Here is the issue - sanctions do jack for all, because if we sanction Russia, China will help pick up the slack - and it works the other way around. They both want to help one another because they have mutual goals - Russia wants Ukraine, China wants Taiwan. If they scratch eachother's backs they have a solid chance of doing this. If Russia got kicked out of Swift, China moves in to cushen the blow - and odds are they will make some sort of parallel economy based around them, Iran and North Korea.

Honestly though, if you want to sanction anyone, kick China out of swift first.
