#My shorts are getting extremly underwhelming results.

Looking at your channel, it just feels random? There's no consistency to what you post. How is youtube supposed to figure out who your audience is if you don't even know who you want to cater to?
Beyond that, your stuff is just clips. It's one of the easiest things people can pump into a short. Nothing that you're doing is any different than what thousands and thousands of other channels do. What's there to be interested about?
You need to figure out what it is that's interesting about how you create content and inject that into your videos.
Ok, so esencialy what you are saying is how to improve my content. Here is why that WONT work. Youtbe knows evrything it knows about a chanell based on statistics. Theese statistics are aquired by a "seed audience" wich is essencialy 5+ people depending on your size that youtbe reccomends the video to. If they like the video it gets pushed out another wave and so on. If they dont it doesnt. But how am I supposed to make sure I get to the second wave if I cant even get a seed audience! This is not a joke I am not getting a seed audience in most of my videos, two did, and they are sitting at 950 and 1600 view rn. The rest are all from search feature, sharing the video and alts, so there is that. @pliant edge
Alts? You're watching your own stuff with alt accounts?
On two accounts, my videos get recomended sometime but dont worry it doesnt effect anything bc I tested not watching it on any alt or main I have and it got 0 views.
I actually think bodyshot is right here. You gotta focus on one type of content and make it good, not pumping out random slop
Alrighty
Youtube doesn't always push a video out immediately. Sometimes it takes awhile to get picked up. The problem with just doing random content is that youtube is trying to push your stuff to the same audience that liked your other stuff. When you have a wednesday clip video, a random toy video, and skiing stuff, youtube will try to push that stuff into the same market.
That market isn't going to be receptive to all three types of videos and youtube is going to understand that as either:
A.) Your video is bad
B.) It needs to recalibrate who to show your stuff to
well I thought of that. My best preforimng video is a skiing video, so what do I do? I pump out several skiing videos and ABSOULTLEY nothing happend
Like, for awhile I did gacha content and that was doing fine. I got bored of it and swapped to doing video essays on Telltale games and it took awhile for the algorithm to realize-
"Oh! His stuff isn't for gacha fans anymore!"
Then it pushed it to the right audience, and even then I still need my videos to outperform other similar videos for youtube to keep feeding it views
They can just be bad videos
Its much better then the one I made with 1600 views
Shorts need much higher retention rates
How many views are on either of those?
And HOW am I supposed to get a better sample size
oh thats right
by imporving stats
done that
but not they are unreliable
yeah.. exept mcdonalds janitors get payed more then probably 95% of monetized folks here
You've only been making stuff since July. If you're already this rattled, you're not going to have a great time
Youtube is NOT easy money
Oh no, i just like to complain, been doing that since the second video 😊 Nah but fr, I am gonna keep grinding no matter what, doesnt mean I wil enjoy it thu.
The only reason beeng my results
Do you know how this chanell has 280 subscribers?
Thats right I had a really nice chanell before on it, it was a would you rather and I got 30 subs evry video I made in 10 minutes.
Ok?
Now I felt ashamed of that slop so I deleted it all
And now im ashamed I deleted that slop
bc that slop is better then 4 hours of my work
It just sounds like you want to put in less and less work for more and more reward
In that case, go ahead
No.. that means I did that and it worked
now I am doing the opposite for less reward
so I might try and push more towards would you rathers
Time and effort doesn't equate to quality though
You need to actually know what you're putting your time into
I do thu.. I ran over 5 chanells so far. Most of them didnt get far bc I quit early, but their stats were bloody amazing compared to now
That includes video game edits, real life edits, long forms, gaming
So why do you keep dropping them?
I did
Now I wont
For refrence that was in a span of 3 years
So I see all I have gotten from this convo is that making slopp is better then my current content so ill make more slop ig?
I won't stop you
That's your choice to make, not mine
Well it is my choise but this is why I made a feedback thread, I have no idea what to pick so I need advice
You dont have to give me an entire plan
All I want is a yes or no
Thats it
Then I will do with that info accordingly
You dont have to ofcourse but seeng you are a bigger creator I would be gratefull for advice
The reason I'm not the person you should be asking is because I personally do not enjoy the content you make nor the content you plan to make afterwards because I am not your audience. My opinion isn't valuable in this matter because what you want to make is up to you
My advice only goes so far. What you actually make is your thing
So yout opinion is I should make content I enjoy watching myself
thats... aucaly pretty good adivce
Yes
More people share your tastes than you realize. As long as your consistent about what you like, people will come to watch if you can get better at packaging it
but ik you wont agree, until I get a sizable audience of a few hundred subscibers more I simpily odnt think its worth putting in as much work so im gonna do the would you rathers and other stuff like that and slowly pivot towards higher quality content later when I have guaranteed views (more or less) no matter what I post so it will be easier to make that switch
thank you for all
I wouldn’t say you’re thinking about YouTube in the right way tbh.
I have a few active channel all over 1000+ subs all monetized. My number one course of action before I even launch a new channel is the content plan, and the formulas. What will my videos be like (style wise) and for the most part topic ((my channels are broken up via gaming genre, ones RPG's, ones Souls-likes, ones a more general gaming commentary channel etc). And each channel follows specific formulas that I've figured out I like making through the years, for instance; my main channel does "I Played Every X Game Ever Made" while my alt does "I Played 3 X games that X" (I played 3 souls games that I overlooked etc). This helps not only my audience understand exactly what I make, helps me consistently recreate similar experiences, but also helps youtube build the audience profile to know who to push each video to. Specifically on my shorts, every single short is on the same topic (skyrim modded) so they get a really nice early push from that audience profile early and then can take off a bit from there. Comparing it to your shorts, half of it is pop culture, or random clips, would you rathers, skiiing, etc. What do you want your channel to be about? It doesnt make sense to me, let alone a viewer.
There's not a single reason anyone has motivation to subscribe to your channel based on those points. The content doesnt even feature you as a creator, so youre not pulling in personality subs either.
It looks like you made a YouTube channel because you wanted to have a popular YouTube channel. Not because you had anything unique or personal and creative to SAY.
It takes time to find that seed audience but it's never gonna happen if you post a TV clip, then a list of skiing things, then what looks like security footage.
Honestly. I don't mean this In a mean way but why are you making content? What are you trying to do?
You don't have to be an ✨artiste✨ about it but you need to have a genre to build an audience.
I am doing this difrently and yk. I thought it was gonna be all bad, but for some reason overnight basicly a loot of my videos got some views, one of them got a seed audience, another is getting pushed a second wave (at 170 views rn) and I think its a seed audience as well bc unlike before when 4% of the views were from the shorts feed now 44% of them are from the past 60 minutes that is. Also a bunch of my videos got like 10-20 views overnight wich means the alghoritm might aucaly push one or a few of my vids
You can do whatever you want obviously, but if youre gonna ask for feedback and then tell people who are giving you very valid points "iom doing this differently" then I dont see the point of a feedback post.
