How do I get better gear?

I'm a sith warrior marauder and I seem to be struggling a lot with enemies alderaan. What can I do to get better gear? (Lvl 24 btw)

Alderaan recommended lvl is 28-32, I'm afraid gear would't help. My friend plays only the class story, and I noticed that when enemies are ~5 lvl higher it's a real struggle to fight them. I'd suggest lvl up a little. There are some useful legacy unlocks (exp bonus for class missions and for exploration), exp boost items (mission rewards), guild exp bonuses.

Btw I also had a bug where my companion menu in the bottom left of my screen didn't show up at all

planetary missions could be interesting as well =) i guess one planet should be enough

If you're unable to summon your comp from the bottom left, you can press N (I think) to open your comp window and you should be able to summon them from there
