Hello lovely creators!

I am an avid gamer and I love to create video essay about Dota. This game is so good and I have been playing it for nearly two decades.

  • I am writing to ask about your thought my video engagement, because English is not my mother tongue. Here is the link to my video: https://youtu.be/Rxxn0mp4D7k
  1. Do you think the structure and flow of my essay good, or is it not straight to the point?

  2. How understandable was my English? Was it hard to follow through due to my pronunciation?

  3. How was my effect? Does it fit my content/ what I said during the video?

I thank you so much in advance for your support! I would love to give my (5 cent take) on your video as well, so that we can grow together! 😁

Hi Nguyen, I watched your video. I'll try to answer your questions one by one (sorry if it gets kinda long)

#

Structure and flow: Honestly, I think it’s really good. It doesn’t feel messy or unfocused at all. And since it’s a video essay, I don’t think being “straight to the point” is necessarily the goal. Essays are meant to explore, to build ideas, to sit with a topic a bit. From my personal taste, the more thoughtful you are about it, the better. So no, I don’t think your structure is a problem — it flows naturally.

#

English and pronunciation: It was completely understandable. Yeah, you have an accent, but that's not a bad thing. English isn't my first language either, so I get that feeling of "what if people don't understand me?"

#

One small thing I noticed (and this is just a tip I use). Sometimes when we re-record small parts while editing, the tone or audio texture changes slightly. There's a small moment like that in your video (06:08). What I personally try to do is record in longer takes, and if I mess up, I just pause myself and repeat the sentence in the same session, so the audio stays consistent. It's a small detail, but it helps

#

Also if you feel unsure, you can add your own subtitles. I always do mine manually or with a transcribe tool to help me do them (Not because I don't tust youtube captions, but just for extra clarity)

#

Effects: If you mean the visual and audio effects, plus editing choices, they fit really well. They support what you are saying without becoming distracting

#

Overall, I think your passion for Dota really comes through. That’s the kind of thing you can’t fake and that matters more than perfect pronunciation. My two cents, hope this helps you :)

Thanks for the tips regarding my record! It was nice of you to have watched my video although you dont play the game! I typically record myself straight away after I have finished a part in my script, but it seems, I have to finish the whole script now before recording… 😅

In addition: Is there anything I can help for your channel? I would be more than happy to help. 🙂

@real vapor Hey my friend, I dont know if you still remember me

Because your niche is new to me, I have to do some research. If I understand correctly, what you do is sharing your life valuable lesson while playing video games right? That is a fantastic combination! Actually, I have found a semilar channel to yours. https://www.youtube.com/@RawLens3

#

In my opinion, your voice is great. It makes very soothing narration.

#

But for this niche, I believe the video could be longer (around 15 - 20+ mark). The audience is expected to hear a long story while they are AFK-ing and doing something.

#

Furthermore, I believe you could add some effect/ Illustrative images during your talk so that the arguments could seem more meaningful.

#

He highlighted important quote

#

Sometimes illustrative images 17:40 "neglected parents and dont care about you"

#

Im sorry for my latereply. I hope my feedbacks are useful to some extent

I am grateful for your help earlier 😄
