I've been playing with my Ruffian after returning to the game, and I have been really enjoying the playstyle and mechanics after previously playing Scrapper and Sawbones exclusively. I have heard that Ruffians are doing pretty good in PvP right now, but in my experience I'm seeing Ruffian as a well-rounded, survivable off-healer. I may be doing something wrong, but it seems like I'm low mid-tier in damage, even when I focus on that all match. Oftentimes I'm doing less than half of the game's top DPS. I saw this both in the 70s where I started up recently and in lvl 80 matches with 324 gear (the conquest set). I'm guessing my problem would be in attack priority and not stats because that is a significant difference from top damage.
My attack priority is:
Setup: Both DoTs, Sanguinary Shot, Point Blank, Brutal Shots
Sustained Priority: Point Blank, Sanguinary Shot, DoTs when needed, and then spam Brutal Shots and use Blaster Whip to spam Brutal Shots more until Point Blank is ready again. Bushwack for AoE.
Even with the lack of numbers it does feel good to play, and I feel the 1v1 strength. Any help or input is appreciated, even if it's just to say that Ruffians don't see inflated numbers in the end game screen. Thanks!
