One quick thing is that, you get 1 free transfer every gameweek. For any transfer on top of that they take 4 points from you. So make sure you don't just do 4-5 transfers randomly

You have to get a midfielder there, and then sell Marc Guiu or Strand Larsen to get Wood

Sacrificing 4 points isn't the biggest deal if you do it once or twice. In my opinion you should sell Palmer for a midfielder and then Marc Guiu/Strand Larsen for Wood

You can also use your wildcard. With the wildcard, you can make as many transfers as you want in that gameweek and you won't lose any points for it.

Reijnders is a good option now for midfield. There are also I. Sarr and Semenyo but Semenyo is a bit more expensive

If you aren't content with your squad you should go for the wildcard and change all the players you want. If you can't wait one more gameweek because the international break is coming up and players always get injured there
