There is no best class, depends on situation. I'd say level as a dps or tank

Every game has a top-tier healer class. I’m just trying to figure out what that is. I’m not trying to make a DPS or a tank. I’ve already tried them and I don’t like them.

Doesn't matter really if you're leveling. You can switch specs no problem

also - parsely.io , you can check out numbers for healers there. as a healer myself, i play all 3 healer specs. my favorite depends on the day

For most players, each healer class is more than good enough for most game content, so you can pick whichever you like. If you like the game, you'll likely end up making so many characters that you'll have the option to play on all the healer types. If you get into nightmare mode endgame raiding then it's like the other commenter said, each situation can call for a specific type that is most ideal. If you never touch that content, it doesn't matter because the game is so generous that the combat difficulty is set so easy, and you'll find any type of healer is more than enough. It will often get to the point where you're bored of healing because you'll be waiting for any damage to occur.
