook it at medium for 5 minutes each side
yup, already happening
I might try this out if I ever have the free time for a slow cook lol
maybe a bit higher already idk
good i hope it dosent have to last atleast a month
there are a couple videos on youtube, learning how to shear the steak is a must
By shear do you mean remove fatty parts or?
I heard there was a run on the banks, did you go?
no def not, keep the fatty parts
No, it's a suicide mostly lol
shear is kinda like a quick fry on every surface
I like a cast iron pan for steak
No. Cut it into a perfectly rectangular slab
do u guys think that ukraine can push back the russians out of the territory???
or are we talking about different runs
Well not fry
might be the same one
Not quite sure if shearing is different way to say what I’m thinking
Alone? Oh hell nah
as in robbing?
Oh nvm
nope :/
The way shearing works is you get high temp fire and flame, then place the steak on top for only like 20-30 seconds
i will definatly cook it longer
but my steak was just refridgerated
then flip until the ENTIRE outside is like that
when done properly, no juices will escape when slow cooking
and the steak will be very juicy
I think I have done “shearing” before but never had a name for it when cooking in cold temperature
cant really imagine what would the outcome would be even if they did took ukraine
Fucking steak, man. All im going to want is steak, all week long
pretty sure it will still be at war and the sanctions would continue???
With support from rest of the world and already low russian troop morale, I think its possible in time, righ now not really
What is up with steak?
cry about it
Nothing good will happen if Russia occupies most of Ukraine
Seething
coping
oof
Like that steak
Last time we had one we pushed Napoleon back and kinda saved the whole Europe, not to brag
All Ukraine seems to have to do is outlast the Russian cash reserves. Russia is paying a lot more money than Ukraine rn. No money makes for angry soldiers
Juicy, tender steak
i can post my uncooked steak again to make you not crave it if you want?
Ive developed a craving that id follow unto death to find
bold of you to assume Russia is paying it's soldiers /s
And satisfy
That is to say, even though rare steak isn’t popular, if you like it you can still do it
no its fine you can eat that
XD
Tibby what you did was pretty similar to shearing, it might be salvageable if you try the slow cook thing
Its steak no matter how you cook it
Ofc you might miss-time it and end up with well-done
That was deeper than intended
They did 3 months advanced pay with the Feb 14th conscription call ups
🎩
🧐 Slave labour, how traditional
Not sure how I go from talking about cooking to a literal war in this channel
Saved or took over land that wasnt yours to begin with.
unless you barely cook it
then its just beef
Woah.
inkrat chill, hate the gov not the people
Except Ukraine can find people that want to fight for them
My favorite cut to cook is like a tbone, my god that was my favorite to cook
Thousands of Russians are being arrested for being in the anti-war "protests"
God Damnit now I’m gonna go buy a tbone
my favorite is ribeye cap
Get a chuck roast
definitely the best part of the steak
See? This whole topic is cursed!
It is enchanted with enticement III
Imagine surviving a nuclear war only to die of the same disease that’s been plaguing the earth for the past 2 years
T-bone is a lot harder to shear cause you've got to physically hold it up with tongs when doing the sides 😂
C'est la vie
mwahahahaha i started a steak search
Noooo
Yes and made the life there quite better, had a lot of liberalistic reforms, really mostly everyone there liked it
Didn't touch their culture at all either
I typically don’t shear my steaks at all tbh because I cook for my whole family whenever I do cook, and the fun part is they ALL have different preferences for level of doneness
Is this some european reference im too american to understand
I want Alexander the first to stand up from his grave he was good
You talking about Napoleon?
As long as it's not well-done then anything is good lol
Saved from Napoleon
The history of well done steaks is pretty interesting tbh
Yes about the Napoleon wars, after it Russia got Finland and Poland
Knowing how much pain and suffering russia did to my home, and seeing that they try to do the same in Ukraine makes my blood boil. Hell if I would not have job right now I would have been in Ukraine fighting fore them with arms in hands.
Things got a little bumpy with Finland didnt they?
I wonder how steak is typically cooked in Finland
I hope it isnt to try justifying why russia gets to glass them now?
Two railwaymen seized a #Russian armored personnel carrier.
One of the Russian invaders got out of the cab and asked for directions. The railwaymen pointed the way to a dead end. Once trapped, two of the occupants were detained. Two others managed to escape. https://t.co/WI28RsB0AJ

what does gets to glass mean?
Lmfao I saw that a few hours ago
Yes but wishing harm on russia's civilian population is a bit of a reach
Halo reference?
Halo reference
i see
Basically orbital bombardment with lasers until the surface turns to black glass or obsidian
Destroy/kill/annihilate/occupy.
