New Age Llamas is a focus group of content creators aspiring to turn their hobbies into careers. The main ideal of the Llamas is to make the initial burden of starting out a bit easier by maintaining a friendly and supportive environment that encourages working consistently. Every month we start a 30 day challenge where members are expected to log daily what kind of work they put in. Logs and progress will be tracked and followed up with weekly summaries of everyone’s accomplishments.
Pros of joining the Llamas:
• Being surrounded by a group of highly dedicated and friendly members (Some of us have even monetized already!).
• Weekly follow ups on your progress for each challenge.
• Access to a separate chat room and vc on this very server.
What we expect of our members:
• Showing up, working on your content (A minimum average of 2 hours per day), and making daily logs.
• Maintain a good attitude within the group.
• Communication if you’re expecting to be absent.
• Ability to commit to the long term.
If you’re interested in a group like this feel free to apply in the thread. What we need from each application is:
• Your YouTube channel or whatever primary platform you use.
• What are your long term goals for this content?
• How much you currently work on your content.
• How frequently do you upload/post new content.
• Do you have a creative system that helps with content production? Tell us about it.
• How do you currently keep yourself on task when you’re feeling down about content creation?
• What do you expect out of a group like this?

#

We're currently in the middle of a 30 day challenge now with the next one starting on Nov 10th. Our hope is to pick 2-3 people to join the Llamas over the weekend and bring them into the group before the beginning of the next 30 day challenge. If you have any questions feel free to ask!

  • Your YouTube channel or whatever primary platform you use.
My Main YouTube channel is this
    https://www.youtube.com/@LeSaii

  • What are your long term goals for this content?
My long term goals for this is to make sure that I'm consistent at at least one creative thing I do!

  • How much you currently work on your content.
A lot...kind of? I want to put a lot onto my work but by doing so I end up putting my own expectations really high, what that results in being is really high quality projects(at least to me) and explosive growth, but the output itself is also explosive, as in really inconsistent

  • How frequently do you upload/post new content.
sometimes it could be multiple times a week, sometimes twice a year or even once a year actually(that was a really long time ago and it seems that I'm making more progress now)

  • Do you have a creative system that helps with content production? Tell us about it.
Storyboards are cool, and keeping things simple is cool as well, oh and aligning visuals with audio is also pretty cool!! oh and playing around with viewers eyegaze is also really really cool!!

  • How do you currently keep yourself on task when you’re feeling down about content creation?
I simply create because I wanna create, the only thing that doesn't keep me on task is litterally me getting distracted as I very much am diagnosed with ADHD.

  • What do you expect out of a group like this?
Pressure will make me more consistent, pls hep

Your YouTube channel or whatever primary platform you use
https://www.youtube.com/@LuxuriousLich

What are your long term goals for this content?
My main goal is to do something creatively. Which is why I try to make more and more art myself and steer into different directions at time.
My main goal is to entertain people, preferably making them laugh. That's why I'm trying my hand at comedy and animation.

I very deliberately don't set hard goals for myself. I do this thing as a hobby and will not treat it like a second job (yet I take it seriously, as I tend to do with my hobbies). Should I ever get successful, I will probably change that.

How much you currently work on your content?
~20-30 hours/week

How frequently do you upload/post new content?
With my new schedule the goal is 2 skits per month. If I do a long video it's less frequent.

Do you have a creative system that helps with content production? Tell us about it
I go from idea to script, which is usually done the same day (I make very short videos).
I record and start animating. I re-record as I go.
This is probably the part I'm struggling with the most. I get distracted VERY easily. Maybe the accountability part will help me :)

How do you currently keep yourself on task when you’re feeling down about content creation?
I take a break for a few days and do stuff with my spouse. As well as friends. Going into nature is a big source for creative energy as well for me.

What do you expect out of a group like this?
Actually sticking to a proper schedule for once. Logging everything on your own is more easily said than done. With an accountability group I can (hopefully) actually stick to it.

Aside from that I hope to give and receive feedback and receive support with technical as well as creative roadblocks I might encounter (big fan of skill sharing and brainstorming).

I'm looking forward to your answer. Thank you for your time!

Your YouTube Channel or Whatever Primary Platform you use.

https://www.youtube.com/@TheBattleScope

What are your long term goals for this content
At the rate this channel is growing, I'm hoping to turn this into a full time job soon. As the channel grows, I'd like to be able to hire a full team to help me produce even better content. But for the time being this is a one man show.

How much you currently work on your content
I spend about 10 hours a day Mon-Friday to produce 1 video so extremely time consuming.

How frequently do you upload/post new content
I upload 1-2 times a week, but it highly depends on how long the video is.

Do you have a creative system that helps with content production? Tell us about it.

  1. Research competitors within my niche. Find outliers within their channels and put all of that into a spreadsheet.

  2. Research the topics and then write the script.

  3. Create voiceover and then start editing video.

  4. Create thumbnail.

  5. Schedule video on Thursday.

How do you currently keep yourself on task when you’re feeling down about content creation?

If I'm being honest, I have no choice but to keep my self on task. This is basically my job so I have to treat it like one.

