Same with your Secondary Combat Style.

Once you've chosen both, you can't change them.

I found an old alt imperial agent, the only missing in legacy and he's an operative, I might preferred to have him as a ranged so sniper. Is sniper a good second combat style ? Or would I be missing out on something ?

In preferences there's a setting called 'max camera distance' you can adjust, which may be the source of your issue. iirc when its set super low you can zoom in, but not back out beyond your max. The default is like 20-30%; which is the 'normal; level of camera zoom.

I've been told that starting KotFE will lock me out of doing past stories, does it remain true once I'm done with all main storie in legacy of the sith ?

You're locked out of the main story. That is the list of all content in the game and it's order in the story.

I don't get the point of master flashpoint as I'm getting 320 gear blue which are droping is veteran as well. How am I suppose to unlock hyde an seek? Upgrading ? just 2 ilvl is a crazy amoutn of rsources than even 8 flashpoint didn't give me.

i dunno about master, i did veteran for 330 blue, and there are 2 ways:

• pick a weekly from the terminal on the fleet to do 3 random flashpoints thru the groupfinder without filtering, it should give you a chestpiece of higher irating than the one you have
• upgrade any accessory (ear, implant, relic, - i did ear) to 330 green and run some easy vet FP like Hammer Station, it'll drop a blue accessory of the same irating as the green you have, but a random type (slot) so you may need to repeat it

ah, the 3rd way, i guess you can upgrade that 320 blue at the fleet vendor for FP currency but i dunno if it's worth it
i just bought and upgraded a green (conquest) item to 330 at the conquest gear vendor and then got 330 blue via FP

Depends. Solo likely heroics, assuming you have bonus missions to do. Otherwise fps, but that depends on the group/access to help.

It depends on your personal speed in heroics vs. the average speed of a random fp with random players. Normally heroics will be faster, esp as a group.

Hello! So, I don't really need help per se, but. I am considering coming back to this game after a few years of being away, and was wondering: is it still any good? I heard there was a pretty controversial update a while back, so I am curious what the general opinion is before I try to download it on my slow internet

Short version: Yes. Long version: it depends. If your main concern is the issues/what you've heard about 7.0; the dust from the expansion release is more or less settling and (in my opinion) 7.2 turned out pretty well. Otherwise it's mostly going to depend a lot on when you last played and what you enjoy about the game.

Use the Stronghold slot machine deco. You can usually find one in public listed SH's. They use currency from one of the deco vendors at fleet, although iirc that vendor can be a deco as well.

by doing the Introduction to Strongholds quest you can get her (alongside some other basic decors n stuff) as a reward

Hey all. Dumb question probably, but im returning to the game after years and i never really got into it, hope i can now. Regarding the titles and the new classes/allegiances systems. If i create a "Jedi / Marauder" can i get the Sith titles, like Darth? or if i create a "Sith / Guardian" for example ?

No, you still have to do the appropriate origin story to get titles. So a jedi consular that had the marauder combat style would get master, a sith warrior with a sage combat style would get darth, etc.

sorry for the late answer, not sure if you still need help, but

(1) make sure that your gear is also on par with your level (I forget sometimes and end up walking around with equipment thats 20 levels below me)

(2) read and learn your defensive cooldowns (stuff like saber reflect on warrior, kolto overload on bounty hunter etc) and try to time them accordingly to the hardest hitting attacks of your opponent

(3) use heroic moment for regeneration

(4) bring a stim and medipacks. You might not need them 99% of the time so its easy to forget they exist but they can help in a pinch

Thanks for the reply. I ended up abandoning the quest and choosing a more peaceful solution. I don't know if the Sith Warrior Sorcerer is too frail for duels or what but I really struggle with her. I wish I had chosen a different sub-class.

you could set your companion's role to healer if you ahven't or, if you have but are still struggling with survivability, rank up your companion with gifts

Sorry, only when the game takes away your companion is it hard. The game is very easy when you have your companion with you. Vette is way stronger than my Sith Warrior. She could win the whole war by herself lol.

Each tank kind of has its own gimmick, powertechs usually have the highest base defense and will in general have a bit more passive tankiness.
Assassins have to keep a buff running 24/7 due to using light armor. They’ve got some pretty strong defensives and I know they’re pretty tanky.
Juggernauts may be what you’re looking for. They have self healing as well as just some really really good overall self healing. Juggernauts imo may be what you’re looking for

Each expansion is skippable if you meet the level requirements of a future one. However, if you’re imperial, it’ll just auto-complete all choices as default dark side. Similar to republic doing all default light side.

So it kind of ruins the experience

I found out that I can leave a solo story mode flashpoint even though I was the only in it, and return without losing progress. I forgot to get the quest for the flashpoint before entering it. Got the final boss and died a couple times before I realised I had the quest at the ‘speak to x’ stage and not ready for the flashpoint. I progressed the quest and then re-entered and killed the final boss and got the quest completed.

a Hypercrate sells for around 9 billion and costs 5400 CC (~1.6m credits per cc)

you can probably sell a Datacron for more if you are patient. at 6 billion you would make ~ 1.8-1.9 credits per cc

which is about the same as selling the small packs from the hypercrate individually

I would look at the price of a single flagship plan of each type on the GTN

you need 50 of those for a framework so the credit cost for buying them immediately as frameworks will prob be around 45x individual plan price

I believe the total amount of frameworks needed is somewhere between 70 and 75

but I am not sure how the breakdown between the 3 types is

the credit cost for unlocking in addition to the frameworks is negligible at under 100m total

Depends on the server/if you craft them yourself. so <1mil-20 mil, expect 10-20 mil if buying. The thing with golds is that they're sort of the worst of all the options out there; not as fast as a compendium, not as cheap as all purps or doing the long haul with green to blue to purp.

