Hello, I'm having an issue being able to manage server. I'm trying to setup a verify channel using dyno. when I click "Manage Servers" it just pulls up a list of servers. dyno should dm the duration and reason to a user if they have dm on ban enabled for that server. but there also could have been a chance you was banned without a duration and the duration was added after with ?duration, thus explaining why the lenth argument wasnt included in the dm

Hello, there! There's this custom command that we use which removes Male (Unverified) and a general Unverified role from a user and gives them Male (Verified) and a general Verified role.

The 1st 3 work but the last doesn't for some reason.

When I test the code with the same exact role ID, it does show the role.

Same issue for this command and the female verification command too.

The other 3 work but the verified role doesn't get added/removed.

Only 3 roles work.

People are unable to use Dyno unless they have proper permissions within the server. I would check who has permissions within the server.

Hello. Dyno hasn't been responding to text commands for the past 3 days now. It only responds to slash commands.

• I have a few server roles added as dyno mod
• these roles are also overriden in the channel integrations
• the channels where they should have access to use those commands are also overriden in the integrations
• 3/4 roles and channels work perfectly. But only 1 channel will not stop saying “you don’t have perms for this command” to my mods

All have been setup the same. Only 1 channel refuses to work, I don’t understand what I’m missing here

That usually happens because of a small permissions or integration issue, even if everything looks the same. Here’s a few things to double check:

• Check the Integrations tab
  Go to the channel that isn’t working, open Settings → Integrations → Dyno. Make sure the mod roles are actually enabled there. Sometimes the role overrides look fine, but the Dyno integration itself is disabled for that specific channel.

• Check the channel’s permissions
  In the channel’s Permissions tab, make sure your mod roles have “View Channel,” “Send Messages,” and especially “Use Application Commands” turned on. That last one is easy to miss, and if it’s off or denied anywhere, Dyno’s slash commands won’t work.

• Look for conflicting roles
  If a moderator has another role that denies “Use Application Commands” or “Send Messages,” that denial will override any other allows. Compare one of the working moderators’ roles with the one that’s getting the error.

• Check Dyno’s global integration settings
  In Server Settings → Integrations → Dyno → Channels, make sure that channel actually has commands enabled.

• Sync permissions or reapply overrides
  Try removing the Dyno integration override from that one channel, sync permissions, and then reapply it. Sometimes Discord just gets desynced and needs a refresh.

• Check the Dyno dashboard
  Go to the Dyno dashboard and look under Modules. See if the command or module being used is disabled in that channel.

If all of that looks right and it still won’t work, try recreating the channel. Occasionally, a channel just gets stuck with a hidden permission conflict.

If your server uses usernames instead of mentions, the {dm:$1} approach usually accepts mentions or usernames — testing is a good idea.

The recipient can block DMs from server members; if their privacy settings block the DM, Dyno can’t deliver the message. You may want a fallback (e.g., have Dyno post a private confirmation only visible to mods) if delivery matters.

To be specific here, this is only applicable to the “/role” command permissions itself

4 roles are overridden and 5 channels are overridden for /role command

I believe it’s only 1 of those overridden roles that should work yet is not working across any other channels that are overridden and working for other roles

Even after adding another channel to the override list, it wont work for that problematic role. So if it’s the role itself instead of the channel how can I fix that? I have removed and readded both in server and in dashboard multiple times in case its stuck like you said

Ah, okay now it makes more sense. If it’s one specific role that doesn’t work across any channel, even after removing and re-adding overrides, then the issue is likely with the role itself, not the channels. Here’s what to check and how to fix it:

1. Check role hierarchy

Go to Server Settings → Roles.

Make sure the problematic role is above Dyno in the role list. Dyno cannot manage or apply commands to roles that are higher than its own role.

If the role is below Dyno, move it up and test the /role command again.

2. Check role permissions

• Even if Dyno is high enough, make sure the role itself has the proper permissions, like Manage Roles if the command affects roles.

• Some commands might fail silently if the target role is higher than the bot’s highest role or if the role has permissions that conflict with Dyno’s actions.

3. Check command restrictions

• In Dyno dashboard → Modules → Custom Commands or Modules → /role command:

• Make sure the role isn’t blacklisted anywhere (not:role) or restricted to a different role.

• If the command itself has role restrictions, it won’t work for this role even if channels are fine.

4. Test with a temporary role

• Create a new test role and try giving it with /role.
• If it works, the original role might be corrupted or have a hidden setting preventing Dyno from managing it.
• In that case, either recreate the role or adjust its permissions carefully.

5. Check for conflicting bots

• If another bot has permissions on that role, it might be interfering with Dyno.
• Remove other bots’ role management temporarily and test again.

So the way it works is any of those roles can use the /role command in any of the overridden channels. I put this to the test using a second account and proved true. Doesn’t matter whoch role they have, they have access to the perm in any of the channels listed. Except both the 🎯 channel which I need it in, and 🪶 that I added in order to test it. The only similarity is that they’re in the same category? But the rest of the channels work, I’m grasping at straws

Sure but that seems beside the point, no? Shouldn’t Mod grant the perms as well? My issue is the command saying member does not have perms in an overridden channel. The rest of the channels work fine, regardless of what overridden role use the command, but 2 channels keep pulling up the “you do not have perms to run this command” no matter what overridden role tries it.

So as a matter of fact, it does seem to be the channel, not role as I had said before. Going to recheck the first response about that

That is not a dyno issue, that is when you don't have the user cached so you can't directly see it's profile

Yet no role will work with the commands in that particular channel, while other overridden channels work just fine.

So I have the boxes checked in, what I thought, was all areas… what am I missing now that I did right before?

for starters, probably - joining and leaving (any channel) - have it post the information in the log channel that only admins and bots can see

after that you can try setting up an autoresponder, so that when a user joins your specific channel "User and joined [your channel], then it can announce something in that channel once they've joined

that's "user has joined [your channel name] - it will detect that someone joined that specific channel based on the words and responds to that join message, but in your specific channel - something to look at at least 🙂

you could set up a log for joining just for that specific channel you're referring to

so go to Action log and create a log for users joining - you can specifiy that it posts that log in your new log channel

you can test it out by having a user join that channel and see if it posts in logs

you could perhaps try a log setting for "Role update" so that when someone received their new rold, it will log the event, and based on the auto responder, you can have it message the user about their new channel etc...

no it's not - ignored roles means that any action log for "admin" or whatever you select, will be ignored

well, the event I believe, happens when you give someone that role - so it's new...

in any case, you're not trying to set up a new role...

you already have the role in place - all you want to do is log the role event and have an autoresponder respond to that event

no - there's two things that you're doing.. You need to have the action log post an event in the log channel - that event is the "user joined channel" the second thing is that you set up a autoresponder that sees the "user joined channel" and responds to the user

you can set up however you need to, the autoresponder just needs to respond to whatever message you have

Dyno is simply a service used to moderate users, and as such, Dyno Staff cannot help you with moderation issues from other servers. If you believed you were mistakenly banned or there was another issue, you must attempt to contact the staff of the server where you were banned. You can ask a friend to do this on your behalf or see if the server has any other social media. If the server has a Dyno appeal form set up, the link would have been DMed to you when you were banned.
