so if you plan on playing more classes you can divide up the side content

the way I like to do it is one character does all the purple planetary story arcs and the class story

then the next does random sidequests

then the next does heroic missions

where character 1 does all quests on planet X

character 2 does all quests on planet Y

and character 3 on planet Z

ten the 4th planet is for character 1 again

Hey, I haven't played in over a decade. Last time I played, the level cap was 50. I was wondering, now that I see the level cap is 80, is there still class-specific story past the original 50? Basically I am wanting to know, if my friend has the same class origin as me, are we going to have to run the same missions twice all the time after level 50?

past the original story (after Corellia) i recall only 1 class-specific mission or Rishi which is different for 8 origin stories, the rest of the story is either the same for everyone, or different for Empire/Republic with a few slight decorative variations in conversations not affecting the story

I'm not really sure if this is a help worthy question, but: As I said before, I haven't played in nearly 12 years. I notice that prices in the GTN nowadays seem to be INSANELY inflated. Whenever I try looking up how people are making this many credits, the answer is always to sell either rare loot or Cartel items on the GTN. But you're losing tens of millions of credits in taxes every time an exchange happens, meaning those credits are straight up disappearing regularly. I see people saying you can make 15mil a day easily doing this. I think I read there's an 8% tax rate (appears to actually be 9%), so that's 1.2 mil going down the drain every day? How are these many credits even entering the economy this fast?

it was insanely inflated a few years ago, now it's deflating but still prices aren't as low as they were before the inflation (and people who made a fortune during the peak of inflation are quite rich now if they didn't spend their money)
still you can make decent (relatively) money by 1) running easy ops and selling OEMs/RPMs, 2) crafting or selling mats, 3) reselling stuff on the GTN once you get a starting capital, 4) maybe there are other ways

My understanding for twitched drugs is that it's based on you watching the live stream unless they have rewards otherwise. offering Twitch streamers like if you were to stream the game then they would make that offer on their website and prob the announcements fourms i think. So if you didn't get a reward drop, you'd have to check the swtor Twitch guidelines as to why.

depending on which route you go, if you get one FP piece, and upgrade to 340, GET THE QUEST FIRST you can salvage it for hyde & zeek prototype turn in. if you do ops. same for 340 Op gear, salvage 1 piece for the turn in 340 artifact.

Yeah it is most likely either a level restriction or a skill restriction. Just stick to that crude looking one you started out with, and pay attention that they match that. Or you can screenshot your sword in question and you char and post here and we can help you see what the hold up is. I started on sage myself but it has been a long while. I think I did the same kind of thing. Either one dropped or I bought one and couldn't use it. Eventually you find out in the story.
You will find a lot of this too, like you expecting this or that and not being able to do it for quite a while, just need to focus on leveling and exploration for a while.

make sure it's not just slotted in your outfitter tab, make sure it's on the 1st tab at the top left of the char window

The only other thing I can think of is maybe a skill leveled up and changed, or the slot changed. Are you using keybinds or clicking boxes? Also I think you need things in both slots, so maybe one is or isn't connected properly? Here is what my sage is looking like set up. Although I am using a vibrosword instead of sabre for some reason lol

arch is for those crystals, scavenging gets you metals and such, bioanalysis gets you plant stuff. and slicing prob one of the good ones, cuzz it gets you some credits, slicinng components, and even schematics sometimes

`If you’re a newer player, and didn’t have Dark V unlocked and didn’t have the option to choose a dark-side Combat Style when you created a character… while you are playing the story, if you make dark-sided decisions and your character has turned towards the dark side by moving their character Alignment bar into the Dark, you will have the option to flip your chosen Combat Style to its dark-sided counterpart, the Juggernaut, Marauder, Sorcerer or Assassin, while remaining a Jedi Knight. This choice to flip happens after you reach Chapter 3 of your Jedi Knight origin story.

