What could I be doing wrong?

I released a video yesterday and since it's about a hot topic right now, it became my most viewed video in a record amount of time. The problem is, the CTR sits at an abysmal 3,5% even though I tried creating an eye-catching thumbnail and think of a good title without it being clickbait...
