I’m really bad at making thumbnails and want to get better and wanted to know if I’m heading in the right direction.

So the smaller text will be non existent on smaller displays. I recommend using https://thumbsup.tv/ to see how the thumbnail looks at all potential resolutions.

I would personally add a stroke in a different color around the text. Also im not sure how well the actual thumbnail will come across in feeds and if its legible or not.

Agreed with Scoop here. I always sit far back from my screen and try see if the text is legible. If not, remove it. That's why adding a stroke and/or shadow helps it stand out
