Can someone explain to me like i'm dumb why a tank would ever want to do Nim/Nefra dash if in order to tank Nim/Nefra you need near max mit gear and the only thing that drops for you is more 344 tank gear?

Isn't the only benefit at that point literally just more tank gear for another tanking alt?

1. You do not need to be in 343 gear to tank Nefra. You don't even need to be in 340. We all did it in 324 to get gear before Hyde and Zeek was a thing. Knowing the fight and your class is a lot more important for Nefra (as for most fights). 2. You can get gear drops for dps (or heal) classes as a tank by setting your loot discipline.

after equipping it to one character, you can open your collection with ctrl+c

search for the armor in question

and click a ltitle button at the bottom of the armor icon

that will prompt you to unlock it account-wide

the price is 60 cc for a bronze rarity item, 240 for silver and 400 for gold or platinum

half that during sales which happen twice a year

one of those 50% off collection unlock sales will be in december or vvery early january

Either Missable or Skippable content?

Like say, if i take a class, and solely focus on the class story (And some heroics to boost EXP when need be), and then push all the way to level 80, do i miss out anything in that path, that i cannot go back and do?

Thou far i can see, it seems that by and large, the biggest "Missable content" gate, is anything before Lvl 60? IE, you do KotFE, and then everything before story wise goes poof

as said above, if you start Knights of the Fallen Empire or Beyond at the quest giver aboard ship, it'll skip you with default choices, any and all DLC content will no longer be available. However I believe base-game planetary sidequests along with exploration quests on those planets won't change

if you're new i'd say turn on exploration quests, and just, do everything there's a TON of quests to do and a bunch of them are fun & just well written

You have the base game: First 50 levels and Ilum. Then you have Rise of the Hutt cartel (50-55) and SoR (55-60), both of these will be marked as auto-completed along with all side quests

once you start level 60+ content using your ship's quest system it will auto-complete all previous story content and any side quests locked behind the DLCs and main story,

but certain side areas like oricon you'll still be able to do

For someone who's unaccustomed to MMOs i usually recommend to shy away from stealth in order to get more comfortable with combat & the game, as you have the experience, i totally understand wanting to use stealth

Scoundral/Operative and Shadow/Assassin have permanent stealth, they're both melee specs but i also find them fun

Yeh, i get a good vibe of the game. Just as someone who likely would be doing a lot of open world content/Soloing, Stealth is kinda a bit higher value from what i seen so far

There's a 3rd option that being Marauder/Sentinel, they have a very minor 6 second invisibility, along with speed boosts that can maybe get you past a pack or two, it's what my main is, but i totally understand if it's less appealing

but i know at low level/casual content things like sorcerer's force storm, sniper's hail of bolts just does a bunch of aoe damage and can just decimate a group of enemies fairly quickly, could aruged that it can move around faster if you're able to know how to move quickly

Depends on the planet

If the planet is identical for both sides (most are), than you are getting the boost only once

But you also need to get it only once, so if you get it in rep side it'll count for imp side and vice versa

But if the planet is different for each side (Taris, Balmorra), then the datacrons count as separate and you need to get them on both sides for the full boost

But the rep side will still boost the imp side and vice versa

Jug/guard use 1 single saber
Assassins/shadows use duel sabers

You can technically equip say 1 handed lightsabers on assassin or marauder, but your not going to be able to use like, half of your abilities

In terms of armor it doesnt really matter. You can create an appearance using any armor you want regardless of specialty if your just for looks. Stat wise the difference between light/heavy armor is minimal to none nowadays.

it's the same recipe with a different appearance per faction

and even if there are faction-locked recipes for some reason, you can still craft and send them over

it's enough to have each crafting skill once

then biochem on any char you actively use for endgame to make use of reusable stimms and medpacks

and maybe a 2nd artificer if you really need a LOT of dyes

other chars can run triple gathering / mission skills

Current plan is to run 6 characters who each have 1 Crafting skill and its Gathering and Mission prerequisite skills. That takes care of every skill but slicing, though it creates a situation where I have a lot of Gathering and Mission redundancy.

Since all the crafting materials end up in the shared Legacy pool now, would it be better to have 2 dedicated Crafters, with the other 4 dedicated to Gathering and Mission-running?

Lysslo is an exceedingly rare drop from Hard Mode Hive of the Mountain Queen, a quite challenging single lair boss (much more difficult than any of the other HM single lair bosses, except Monolith). Which means you have to find 7 other people who are both hard mode+ raiders and willing to go in with you and farm for it. You will not be able to pug this.

There's a long jumping puzzle that takes you around the exterior of the whole building you're next to. Those are little hidden easter eggs throughout the game, there's a few on every planet. There are lots of good youtube guides online if you get lost, but trying them without a guide makes you cool. They give you some stats but not much, they're mostly just for fun and achievements and codex entires.

well, if you want to be a range DPS as any jedi/sit. you're locked to Sage or Sorcerer. (Throwing rocks around vs lightning) both have a "less flashy" dot (damage of timer) spec that's fun. Or a more flashy burst damage (lightning or telekenetics). I (personally) like sage's animations better because waves of force & tossing rocks & pebbles are nice. (I've been desensitized to lightning, too much of it lol)

