you can only have 1 swtor account linked to 1 steam account and vice versa otherwise you get that message
hey, i have that same message, i'm a returning player but i have only one account to my only steam account, is there any fix to that?

I believe you can try unlinking and linking it again to your SWTOR account. As Prax said, you can only have one account linked at a time.
i made it clear that i have only one account of both steam and swtor, and on the website it isn't even showing any option to unlink so it should automatically link when i start the launcher from steam right? but nope it's just not doing it, broadsword really made things worse
You would unlink or link on the SWTOR website
Keep in mind, this is community-based support. No one here works for Broadsword or EA. I would suggest not being rude to people trying to help.
I'm not being rude? I'm just putting my point of what's happened and has been happening, if you can't take an opinion then don't reply? Their support system doesn't know how to support like if you do it through the website they tell you to go to forums, when you go there they literally tell you to put it in the community and players would help like it's so ridiculous atp, it was just May 4th and i thought I'd play it back but seems like it's unplayable now, and my apologies if you felt like I'm being rude

yup they responded back with going on support through forums because apparently to them it's "account issue" and then it just goes circle to circle from forums to community support
funny part is that i can see my cartel coins, i even have my game screenshots from last year, yesterday i thought why not transfer the character and then play through web launcher cuz that worked, but i can't even see any previous character anymore as well
I'm a good fan of this and honestly wouldn't mind to play it all over again but it'll be boring and hectic
From some forum posts I've found, some people have had luck reinstalling the game. Is it annoying, yes, but it may work

i had been willing to continue the story for some quite a while but has been very busy

Reinstalling usually fixes a fair few issues
The website's account management page should show you the Steam account linked
it keeps saying "no steam account linked" and then they've said it at a few places that launching through steam should automatically link the account but idk it's been very weird

If you played with it before, then there should be an option to unlick. Otherwise, the system would think there is no account in the first place

it got my ss, my playtime and the subscription history but refuses to link the account 🤦🏻♂️

Well reinstalling didn't work and their live support is like "please recheck the account and take a look at forums" like how many times have i told i don't have multiple accounts i only use ONE, I'm just done with this game man, thanks for being here Hibi
