What do you think about this thumbnail?

Could I get some feedback on this thumbnail, the game is an incremental short story game about digging a hole. Thank you!

this is actually quite nice and captures attention but if it is not scary then i dont understand why the need for the shocked face, if you do want to include a face on the shovel then make it a tired one would make more sense

If I'm honest, I have no idea what's going on.jn this thumbnail... It kinda looks like you just added a red arrow because thumbnails have those sometimes?

Also I don't know why you are the shovel, that seems odd. Is part of the game being turned into a shovel?

You might get clicks from absurdity, but beyond that I couldn't say for sure. Also, you should remember that if people don't get the video a thumbnail is selling them, they are likely to leave the video without watching much of it at all. (I recently learned this the hard way)

Just thought it would catch the eye, on analysis of similar thumbnails for this game, the ones that do well have the arrow. Just following the trend really, i get the hesitation though. The title of the video is going to be "I AM THE SHOVEL" because that is the name of the last upgrade and i thought it was funny. Thats where the relavancy comes in. Definitely include your title idea when asking for Thumbnail feedback, that does help a bit. Those two are a package deal (until YouTube finally hides video titles forever at least)

Hey hey, I'd increase the size and brightness of the face. I agree with @short pumice that the emotion doesn't make much sense, but as long as there's a strong emotion I'd say it should be eyecatching. I'd also paste a small shoveling cartoon character or whatever figure and put the real face on it instead as this is a bit confusing, at least for me. Also, the picture of the face is obviously not professional which gives the whole thumbnail an unprofessional vibe, maybe a better lit picture would do it. Or just playing around in editing to make it bright, clear and pop. Otherwise I like that theres not too many colours, text and overall clutter.

I agree with the previous comments, and my suggestion would've been to make the shovel bigger and to stretch the face to fill it completely 😄 I don't know if this helps, hope it's not offensive, had best intentions 😊