It's like me hating on depressed japanese businessmen for their ancestors actions in pearl harbor and nanking
Yeah considering that we always wanted just peace and good for everyone unlike our recent government
Except in this case, it’s nuclear warheads
That's also a bit of a stretch
ohh hell nah I hate this putin bitch
he's the worst tyrant russia had really
💀
to be honest he's really worse than what was in USSR
Calcium
Russias history is my favorite to study, especially the difference between what westerns call certain figures and what Russians call figures
USSR at least won WW2 and didn't fight innocent countries, the life here was better too, even despite it being communist
ok that's major cap, if stalin had access to nuclear weapons early on im pretty sure none of us would be alive
Good thing that didnt happen
Oh boy i wouldve gotten bored of not existing
Stalin is a lot worse imo but putin is up there
I'm not saying that ussr is good btw
idk both suck ass
Ouh, did by culture and liberalistic reforms you mean banning local language, or the fact that for a time beaing my people were almost in a status as slaves? Or did you mean before and after second world war sending all intelligent people to gulag, also nearly forbidding local language, sending to prison for having old flag at home or even speaking against occupation power?
@scarlet elbow what is the name of this guy in your language
Spoken like a true gentleman
Ok I dunno why but I found this funny
you're changing times my guy
you've gone over to the communist russia times and it's not good
Pretty comedic if you ask me
Really captures that “only in Eastern Europe” moment
Good. It is worrying how many people think that having your borders somewhere in the past is enough to go invade everyone. Especially around the Warsaw Pact
I'm talking about Russia winning napoleon in 1812, Russia got Finland and Poland - life there got better
As well as their native language was used in their local government deals
I shouldnt be allowed to consciously transmute words
China moment
Yeah thankfully kinda majority of russians don't think that way
It's mostly older, brainwashed by propaganda generations now who still belive in Putin
It was short history of my home interaction with russia. Nothing good ever come from it.
What's your home?
Finland I assume
Latvia.
well Finland was with russia before ussr
Close enough
Oh yeah you're talking about communists, they're bad no justifying for them
when communists came russia stopped being the good guy
Russia was terrible before too
I like he we banned communists two times in Ukraine but west was concerned about freedom of speech for them XD
Don’t think any country can truthfully be the good guy, they can only be
Especially for the peasants who got to enjoy the Tsar's services
Yeah life here was bad always, but at least our country wasn't a villain
Remember when the commies gunned down the ruling family in a basement
Russia empire was no walk in the part to. Sorry if I was a bit to harsh, you do sound like a nice guy, but man, you have no idea how current situation makes my blood boil.
Damn if you think about it there really was no time ever in the history of Russia when life was good for it's citizens
Kinda rich coming from the WEST
pretty sure everyone is pissed at putin
responsible for destabilizing Asia
@boreal dock don't bother with the Russian saviour mindset
I think pretty much every government is the bad guy in some capacity but we just have to live with them
Russian Savior mindset 😂
I do have idea of that, because it makes my blood boil too, Russia is currently not being what Russia was at all, my country is invading the same people as we are, my friends and relatives of my family
Not my soviet parents
this^
That was quite a brutal affair indeed.
I think it’s cool to talk about Russian history through the different eras
I just like history in general
History is interesting in general
I’m actually learning Russian Revolution in school rn
the communist one?
I dont see governments as 'bad' or 'good'. Because no government can be inherently good or bad. It all comes down to power and how it gets used. Which is always for the personal benefit for those who wield it.
Do they give you enough of an idea of how brutal it was or do they tune it down? xD
I agree on that
Oh no they tell ya how fucked it was to be a peasant
Though we’re more or less skimming through major events from a political standpoint
Personal benefit can be good for all for certain people so it's crucial to have the right people
We don't rn
I think my favorite place to study rn is north African history in the 1100-1400 periods
did they tell you how fucked you were to be a rich person during the revolution though
Wanna share something with you as well, battle of Kruty
When 500 students held off 6000 Bolsheviks to win some time for Kyiv
Haven’t gotten up to that part
Most important thing for me it seems to have as much checks on power as possible. Trias politca and all that
The nice thing about this class is the teacher just lets us post memes on our Class Teams
oh yeah those guys got rekt
do you think the Provisional Siberian Government should’ve won the civil war
Yup, if there's one guy who stays above everyone else - bad things happen
hm what's that? Never heard of this
New capital: Vladivostok
No Novosibirsk should be the capital man)
It’s this gov that lasted from January to October in 1918
longer than my relationship
Didn't get to it in school yet
Bruh, ukrianian TV is teaching ukrianians how to ddos Russian banks
Move the capital to omsk immediately
Omsk
Reminds me, fuck stalin. They should have shot him as soon as possible. Would have saved a ton of pain and suffering
Beria was even worse
Beria wasn’t great but his execution was
Beria was straight up a diddler wasn’t he?
Oh Beria. Glad he cried and sobbed for his life when they shot the fucker
He used his position to have sex with different women threatening their families and such
😒
150 women
Drove around Moskow and pretty much forced the women to.. you know. and afterwads they had to accept a flower gift...
Can they deny the gift... technically..