If you are an experienced player and have already earned the Dark V achievement on any of your characters on your server, you won’t get this option to flip, since you had the option to choose a dark-side combat style when you were creating your character.`

the chance to learn new schematics is higher if you deconstruct more stacks, but don't deconstruct amounts exceeding "100%" or it will be bugged and you won't learn anything
like if 1 stack shows 20%, don't deconstruct more than 5 stacks at once

each Daily area has a bunch of daily quests that can be done evry day and one or two weekly quests that can be done every week

the activity finder has the weekly ones meaning you will have to manually travel to the mission terminals in the areas if you wanna do the quests more often

that is not efficient, though

I recommend doing it on different characters once per week each

rather than on one character daily

I wear the dread harbringer armor set from the DvL vendor
My friend wears another dread armor (it glows purple too).
When I look at my friend his mask and chest are glowing with a smooth fade as it should be.
When I look at my self the mask and parts of the chest are flickering ( doesn’t seem to be the way it was supposed to be )
My friend has the same problem
When looks at his character , it flickers
When he looks at me it’s smooth
So the armors only seem to show right to other players but not my self
Is that a bug I can fix myself ?

If I’d choose the second option then how would it change the story arc on Corellia since Darth Charnus plays a role in the planetary story arc as well

It's a good value to sub for one month and cancel. While subbed you can make chars of several different species (and keep them after the sub runs out). You'll also unlock all expansions including the unreleased parts of the current expansion, Legacy of the Sith, and max level of 80 permanently (also even after your sub runs out)

Ok so I thought I solved this on my main shadow, but I am on a agent turned powertech and I went to get the legacy equip from the vendor to put mods in and the blaster it sold me is bound, How can I get a legacy bound blaster pistol and offhand for pyro pt? I am trying to focus alt gear toward that spec over several chars.

you can put it in the outfiter solts, they save it but keep the items in your inventory or you can detle them of in your inventory if you want.

Basically the way this game works is you use a armor like that which is legacy bound, and you can put mods in it appropriate to the level you are at. A benefit of this is you can put it in yellow storage and take it out and put it on other characters. You can also have armor drop, but you generally wont have a full set while questing so I have found modding your armor as you go pretty handy when story gets harder. If you already have an set of armor you want to wear visually you add that to a preset then you store it in your green storage as that gear will be bound due to you wearing it.
In the supplies section of the fleet the first vendor has quite a few sets though that are legacy bound, so if you tossed those sets its fine, just a way to save some money as a new player.
Swapping gear won't really be relevant until level 80 on two characters so no big worries about it either way really. Most players start dying on alderaan and that is when you will want to mod your first set of gear to survive more comfortably.

Just be sure to follow your quests that are under class as you go, you can run other pink triangle missions which are plantary story, don't do the yellow ones that are like arrows that are heroics they are hard you do them after leveling

I watched a ton of youtuber, we are blessed with swtorista guides, and star wars central guides, so like tips and tricks, that kind of thing

You will want to go to the GTN side of fleet and go to the life day vendor and buy the life day snowball bomb, and start getting some free gifts during the event if you can

Everything has guides pretty much on youtube though, generally we only use this for things beyond that. But like life day event guide, look into that, and leveling guide swtor, etc

I have been thinking and wanted to share that as a completionist, and playing this game for a while, kill everything you can. You get achievements and conquest boosts, Whether or not you finish it isn't really the point, the point is while you ar4e lower level, you are going to be at these lower level places, and it is good practice and less tedious while you are new. You probably have seen what it looks like to unlock the map, and you can unlock pretty much all of it if you want to, and again achievements, xp, which unlocks other stuff in the game like vendor items you need ranks for. It isn't for everyone but I enjoy it, enjoy exploring, enjoy the small things, I do the exploration quests because it sends me to do the map unlocks and i get extra xp and stuff. Though you can always do that without the quests. Swtorista suggests as one of the fastest ways of leveling up is to go to planets especially like higher level planets, with a xp booster running and just take the shuttles around and ungrey maps. If you die, you die, you dont lose anything.