If you want a double bladed lightsaber you're limited to melee DPS (Shadow or Assassin). Similarly they both have a less flashy dot spec and a more flashy burst spec. Both are very similar due to the double-bladed lightsaber but the Shadow will flourish their attacks with rocks or force energy, while assassin will have lightning coming off their shadow and have a more dark/red/purple color pallette

I'd recommend looking up raid povs as the class like povs on youtube

I'm a veteran player, so im partially biased towards the "old ways" when an inquisitor could only be a Sorcerer OR Assassin, and most of my playtime is on the Imperial side. Unless u think it's fun to put lightning on a jedi or rocks on a sith, if you're subscribed you can make an inquisitor with both Sorcerer & Assasin classes. And a Consular with both Sage & Shadow classes. Because of the way of balancing, assassin/shadow & sorcerer/sage are exactly the same except animations, so it's not recommended to grab both sage & sorcerer on the same character

Most classes have a "burst dps" job which is very flashy and is the traditional what you expect from the class, while the dot class is typically less flashy and deals with poison, bleed, force corruption, etc

im a raider, so i'll switch based on need. If i need to heal i go sorcerer (marauder cant heal), some fights need only like 1 or 2 melee, so swapping to ranged allows more flexibility between parties. And some fights just feel better on ranged than melee and vice versa

and be a trifecta on 1 character

but usually restrictions like needing 1 or 2 melee are on hardest difficulty raids and wont really matter at lower difficulty raids

hey guys, a new player wondering: do you guys actually use second classes for your chars or do you just start a new char if you want to play another class, for example i have a juggernaut and i could give him second class healer but isnt that like kinda annoying changing that stuff + gear all the time instead of having a char that IS actually his/her class?

My main character is a sage+guardian so I can heal, damage, or tank depending on whatever I see an ops group needs (or what I feel like at the moment). I just leave 3 sets of gear in my inventory and use the loadouts menu to swap in one click. It's really convenient.
Putting your gear in your legacy bank and just swapping characters isn't very inconvenient either, so you can do either method, but one click swapping is nice haha.
If you're choosing a second combat style, another thing some people like to consider is to have at least one of your combat styles to have stealth, so you can do stealth stuff when you feel like it. Some flashpoints and ops have skips if the group has 1 or 2 stealth characters.

stealth is super overrated

its completely unusable in operations (excluding very niche cases that barely save any time) and the uses in fps are very limited

in solo content its okay for the story but you get pulled out of stealth constantly in expansions
and the trade off for being a stealth class is that you are much more squishy than a nonstealth

sentinel/marauder is like one of the least squishy classes in the game

force camo, predation, saber ward, undying rage, cloak of pain (and whatever they're called on pubside, i forget)

because of the nonsensical way they removed abilities in 7.0, the leveling process for most classes is a bit iffy rn
but by far the best class that meets your conditions at 80 is anni mara, the 2nd best dps spec in the game

10k off heals passively, best single target dmg in the game under most conditions, i wouldnt call the entire rotation proc-based but there is stuff that procs in the rotation, and the rotation is much easier than the other meta class in the game (pyrotech), one of the tankiest specs in the game, and very mobile due to predation/double leap for story content (and has camo which is temp stealth)

and the best source is from operations
casual story player - ~6 mil / hr from sm ops
semicasual hard mode raider - ~65-75 mil / hr from hm xr
nim raider - anywhere from 100 mil to 1.5 billion per kill of nim xr depending on the drop u get (technically a 10 min fight, but may take a few pulls depending on skill level)
in other words, the better you are at the game, it is easier it is to make money

find a team in dedicated raiding discord servers or in guilds. keep in mind that it is very numbers heavy fight, u should already have solid foundation in your raiding experience and pull decent numbers

the general rule of thumb is that people tend to play with other people that are similar skill level

if someone is better than you, then they wont want to play with you
if someone is worse than you, then you wont want to play with them

so you pretty much do the level of content that you have access to (in this case, probably just story mode operations) and you try to get really good at them
and eventually you'll get noticed and moved up a tier (maybe into legacy hms)

and then you repeat the cycle
story mode ops --> legacy hm --> hardmares --> legacy nim --> nim dxun/nim xr --> nim gods

the steam payment issues are linked to EA accounts and usually occur the FIRST time you buy something via steam for the game. If it works once it should work always but as I said, I recommend the website for reasons listed above

I just came back to the game yesterday (haven't played since level 60 was the cap). I mained a healer back when raids released, so I queued as a healer for 4 random flashpoints today.

Honestly, why does the game even group people with a healer and no tank anymore? Everything died so fast that nobody ever dropped below 80% health, even during boss fights. All 4 Flashpoints were the same flashpoint repeatedly with absolutely nothing to heal.

Does the difficulty actually scale up later, or is all group content just like this now?

Added note: people skip everything possible even if the mobs only take like 5 seconds to kill for xp.
In 2 runs 1-2players even left the group because i accidently pulled while trying to to some skips they did.

So bank is for individual character, legacy is a shared bank for all characters within a server

cargo is for one char on the same server, so regardless the alt you only see the the contents for the alt you're logged into

legacy is for every char on the same account for that server. so only stuff not bound to char can be put in. that includes bound to legacy or gear marked binds in equip. and ofc creds as well. so you don't hit the 1mil cred limit.

and yes, guild bank is for stuff guild members put in to give to others but only unboound drops can be put in there, bind to legacy cannot be, regardless. only bind on equip