I honestly want a piano duel between him and Putin
Eat it, perhaps?
I think Stalin didn’t let Beria stay around his daughter but I don’t remember where I learned that so prolly not true
Didnt he also kill a bunch of girls
That’s how they settle the conflict
He also asked Stalin to execute 20 thousand Ukranian people
They found bodies recently where his house is
At that point is it accepting the gift or rejecting it?
😳
If you accept the gift then you "consent". If you reject it you'll be arrested and sent to gulag
Vladivostok is my favorite name for a Russian city, whenever I see it, it always sticks out to me
If they accepted the gift it would be consentual... if they rejected it. They would disappear
But if they ate it?
I think it would count as accepting
idt it was threatening families he was known for, more like promising to free their families
even if said family was long executed
Id think that too
Part of why I’m (slowly and poorly) learning Russian is because I want to understand any documents I come across from past periods since it’s kinda like a “standard” language
Ok.
Russian is hard
For now whenever I find a document I just have to take the translators word for it
You’re speaking one right now
Whats a language
And EU just sends Ukrainians to fight
Other than the one I was born with
Yup
I was born to read childrens stories aloud to anyone at the local library
I have to admit the US foreign language classes suck a lot at least where I went to school
Language is not real, its just a bunch of noises and scribbles people pretend is real
kekw
Lmao
Gods almighty
Our options were either French, German, or spanish, and we were lucky if the teacher actually spoke the language fluently lol
Indeed
My spanish teacher was a track coach
😢
Yes it fucking does
The Russian Embassy in Bosnia has accused the U.S. of establishing bio labs in Ukraine in order to study methods on how to destroy the Russian people.
Yes, sadly this is 🇷🇺 official statement. https://t.co/9naXZJ5djE

Mas o menos
any russians here able to translate
One of my language teachers was a 93 year old man named Kaiser
That aint Russian.
You chose German?
Not Russian
Looks like a balkan language
Yep I was pretty into the idea of learning german. It’s a shame I have the german level of a pit bull terrier
Imagine being monolingual
Are you in a southern state?
…no
hah 42 days worth of anime ensures my position as a quad-lingual
Definitely not me
The pronunciation depends on the historical roots. Both referring to the Roman Title and name of Caesar
I wanted to take chinese cause the class was easier but my parents made me take spanish
there’s really not any local teachers I can practice with for the language I’m learning now so I guess I’ll be practicing with foreign news guys pronunciation of things
Good enough
That flavien dude is optimistic
repost but relevant
my mother
God there’s a ducking anime version already
Javelin-chan
When learning another language remember that grammar is barely required to be usable with native speakers. If you are able to get mostly in the ballpark they should be able to figure out what you meant
no my ukrainian friend liked it
The size comparison tho
It’s gonna be really embarrassing though
But most likely wont be able to help making extensive fun of your lack of knowledge

Depending on where you are
yes, especially in russian
Damn bruh that doesn’t help
People are more likely to be impressed you speak multiple languages than laugh down at you
But made me chuckle
I like your tone
can agree, people usually think no russian can speak english
That's scale is wrong though, look at Iceland being the size if north America lol
I guess I have no excuse to not learn another lanuage
Besides being stuck in the pocket dimension known as the public school system
Looks like Mercator projection or gall peters or some shit
as in not broken english
Seems right to me
I disagree
But actually, majority of russians don't have enough english knowledge to speak at all, only to pronounce and read some most often words
Me, after Vladivostok is destroyed in the first wave of NATO's retaliatory nuclear strikes
Greenland is morphed weirdly
"fuk u amerika"
What is the Wyoming of Russia
Because its on the edge of the oval of which a Mercator map is placed within
Older folk wont but the youth are likely to speak usable level of english.
what is wyoming
It's about 1:1 with Google maps
Wyoming is one of our states that everyone jokes doesn’t exist
well, not really-
Мухосранск then maybe xD
Nebraska doesnt exist either
Actually false
Mukosransk? Where’s that?
it's a government hoax to conceal the fact that all our corn comes from Elven slave labor
Idfk
It doesn’t exist!
xD
Muho is "fly" and sransk is something like "shit" or "shitting"
soo quite a good city name
Flying shit
all I know is cyka
no as in the animal fly
blyat
Oh, that makes more sense
That’s a great city name
you should also learn ebanniy pizdec!
I'm guessing on earth
I thought that meant the people there coexist with monkeys or something
A guy in my boy scout group had parents who escaped USSR
The city of fly and poop
he taught me a couple curse words
It's an old joke consisting of two parts (fly as an insect, and shit)
Overwhelming majority of the kids genuinely skip their english school lessons. As a matter of fact, I've known two girls that kept skipping their english in the fucking university while being on the third year of international relationships. They were staying in the university purely by begging their professor to give them a passing grade every exam week (and probably sucking his cock, but I wasn't a witness to that part thanks god)
what does it mean
fucking shit or something like that
oooh nice