What do you expect out of a group like this?
Learning more from like minded individuals and people that are successful in this field. Receive and give feedback on thumbnails and content. And most importantly grow with everyone.

What are your long term goals for this content?
Understanding how Youtube works, I want to improve to be able to do this full time

How much you currently work on your content?
30-40H/week

How frequently do you upload/post new content?
I try to pull out one short per day
Try to stick to a video every 10 days (i'm a slow editor and don't like to rush)

Do you have a creative system that helps with content production? Tell us about it
I always start a video with a cinematic introduction, it kicks my motivation since I love doing those.
I use game tools to brake the camera, place it wherever i want and pretty much create a short movie within Dark Souls 3.
Then I review my gameplay and start thinking about memes, cinematic moments, and look for a funny idea and then try to execute it which can take time. I'm a slow editor, I use Premiere pro, photoshop.

How do you currently keep yourself on task when you’re feeling down about content creation?
That's the hardest part, and why i joined the discord. I invest a lot of time and energy editing, and seeing my videos getting very low views just puts my moral down and I tend to give up. I want to keep pushing and i have Hope that I can do it.

I'm trying to think about the jobs I had in the past and how miserable I was. I want to edit videos and make it my main activity just to be happy, i just love it, that's what i want to do.

What do you expect out of a group like this?
Keeping motivated, knowing I'm not alone and support each others. The feeling of isolation when nothing works is pretty intense and hard to overcome, it snowballs into an avalanche of negativity that i want to get rid off, and I think having a group where i feel I belong will help.
I'd love to receive and give feedback and tips from other content creators. Also able to help however i can with my little knowledge.

Thank you ❤️

• Your YouTube channel or whatever primary platform you use.
https://www.youtube.com/@razurose
• What are your long term goals for this content?
My long term goals are to build up skills via making content. It is more of a hobby then a job, but it is good source for skill learning for me
• How much you currently work on your content.
Directly on my content, varies majorly. When i get into a project I work on it alot, and recently ive been more so working on animations.
• How frequently do you upload/post new content.
Tends to be like 2 or 3 times a year, but i stream more often. I want to get a stream schedule where I stream once a week, however I havent been able to figure out how to do that constantly with school and medical stuff.
• Do you have a creative system that helps with content production? Tell us about it.
Alot of times im bouncing ideas in my head. Ill work on bits and peices, and then kind of mesh them together, then make more pieces to fill in the holes. It does lead to many unfinished projects as my orgainization is awful.
• How do you currently keep yourself on task when you’re feeling down about content creation?
I usually switch to a different aspect. I start animating bits, drawing characters, making new voice lines. I get excited about the new thing, then have the motivation to insert the new thing into the big picture.
• What do you expect out of a group like this?
Accountability, and also kind of a log of what on earth ive done. I have a bad habit of scattering my notes everywhere, and im easily distracted. Im also hoping to become more consistent, and doing things daily, rather than spending like 15 hours doing it randomly and burning out.

Thank you to everyone that's applied so far! I hope you've all been having a great week and want to give you an update. Our group has started discussing applications and who we'd like to bring in for the next challenge and we will make our decisions by the end of the weekend. We may ping you in this thread if we have additional questions. I will reach out to the chosen applicants on Monday but will also let everyone know here so the people who weren't chosen aren't left in the dark.

#

Enjoy your weekends!

#

For anyone that is still interested in applying, we are still accepting applications but please have them in soon so we have time to discuss whether you'll make a good fit for the group

I actually don't participate in the challenge or have an active youtube channel. I just manage the group and track people's progress so the people doing the challenge can focus on what's important.

Our current members have a variety of channels: Gaming, anime, productivity, art, music, and comedy. We've had plenty of other types come through in the past as well. We've got channels with subs ranging from double digits to over 10k. A couple members even started new channels recently after deciding to pivot to new content

coarse onyx
# shadow island So if we get chosen, what exactly is the challenge?

I view the llama group as a two fold:

  1. the challenge. Isnt a "challenge" lol sorry, we do chat about it like it is because og it was, but now like Sondre says its not a challenge as much as an accountbaility group. Its a challenge I suppose in that you must be accountable, action oriented, taking on tasks and ready for the next one, whatever that may be for whatever you choose to do, whihc could be hard at first or hard for some people, but its really just a spot for serious creators and people who want to seriously create, so the pace is set by you but the expectation of "working towards something" can be challenging to some. But we have all sorts of creators working on all sorts of stuff at all sorts of paces.
  2. OMG the friendsssss, its also a chat room on the server. One of the three "special group rooms" so it's nice to be in simply because the people are there to chat!! And we chat about all sorts of stuff (including YT) and get along and help each other out! ||The number of times Ive cried over sounding like a chipmunk and Sondre would come over and save my terrible audio 😭🙏||

What are your long term goals for this content?
For main channel:

