I need feedback on my channel. What is going wrong? What went right? Because multiple of my shorts surpassed 10k, and 2 videos surpassed 1k with extreme enagement. I'm literally going insane cause i get positive comments, some even surprised at the low performence, yet, its, well, LOW! At this point I don't even care if i get 100 views or 5,000.

Personal Theories:
What Went Right With Those Longs

  • The idea was good (Common thing but with a twist)
  • It was actually entertaining
    Whats Wrong:
  • VO (I didn't have settings to make it clear and thought it was good so engagmenet/understandability was cooked. Someone even kindly commented on it in a video).
  • I genuinely dont know.

Nice feedback post! Please keep in mind that all feedback is provided out of the good will of the community, so it may take some time for you to get a response.

Please avoid reposting or begging members in other channels to check out this thread.

If you receieve no feedback at all, consider that as feedback in a sense.

Every UCN animatronic ranked on difficulty, by a 50/20 NDC conqueror and future king of FNAF. There's only 56 of them. What could possibly go wrong?

You're doing incredible!
Some quick analysis I think your successful videos performed well because they appealed to a wider audience who enjoys the series. FNAF fans get to engage with the series more and encourages discussions which is much more appealing compared to your 2 most recent uploads for example.
They are less appealing to a wider audience, and more designed for your subscribers/core audience. You'll get encouraging comments, but less likely from new viewers.

Another big thing is that you're changing the content a little too much. You teir list/discussion videos are doing well, but then your newest uploads are a let's play, and after that a montage edit? You're confusing the algorithm a little and it's struggling to know what audience to push it out to. It's good you're keeping it within fnaf, but if you specialize a little more and try doing more discussion videos I think you'll do a little better.

However, it's not always about numbers. I thought I'd answer your question directly first before sharing my personal recommendation, but just keep going as you are honestly. If you want to make more montage edits cuz you think they're cool, full send it! Forget about performance. Sometimes you just got to explore and you'll be surprised where you might end up! Montage edits especially challenge your growth a lot as a creator and are the healthiest content to make imo, but they perform the worst on average for everybody no matter how well done they are. Pace yourself my friend, you're doing a lot better than most people imo

I'm just not being wide enough

#

Thats it?

#

Like my newer content is designated for subs/loyals that i dont yet have instead of everyone?

#

Also do the other videos count as wide? (The Scott Cawthon one and the Sister Location one)? Cause their doing meh and idk if its because of the bad VO quality

i'll clear up a worry rn and mention your VO quality is not the issue that's making videos fail or not. It's perfectly fine imo

#

You're welcome to keep improving it as it will only have positive impacts, but I'd suggest putting more mental energy into what the core content is about and your script structure

#

Yes those videos count as wide, and I think they only failed just because it wasn't interesting enough as a core concept

#

If you try making more you'll learn from experience what ideas work and what doesn't

#

I have a personal channel where i upload videos about anime for example and I also struggle with this. I had some do better than others because the core concept and overall message was more interesting compared to others, I think im decent at finding the hidden meaning in some anime others fail to notice so as i make more i'm trying to lean into that

#

The main channel I normally work on is built on appealing to a wider audience (@MiyraMirage). Subscribers only make up maybe 10% of our average views, and it's because we play into the concept of "I wonder what this person thinks about my favorite thing" and they click not because of the creator but because of thing that's being talked about; and then they get to know the creator as a consequence

#

idk if all that makes sense or not
