How do I get Dyno to respond to pings?

Configuring The Module

1. Head to the dashboard, log in and select your server.
2. Head to the Autoresponder module.

• Ensure the module is enabled, otherwise Autoresponder will not work!

3. Select Add Response.
4. In the Trigger field, add the user ID that you want Dyno to respond to pings to you followed by a >. For example, 334093318818627586>.

• Click here to learn how to get a user ID.

5. Select your response type and enter your response in the field below.
6. If you only want this autoresponder to affect some roles/channels, set them using the Allowed/Ignored Roles/Channels options below.
7. Select the Wildcard option. This will make Dyno respond to the ping when it is located anywhere in a message.
8. Click Add Response to finalize the Autoresponder!

If Dyno does not have the Administrator permission, make sure Dyno has the following permissions:

To make mute work in private channels make sure that the permissions in the channel are set as follows:
For the Dyno Role Manage Permissions
For the Muted Role Send Messages
For Allowed Roles View Channel Send Messages
For the @everyone role View Channel Send Messages

Always use View Channel to control access to private channels. As this will mean only those with roles that can see the channel will be able to access and chat there, while still being able to be muted.
For more information on how to properly mute users, use ?tag mute in the #commands channel.

Dyno is simply a service used to moderate users, and as such, Dyno Staff cannot help you with moderation issues from other servers. If you believed you were mistakenly banned or there was another issue, you must attempt to contact the staff of the server where you were banned. You can ask a friend to do this on your behalf or see if the server has any other social media. If the server has a Dyno appeal form set up, the link would have been DMed to you when you were banned.

- Dyno Moderators are users with a role added with the ?addmod command or on the Dashboard.

- Dyno Managers include users with a role added to Manager Roles on the Dashboard, all users that have the Administrator permission in Discord, and the owner of the server who always has all permissions.

Server Owner
Server Admin - Administrator Permission
Server Manager - Roles added as Manager Role
Server Moderator - ?addmod

The Server Owner, Admins and Managers are considered Dyno Managers, they can use all commands and access the web dashboard.

Muted users can still talk

First, check your server's Modlog channel and see if Dyno logged muting the user. If you don't have a Modlog channel (you should set one!), you can check your server's Audit Log and see if Dyno added the Muted role to the user.

If Dyno DID NOT log the mute or add the Muted role to the user

• If Dyno does not have the Administrator permission, make sure Dyno's role has the following permissions in your server: Manage Roles, Ban Members and Timeout Members.
• Make sure Dyno's role is above the Muted role and the user's highest role (gif below).

If Dyno DID log the mute and add the Muted role to the user

1. Go to the channel(s) they can still type in and go to Channel Settings → Permissions

2. In the channel your permissions should be as follows:

• For All roles except the Muted role Send Messages
• For Muted role Send Messages

3. If it's a private channel your permissions should be as follows:

• For the Member role or Access role Send Messages View Channel
• For Muted role Send Messages
• For @everyone role Send Messages View Channel

Things To Note

• If you wish to leave your channel permissions as they are, you can enable the REMOVE ROLES WHEN MUTED setting under the Moderation module settings on the dashboard to have Dyno remove the user's roles when muting them.
• If you wish to leave your channel permissions as they are you can also enable the USE DISCORD TIMEOUTS FOR MUTE option to have Dyno time the user out instead of adding a muted role to them.

The AFK command isn't responding even though it's enabled

Both the AFK module and command needs to be enabled for the feature to be usable. You can check the status of both by running ?diagnose afk or /diagnose command_or_module: afk (please note this is case sensitive). If Dyno responds with the command and/or the module is disabled, use the ?command//command and/or ?module//module commands respectively to enable the feature.

Custom Command Arguments
You can use words provided after the command name ("arguments") by using the $N variable. To use this, you must replace N with the number of the word you want to use ($1 for the first word after the command, $2 for the second, and so on). If you want to use an entire phrase, you can add a + to the variable. For example: $1+ will return the first word and everything after it (so all arguments provided), $2+ will take the second word and everything after it, and so on.

Example:

What Dyno responds with: You slapped Joe with a fish

$1 represents the first argument (Joe) in the command.

How to moderate/respond to pings

Note: Dyno only has the power of a Discord Bot Account and cannot prevent messages from being sent. With either of the options below, the user will still receive the ping.

First, obtain the ID of the user(s) whose ping you want to moderate/respond to. You will need this for both of the following options.

Deleting/Moderating the Ping

1. Head to the dashboard, Login or Manage Server, and select your server.
2. Head to the Automod module.
3. Select Create Rule and give a Rule Name.
4. Select the Bad Words rule type.
5. Under Banned Words (wildcard), add the ID(s) you obtained from the first step followed by a >. For example, 334093318818627586>.
6. Under Actions, select the actions you want Dyno to take when the user is mentioned.
7. If you only want this rule to affect some roles/channels, set them under the Permissions tab.
8. Click Create Rule!
Notes:

• All Automod rules will not affect Dyno Moderators and Managers.
• With Premium, you can select the Warn punishment and set a Custom Response under the Additional Options, by doing that you don't need to follow the rest of the steps!

Sending a Message

1. Head to the dashboard, Login or Manage Server, and select your server.
2. Head to the Autoresponder module.
3. Select Add Response.
4. In the Trigger field, add the ID you obtained from the first step followed by a >. For example, 334093318818627586>.
5. Select your response type and enter your response in the field below.
6. If you only want this autoresponder to affect some roles/channels, set them using the Allowed/Ignored Roles/Channels options.
7. Select the Wildcard option. This will make Dyno respond to the ping when it is located anywhere in a message.

Image Hosting

Since Discord made their CDN links expire after some time, it is no longer recommended to use them when creating/editing something on the dashboard.

Two easy to use alternatives (that don't require an account) that we would recommend are Imgur or Postimage. You can also use any other service you like, but either way, make sure the image link you copy ends in a valid file extension (such as .jpg, .png or .gif).
