For the record, it might be worth clarifying your approach will have false positives. The naming scheme username<numbers> is the default naming scheme for accounts that never selected a new username after the migration a few years ago (for example test#1234 would become test1234)

once you are at the modules page go onto Auto Mod and create a new rule. name the rule whatever you like. set the filter to Links and then the Delete All Links option. then under the Allowlist add gif links lik tenor.com, giphy.com, and .gif

then just set the action you want to take when another link is detected

you must share a server with the bot and also have your dms open. to open your dms, click on the server name in the top left hand corner, click privacy settings, and enable the option

Dyno is simply a service used to moderate users, and as such, Dyno Staff cannot help you with moderation issues from other servers. If you believed you were mistakenly banned or there was another issue, you must attempt to contact the staff of the server where you were banned. You can ask a friend to do this on your behalf or see if the server has any other social media. If the server has a Dyno appeal form set up, the link would have been DMed to you when you were banned.

I want to create an automod rule that deletes all links.
My question is, do I need to specify any roles or channels, and is there a way to apply it for all users and not just ones with roles? Same for all channels. It seems like I need to specify each individual role and channel, which is tedious. And it won't apply to the everyone role, it seems.

Also I want to whitelist any discord links (such as message links). I'm assuming https://discord.com/* will work?

To make the ?lock and ?lockdown commands work properly so users will not be able to send messages, make sure that the permissions in each channel are set as follows:
For the Dyno role Manage Permissions
For the Muted role Send Messages
For All other roles Send Messages
For the @everyone role Send Messages

I don't know if this is a bug, but with the Reaction Roles module, if I try to set up a role using anything but reactions (buttons/dropdown), certain default emojis gives an error when sending the message

For example, transgender icon gives an error when editing/sending the message

Dyno fails to assign the auto-role every now and again, anyone know what may cause it?

I've set it to auto-assign the core-role after 1 minute (so the user is shown the native Discord rule screen)

I believe it was working perfectly until I changed it from instantly assigning the role, to waiting 1 minute. I need the 1 minute wait, as otherwise Discord doesn't show the users the rules-screen

If you're trying to make it so that a member joins the server, and their name remains the same but some characters like “[PE]” gets added infront of their name, You cannot do that kind of thing through Dyno. You have to use an exclusive nickname bot.

Dyno is simply a service used to moderate users, and as such, Dyno Staff cannot help you with moderation issues from other servers. If you believed you were mistakenly banned or there was another issue, you must attempt to contact the staff of the server where you were banned. You can ask a friend to do this on your behalf or see if the server has any other social media. If the server has a Dyno appeal form set up, the link would have been DMed to you when you were banned.

Y'all, I'm trying to get Dyno to renickname folks per their input. Something like:
!honor My Dad
...would renick a person to
Harmony (IHO: My Dad)

The code I think should work is

{?setnick {user} {user.username} ($1+)}```

But....Dyno does nothing.  I had several of my normal members (not mods, not admins) test it out, no dice.  No movement.  Any ideas?

Like.... all of it. I get that there are variables that take the place of specific items...usernames, numbers, nicknames, etc., but the videos are veryyyyyyy generic and never seem to answer my specific questions, and the articles themselves are an absolute deluge of everything having to do with dyno without really telling you how to ....do the thing. I guess I'm a see it to learn it sort of person? And there's no use cases to compare with that answer the questions I have. I can do the basic stuff.

It's the harder stuff that appears to throw me for a loop

Whatever command you are trying to do needs to start with ! not your prefix

And that also doesn't really convey your meaning, did you look at the custom commands page on the doc? It goes over in quite specifics what the variables are and how to use it

Hi, let me try to help! Let's first try to get the nickname command working and then worry about formatting the nickname in the way you wish. Please try this for the custom command body:

{!setnick {user} {user.username} ($1+)}

Notice how I don't have any mention of "honor" within the custom command body itself and how I've replaced the ? prefix right before setnick with !.

When used, it should set your nickname to be your username followed by the command arguments in parenthesis. Let's see if that works as expected.

Hi, Eco... It simply doesn't work. Dyno doesn't throw an error or anything. I made sure he has access to the command setnick, I tested it on someone who has no high-level permissions, and I even tried switching out the ! for a / (we use slashes a lot) and tried again. I don't know what the issue is, but the time has passed to try to implement it. We wanted to use it to allow members to update their names and name the person they're honoring on Memorial Day today. It's fine. I probably won't need anything like it again until this time next year. XD

yes, the command is not getting deleted (as it normally does), but it will still execute

and when I (or other mods on the server) go to audit, sometimes the audit is missing the notes section or the warnings section

so I'll go to do &note userID insert note info here and it doesn't delete (at least a few times today, experienced it twice myself)

it might be a custom command, you could make a CC, set the name to anything other than a base command name and have the command box as{!note $1 $2+} {delete}and it will execute the note command and delete the command message

it goes on the audit and the very least which is nice, but just found it weird that it didn't delete - used to do that every now and then, but was more noticeable today that with the audits being weird

Or even a Discord issue? I had talked to someone else before with Dyno not deleting messages when spammed and they mentioned it was on Discord's end. Weird that this is only with the &note command so far though, and not with &audit or bans (which, we do more often than notes)

interesting, i would suggest this:

• disable the module and wait a second for the page to confirm
• re-enable the module
• continue to monitor the issue and if it persists come back and let us know as it may need further investigation

in answer to your question; possibly, but i wouldnt say it’s definitely a discord issue. the command can run successfully, its the delete request that sometimes fails. since it only happens with note, it’s more likely related to that command’s timing/cleanup path than spam or general latency, but i cannot say for certain what would be causing it
following through with what i advised and come back and let us know if you still see the issue and we can let the devs know if necessary

@civic fossil This is the basic one almost all severs use, the other colors (I believe) are special ones (like for premium users). Other ones a fake.

You can also tell if it’s a bot by looking at the username, if it has the bot name, then a hashtag, then a number, then it’s a bot.

I have this at the moment which will mute 3 users for the same duration and reason all at once but I want to be able to mute 2 or more users