  • Drive my creativity to new heights
  • be an outlet for said creativity and create stories
  • receive one message from a viewer that I inspired them to do better in their life and live freely without the worry of judgement (lame I know, but I figured I'd like to be an example for someone like me out in the world thinking they aren't capable of ddoing anything in this world.)
  • Tell some of the most memorable stories YouTube (and other platforms) have ever known/seen.
  • vanity stuff/metric stuff
    • hit 1,000 subscribers by April 2025
    • get monetized by June 2025
    • Have at least 3 major projects uploaded by November 2025
    • create 3 sub categories of content that I can be proud of (i.e. Hero, hub, hygiene)
    • break out of the "anime" content and branch out into content surrounding the culture/ultimately become a variety channel based around my interests.
  • have fun

Second Channel:

  • place for me to upload experimental content such as Vlogs, different niche topics like Muay Thai/Combat sports and fitness, mainly an all-purpose channel that I plan to use to just keep me on my game/if I don't think an idea is good enough for main channel I can still upload here.

  • a hub for the "hardcore" viewer that wants to get some more content of mine and/or get some behind the scenes stuff.

  • Metrics/vanity

    • None. I don't plan on caring about metrics for this channel at all. This is purely for me to offload a ton of content to keep my wits about/learning/to just dump content for the sake of it.

Third Channel:

  • This channel will be niched in Music/Music Creation/Guitar and of the like.
  • I have the same plans as the main channel for this one but at a lesser extent.
  • This is also a channel for me to keep me consistent on keeping up with my practice with instruments due to my Job lol.

How much you currently work on your content.

  • Daily for platforms like Instagram (eventually reels)

How frequently do you upload/post new content

  • Daily for platforms like Instagram (eventually reels)
  • YouTube; about to upload to second channel once a week to start
  • Main channel; Hoping to upload at least once every 3-4 months (this will really just depend on the poroject itself so I'm not going to place any HARD STOPS on when to upload. Since I know YouTube is more about quality than it is consistency. This channel will be my best of the best.
  • Second Channel; Starting this week (Monday the 3rd of November) I will plan to upload at least once per week to start, aiming to eventually upload daily vlogs (like, static headshot videos talking about random topics of what I'm doing in life, etc.) and eventually (end goal) uploading some legit Casey neistat style vlogs with a bit more care and love in the editing, filming, and presentation of it. WILL NOT BE DAILY though when i do this. I'll end up returning it to once a week and maybe low quality static headshot videos in between when I feel like it.

Do you have a creative system that helps with content production?

  • I write out scripts for my main channel, storyboard (draw out the scenes prior to filming) to know how it'll look when I film, just spit out 100s of ideas and narrow it down until I get the best 5, watch other youtube videos in my niche to catch which ideas would preform well, steal a ton of ideas from those videos (like their execution, camera angles, audio design, music, and such) then remix all that into my own style, grab 100s of video's thumbnail and titles to match against each other and see which ones do well, which ones don't, why, and then try to use that info on making my own titles, and last (still more but this is getting long) I try to understand the demographic I'm trying to target, their likes, dislikes, do they prefer fast paced or slow paced content, etc.
#

How do you currently keep yourself on task when you’re feeling down about content creation?

  • I'm a Christian, I don't go on willpower alone, I just keep my hope up with these simple verses: But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you Matthew 6:33
But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully 2 Corinthians 9:6

Basically, my days are not determined on whether I feel up to it or not, whether I feel creative or not, the more I sow (dump out ideas, record whatever, whether good or not) and keep my focus/attention on the Lord it'll just come naturally. No need to feel down because I can trust the He'll provide if He will it. If not, that's fine. I don't think much of it, just move forward with the same belief and continue working. How can one who puts in effort not get any type of result regardless of belief, ya know? Plus, the pressure is alleviated for me because of who I put my Trust in so I'm not all too worried about days when I'm down and out.

I know this sounds like a preachy/over-exaggerated answer but hey, it's what keeps me going and I'm just being true to myself! lol

#

What do you expect out of a group like this?
I've been out of the game for a while now and up until now I haven't been able to truly put my best foot forward. It's funny because, I was already in this group a while back but due to circumstances in life I had to put a hard stop on my YouTube journey. I was in the middle of creating probably one of, if not, the biggest project I have ever taken on up until now and in the script I had it written that the character "JT" (literally me lmao) would forgo a transformation in character. From being a compulsive, irresponsible, man-child to a full fledge functioning member of society. Honestly was made as a nod/to fit the mold of an on-going inside joke within the anime niche community of a weeb becoming a functioning member of society. Little did I know, life actually played out that way for me in real life. I legit had to forcefully change a ton of things in my life after leaving the group and boy did I learn a lot as to who I actually was up until now. Joining this group is my way of putting my best foot forward and moving even closer towards the new goals I've created in this ever evolving journey we call life lol Also, whether I am able to join this group or not, it will not change my goals. I will still continue on!

Thank you to everyone that applied to join the Llamas! The group spent the weekend discussing applications and who they thought would be the best fits for the group. There was a lot of conversation and we were torn between multiple people, but we settled on three to bring into the group. I've already reached out to those three in dms. For the rest of you, feel free to apply again when we have more spots in the future. We'd be happy to consider you again!