ah okay, in that case your gear is not the best but still decent for your level and you're also on level for your mission

to make things a bit more comfortable I guess you could raise your companion's influence level by getting them some gifts

there is a gift vendor on the fleet in the strongholds & crew skills section

but I generally recommend getting used to these harder fights and to using your defensive abilities etc

the story levelling process was simplified a lot a bit over 9 years ago and since then you have had a basically effortless run for anything as long as your companion is set to heal

while of course a challenge is not required for most people to enjoy the story experience, you will have to get used to not relying too much on a pocket healer if you wanna get into group content, PvP or soloing harder stuff in the future

However, after that happened SF was the bigger server and has become the default answer to "what NA server should I join?" which has sent lots of Aussies there. Both are located in the same server farm on the east coast now. Many have left SS for SF, and many have left both for SV. TLDR Sorry, IDK but they are on both.

um.. so for the dye module I can just apply it to a chest piece in the outfitter, but to change the color of a lightsaber I actually need to insert the new color crystal and then put the saber into the outfitter, right?

you can remove the color crystal from your lightsaber (and reuse it later), unlike dyes color crystals are a part of gear like mods, armorings, enhancements

Up to you, credits aren't too hard to earn on SF. No need for converting CC either honestly. If you're subbed you can run ops more frequently because of the higher number of players. Doing EV/KP and/or DF/DP SM once per day to buy oems or rpms will be a nice steady flow of credits. Won't jump you to billionaire instantly, but it's a stable method of gaining credits

Nope, that's it.
Run SM ops - they accumulate far faster than you might think. Also large conquest with a guild invasion is 1k/week per toon as well (500 tf for the conquest and 500 tf for the guild invasion).
There are achievements earned at item level 330 and 340 with the implants though that make them cheaper for future purchases - they become 2500 tf each upgrade.
So - LEVEL ONE TOON'S SPEC FIRST TO 340!

Then every thing else after is cheaper

This is an alt - her implant upgrade is only 2500 tf

How difficult are story mode Ops? So far I have only done veteran FPs and two or three master FPs (and world bosses) without any issues but no story Ops yet. Do they require more coordination and mechanics so that I should look them up before or can I go in blind and when in doubt just ask? I just hate being a burden to anyone.

One good way is to do Heroic missions on planets. Those will give you strong gear for your current level and also the enemies can drop something.

still the best way to start ops would be to run them once with a guild (some guilds have training ops events) or with a friend who can explain mechanics in voice chat
most sm ops have very few mechanics (especially if you play dps), and some fleet groups are nice enough to type instuctions in the chat (where to stand, what to click) if you tell them that you're new, i think only gods from the machine last boss and r4 are complicated enough that require a lot of patience from the group leader =)

Hi, I have a little issue I cannot solve.
I returned to the game late last year and moved my toons to SV.
While there, I bought the Imperial Fleet Penthouse and Mek-Sha stronghold on SV.
I later swapped all my toons back to SF.
I can see in my legacy that I unlocked both the Penthouse and Mek-Sha, but I cannot access them on SF. They do not appear in my stronghold tab.
Coincidentally (or maybe not relevant), a duplicate of one toon that I swapped off SV remains there on that server. (Yes, it did transfer, but I can also log into it on SV).
Is it possible that duplicate is keeping me from accessing those 2 strongholds on SF?
Or would I have to rebuy them on SF?

yea the token strongholds don't transfer

you would have to buy the unlock item on server A

then transfer that item in your inventory to server B

if you wanted to use a different server's tokens

Is there any way to play the Traitor arc as a group? I know they're Solo flashpoints but we don't care about ~spoilers~ or whatever, it's about actually being in the same instance and interacting with the content together that matters to us. It's a bit disappointing that there seems to be no way to enter my friend's instance of Crisis on Umbara SOLO, either through having her hop into her instance first and then me afterwards (it just puts me in my own instance even if I haven't spoken to Theron in the side room first), or using a different character (not allowed to enter), and the usual option we had during KOTFE/KOTET to 'Summon to Story Instance' is not available here

1. Vulkk is definitely ... overselling it. IMO, at least. He says SWTOR's solo PVE is so easy things die before a full rotation. So offers a special build to compensate for that? Why?
2. Just use your normal raiding/FP/PVP/whatever build and use a simplified rotation: generate your class resource and spam AOE to overland PVE victory!
3. If it is so easy why are you trying to 'optimise' a build for it?