I was looking into the endgame parses on parsely (Noob here but raider in other games so I was curious about balance), I was curious about how big of a deal it is to be peak dmg in SWTOR? It looks like there are a few specs that chill at 32k+ DPS, but then there are some at 28k. Are you a huge detriment to your group if you're not playing one of the 32k+ specs?

their is many different weekly missions in the game and come under two different types.

their is weekly missions for conquest which are around daily areas, pvp, starfighter and operations

then their is the seasonal objective ones, shown in your screenshot, that change each week and are their to progress you through the season for rewards

depends on the level of endgame you aim to play at. Proper end DPS is only important for veteran and nightmare mode content. for story mode if you're pulling 20k a group will be happy to have you along. if you're a good player then you can play most specs/classes in this game In almost all forms of the game and do well. As a DPS your use is in how well you know your class. can you dodge circles, know which defensives cheese what mechanics, remember to interrupt boss abilities etc. Parsley only shows the DPS uploaded to it so it only can give an indication.

To find most weekly missions such as operations and pvp their are terminals on the fleet you need to use. for many of the Daily area weekly missions you must go to their planets and find the correct terminal

iirc slicing mats are needed to craft highlvl augments and other stuff
anyway imo it's a very profitable skill since you can run grade 11 mission "Off the Radar" which often brings you grade 11 missions unlocks, and they give you a lot of mats and some legendary embers

first, to make crew skills profitable and not a slow pain, you need 50 lvl influence companions =)
that one unique slicing mission in roughly 1 out of 4 times will give you a purple item to unlock another crew skill mission which will give you most valuable mats (you can check their price on the GTN)

i confirm that slicing mats are used everywhere, for example, to craft mk-11 kits, components to craft augments (synt, arms and armor), even tacticals (though only one craftable tactical is good, the rest are purchased at vendors)

i dunno about how expensive they are, i always hoarded mats instead of selling them xD according to GTN they're cheaper than bioanalysis mats, but any money is good =)
and that's how mission "Off the radar" looks like, it gives you some lockboxes with jawa junk (which can be traded for mats at jawa vendors) and sometimes a random grade 11 mission. if you have an alt character with the relevant crew skill, you can run this mission, otherwise you can sell it on GTN for a few millions

the missions are random, it might be slicing mission as well. investigations and treasure hunting missions are <1mil, the rest are >>1mil (especially bio and archaeology)
but if you're f2p your inventory limit is 1 mil, you can store your money in the legacy bank but can't buy anything more expensive than 1 mil =(

iF you want to play solo, just do heroics, but if you dont mind multiplayer stuff, best way to level is group finder/warzones & doing the daily/weejky mission for them

For yourself personally no not really. the idea of conquest past 100K is to help your guild win planets, their are achievements for being the guild to conquer a planet and each planet you conquer you get a legacy title for it. But unless you in a massive guild or pull mental conquest you stand no chance unless on special weeks when all planets go up for grabs

i get sound from the rest of my pc, and also when i log in to swtor, but once im inside the game to choose my character or when im in the world the sound is gone

You probably accidentally pressed CTRL+S which i believe is toggle sound, in the sound settings it's a box says "Enable Sound"

when it says free to play players get less experience, how much less is it? and it also says i can use experience boosts to make it less, so if i have a major experience boost do i get the same xp as subscribers? or more?

Not sure how much less but it is noticeable, you have to do a lot more side missions to catch up, and boosts help but subscribed players also use boosts and get the same amount as ftp so it does not close the gap at all

I would recommend deciding how much time you're gonna spend on the game, if it wont be much you might be fine without it. but if you intend to play the game a decent amount then maybe it's worth subbing. You do miss out on a lot not subbing and I would highly recommend it for the gameplay bonus but also cause it properly supports the game

Only certain gear can have mods, so their are sabers that use mods for stats and someone have inbuilt stats. typically cartel sabers are modable

There’s some gear that looks different for republic and empire. I remember putting an outfit on an imperial class companion and it defaulted to Jedi robes because it was displaying the republic version.

either the companion was set to the passive mode (the 2nd icon on the comp's skillbar) or it's a common bug when companions just suddenly misbehave and there's no way to fix that

by default you'll have your companion's portrait and abilities bottom-left of your screen

from left to right it'll have its "fight" button, "passive" where they stop attacking until you turn passive mode off, and then the rest are their abilities based on whether they're a tank, healer, or dps role

your main class story, any companion conversations you didn't complete, and SoR (Shadow of Revan) are affected if you start KotFE, so if you care about any of those before starting, finish them

hi! in #general-tips there's a "story map" you can follow that'll help you out; it's, so far, the most updated iteration of it after the main class story
next up is ilum, which the game autogives the starter quest for if you completed ch3 when your character is lvl50+
