My AVD is 35%.

I believe my video is engaging and informative.
I heard a good AVD is 60%. So as a long term goal, I want to move closer to that figure in the future.

Here the video for reference: https://youtu.be/jyuLDduxd2s

What are some pointers for me to improve? Thanks!

Don’t worry, I gotchu with the links!

Make sure to choose (for airpods pro 2 best ANC)!
And listing shows a silicone case so it doesn’t get taken down :)

You've got a small amount of views on the video so hard to extrapolate too much but like I was saying on that other feedback thumbnail post I think that audio differences are jarring at least it was for me. That was like my only complaint with the video

#

Also avd will probably vary a lot because of length of videos. Some people just don't have a long attention span. If you have a 5 hour long video and get 33% avd that's amazing as each person on average is watching over 1.5 hours of your video but like if it's a 5 minute video with 33% that's obviously not ideal as people are only willing to watch about 1.5 minutes on average of your content before wanting to leave it

I think while your delivery in itself is pretty engaging, there are two things that I've found pretty jarring while watching.

  1. The way every shot is so shaky makes it very unpleasant to look at. It's actually giving me a bit of motion sickness. So, I'd imagine that other people might be put off from that too. So, I'd suggest not moving around so much all the time and instead using zoom ins, etc. if you wanna emphasize something.

  2. You need to clean up your audio. The sibilance (meaning, "s" and "f" sounds, so letters that are have a sharp sound) is very prominent. To clean that up, you'd need to use a de-esser. If you are in davinci resolve, there is a de-esser included in fairlight. I'd guess that's true for other editing programs too. Just don't overdo it when you use it, or else you will give yourself a lisp. You could also clean it up with an EQ, the s-sounds are usually somewhere between 5khz and 8khz, depending on the tone of your voice. But a de-esser is usually the better tool, as it only affects that frequency when it is needed.

Ultimately, I don't think the thumbnail is the biggest issue, but I still want to discuss it.

I looked at other thumbnails on this topic and didn't find any of them particularly appealing. The top thumbnail has too much text, which is illegible. And the AirPods blend into the background. The thumbnail on the bottom is simple, but the colors don't make sense. Why is the background for the fake AirPods green, and the real ones orange?

The same is true for your thumbnail btw.

I then came across this video. It's not a fake vs. real comparison, but it's still about Airpods. And the thumbnail is so much better and could work for your type of video as well if you just replace the text. The earphones are clearly separated from the background, the colors look nice, and the thumbnail looks high quality. This might not be the vibe you're going for. But this is, objectively, a better thumbnail than the other ones.

Anyway, the biggest problem with the video you posted is that the shots are not clean enough. Things are constantly shaking. The light is not uniform or pleasant. You're holding the Airpods too close to the camera, to the point of them being out of focus.

#

There are also audio issues, as was also mentioned by others

#

I personally noticed the music at the start of the video. Like it sounds way too messy and chaotic at 0:15, for example

there is just a lot of movement on screen with how your hand moves. especially because you always have your hand moving down from the top which just makes it very stressful to watch
