My Custom Command is not working

Troubleshooting Steps

Because Custom Commands are custom, there are many different issues that can cause them to not work. The list below is only some of the most frequent issues.

1. Make sure the Custom Commands module is enabled. You can easily check this by running ?diagnose customcommands or /diagnose command_or_module: customcommands for slash commands.
2. If you have {silent} in the command or Silent Command option enabled with a {!command} variable, remove it and run the command one to see if an error is being silenced.
3. If you have a {!command} variable in your command, make sure the prefix is !. The prefix is always ! in CC's regardless of your server prefix.
4. Make sure each advanced variable (variables that do not just represent text) in your command is on its own line.
5. If your Command field only contains a {!command} variable, make sure to add a space after the variable.
6. If you have an embed, make sure you follow these steps:

Things To Note

• If your embed has images, make sure the image links end in a file extension (e.g. .png, .gif).
• If you have any Fields, make sure each Field has both a Name and Value.
• If Dyno is sending a blank message instead of the embed, make sure you have the Show website preview from links pasted into chat option enabled in User Settings > Text & Images.
• Make sure your embed does not exceed the character limits listed here.

Shoot. I tried something similar long ago and it came up with the same problem (I talked about) You cant only partially add roles (like making a role adding optional in a command) without needing more than one custom command.

Although, it's my bad for misunderstanding the situation.

I thought they were trying to make a command that's let's a mod verify someone that could either grant 3 roles or only 2..

I think my earlier reply I either deleted by mistake trying to fix an error or I just lagged and didn't post it..

How do I make a command to give/remove a role to/from a user?

To perform most "actions" in Custom Commands, we use other Dyno commands. To add/remove a role, we'll use the ?role command. The variable to execute a Dyno command in a CC is {!command}, so with the role command usage that looks like {!role [user] +/-[rolename]}.

• To give the role to the user who runs the command:
  The variable that represents the user who runs the command is {user}, so put that in the spot where the user goes in our {!role} variable.
• To give the role to a user mentioned in the command, i.e. ?giverole @user:
  The variable that represents the first word after the command is $1. In this case, it is the user we're mentioning, so put that in the spot where the user goes in our {!role} variable. For more information on arguments/$N, click here.

Now, replace [role] with the name of the role you want to add and put the correct sign in front of the role name (+ for add, - for remove, or do not put a sign if you want dyno to both add and remove with the same command, depending on if the user already has the role or not).

If you want to add/remove multiple roles, separate them with a comma.
Here are some examples of what your command may look like:

{!role $1 -Banana}
{!role $1 +Verified, -Unverified}```
### Things To Note
- Dyno's role must be above the roles you want it to give/remove (gif below).
- You **cannot** name your Custom Command "role" as it is the name of an existing Dyno command.
- Do **NOT** include the brackets `[]` in your actual command.

How do I use Message Embedder?

Configuring The Module

1. Head to the dashboard, log in, and select your server.
2. Select the Modules tab and click on Message Embedder.

• Ensure the module is enabled, otherwise the Message Embedder module will not work!

3. Click the New Embed button and then type in a name for the Embed inside the Name box. (The Name will be what the embed appears as on the Dashboard; it does not affect the embed itself)
4. Choose a channel for Dyno to send the embed to.
5. When you are done customizing the embed, you can Save and Send, Save as Draft, or Send Only. If you choose the Send Only option, the embed will not be saved on the dashboard and you will not be able to edit it.

Things To Note

• You can then customize the embed however you want. Scrolling down the page will reveal a Preview, which allows you to see what it will look like inside of your channel.

Required Permissions

If Dyno does not have the Administrator permission, make sure Dyno has these permissions in the relevant channel(s):

How do I set up Reaction Roles?

Configuring The Module

1. Head to the dashboard, log in, and select your server.
2. Select the Modules tab and click on Reaction Roles.

• Ensure the module is enabled, otherwise Reaction Roles will not work!

3. Enter a Name for your reaction role and select the Channel it will be sent to. (The Name will be what the reaction role appears as on the Dashboard; it does not affect the embed itself)
4. Select if you want the reaction message to be a Plain Message or an Embed Message that Dyno will post, or you can also select an Existing Message that Dyno will add the reactions to.
5. Set your desired message you want to be sent or enter the message ID of the message that you want Dyno to use.
6. Select if you want to use Reaction, Buttons, or Dropdowns for users to pick up roles. Buttons and Dropdowns are not available for existing messages.
7. Set your Reaction Settings for each role that you want to be assigned.
8. Under the Options tab, there are additional settings you can choose. Click the ? next to each option to learn more about it. There are also in-depth explanations on each option here.
9. Click the Save button and you’re all set!

• If you’re looking to add custom emojis to your message follow this guide! Just keep in mind Dyno needs to be in the server where that emoji is from.