Honestly, the 'key' to solong stuff is your companion's level. A level 50 comp in heal mode = victory

1. Yeah, rotation is basically an optimal sequence - or better priority order often times - of what skills to use when.
2. Yep, a companion is an AI party member you acquire while playing. Every class gets their first pretty quickly and there are eventually many to choose from. Each can do any role of tank, heal or damage.
3. Really depoends on what content you will want to do. It sounds like you are just starting so, honestly, its nothing to concern yourself with really until level 80. Most guild discords seem to have a channel for build info. But, I like a person on YouTube called Coosh for builds and his daily MM FP run videos are funny.
4. Anything outside of veteran content can pretty much be done however you wish. Its not a difficult game (unless you are doing the hardest content) and only gets easier as you figure everything out. I never played KOTOR so cannot compare.

The fun is definitely in the class stories and quests so enjoy

you'll always see someone low level like 24 playing in an FP with a lvl 80 through activity finder

But in most cases, the higher level player would be getting XP, just reduced XP, but level 1 enemies aren't worth XP at all to a level 10, so I'm concerned that "no XP" penalty will apply to other group members.

That's how WoW worked, anyway, and A LOT of TOR's design takes after WoW, so while this is a niche edge case, I'm not sure if it applies here as well.

To unlock an armor you have to bind it first by equipping it. So you can't sell it afterwards. But it'll be in your collection and you'll be able to collect it for your other characters if you want.

In ||Onslaught, yes, to an extent. You can side with the Republic. It doesn’t really change much apart from some story scenes. Like for example you’ll always be locked into going to Imperial Fleet/DK regardless. You can only “switch sides” in a superficial sense||

Yeah, I was in the same boat as you. Returned to the game and trying to decide where to go. I found Shae Visla has some great people but it is quiet. There are some great guilds - I'd recommend Hold My Beer. But yeah, you just cannot beat Star Forge. I've not had real trouble finding groups during our Sydney time zone evening.

If you're referring to a masters datacron, nothing. It skips no story and simply boosts you to max level.

If you're referring to new character creation, it makes a set of "default" choices for you, prioritizing light side choices on the pub side and dark side choices on the imp side.

As long as you don't actually start playing and doing missions, you can delete the character and get your token back.

Ok, this is a quasi SWTOR question, it has to do with Steam mainly. If I uninstall Steam, and then reinstall it, do I have to reinstall all the games I have on it? Been having problems with several games, including SWTOR, and with how each game is doing the same thing, I think it's a Steam issue.

if your steam library is in the same folder as the steam installation then yes, everything will be uninstalled. If you have your library in a different directory, the games will stay. You can manually move your library (folder called "steamapps" in the Steam installation directory) if you want to before uninstalling Steam

A single week? I think, technically, the fastest way is doing NiM Nefra/Dash runs so you'd need a stable of toons to juggle the lockout.
No. If you are not doing NiM/MM then max level gear is overkill. I have been told the current stuff is tuned for a lower gear level than current max.

1 - focus on getting two implants to 340 first. There are achievements that unlock at getting two implants to 330 and 340 making it much cheaper for future implants - and you will eventually get many implants. Frag runs with SM ops happen all the time. DF and DP are supposedly the fastest for frags but F me I am tired of them so I enjoy doing all the others instead.
2 - You will need more than just 2 implants. Also tacticals. After that, the OEM and RPM mats from a vendor in the PVE gear side (just cannot recall her name - she is at the desk next to the tactical guy).
3 - No idea. I am not chasing them in any near future. (I too am recently returned and am happy with 344 gear and lesser augments - honestly, we are so overgeared at the moment and I am not doing NiM ops any time soon either).
4 - No idea.

Yo, I tried to transfer my main character from Satele to Star Forge because I had a free transfer available. I could VISUALLY see the "free transfer" button but when I clicked to confirm the transfer, the "free transfer" disappeared and was immediately replaced with 1000cc charge.
