Brand new editing method, changed things up a tad!!

Things to Note

  • this isn’t the actual video
  • you def don’t need to watch the full hour!!
  • it’s a new editing style focusing on more flow while keeping my cut style
  • I have a minor mic issue and while it should not be a major issue, clipping can happen (it just want fixed during recording)
  • title/thumbnail isn’t real lol

Questions

  • how is the flow?
  • can you follow along?
  • is it entertaining?
  • if no, what’s losing your interest?

Thank you so so so much!!

For brief answers to your questions:
How is the flow- it’s fine
Can I follow along- Yes it’s easy to follow
Is it entertaining- Its not my kind of content so its hard to say without being biased

For the longer answers:
How is the flow- I only watched a few different parts of the video and everything flowed at a consistent and active pace. If you’re okay with viewers playing your video in the background while they do other things than this is good enough. But if you want them to actively follow along then I feel like having things to disrupt the pace will help the video be more engaging to watch. As an example one of the parts I watched you were trying to fix an elevator and weren’t sure where to go, then you cut to the part where you find a door you had overlooked. Instead of making that one clean cut, you could speed up the recording of you looking around with some appropriate fast forward sound effects (I don’t think that would ruin the tone of the video, but maybe you disagree?). It wouldn’t take up much more time and would disrupt the pace while visual and audio cues of what’s happening. Though, it would be a lot more editing time to do things like that throughout the whole video. You’d also have to be careful to not do the same thing too many times or it’ll be redundant and boring. So a variety of edits is key.

I feel like this same thing could help with the entertainment value too. Like I said before its not my kind of content so I’m mostly guessing here, but having those more active edits can make the video feel more engaging to viewers.

I hope this answers what you’re looking for. If you want me to elaborate on something let me know!

Thank you so much Bery!! Ok I’ll go through and respond in bits!!

  • Great! Ok! Then I’ll keep this middle ground editing style!!
  • I see, change up the pace and switch up the vibe with a few more edits in some sections to make the video more “visually watchable.” I do change the pacing at some moments, but only in slowing down the edits. I started cutting the “boring segments” out without any hesitation but a little more editing could have saved them! That’s a really good idea to use speeding up to keep eye time!! I can do that!! I don’t think it’ll ruin the tone as much as be a sharp change in it (that the audience might appreciate instead of me cutting out the long wandering section). I could add it maybe once or twice if the video needs it! Anymore would only work as a bit, which might lower the engagement. (“oh this game must be boring because Luna has to fast forward 7x”)

Thank you so much again! I would never have thought of that! I really appreciate your in depth review!! Ah!

Hey gamer boy swag! Thanks for the review! Let me break it down!

  • I see, this doesn’t seem to be your type of video. I mean this with all respect, but my high energy and high enthusiasm is just my actual irl personality. I’m a ball of bubbles! 🥳 it’s OK that this isn’t your type of video or your cup of tea. It def doesn’t have to be!
  • Ok so everything is fine! Great! Then I’ll take this as a great video technically speaking but not your cup of tea!

Thank you for the review!!

So off the rip "Over the top high energy reactions" and the like of comments made similar are subjective. This isnt my type of content however Its not difficult to give some meaningful feedback.

So during opening talking :10 - :14 the background music kind of bled in with your voice it was a little distracting for me.

Some nitpicking that probably isnt a huge issue but sometimes clicks from mouse are picked up.

Flow seems fine Im able to keep up with the story and you are talking the entire time vs people just staying quiet during gameplay so the action is kept up the entire time so thats a positive.

Entertaining is up to your potential audience but I would argue for people who like interactive/talkative creators then this is right up their alley. I think where this content could shine is potentially streaming playthroughs like this then chopping it up.

As far as losing interest for me personally you kept the same energy through out so thats a non issue. For me personally it might be "too long" I personally prefer like 20-45minute range for content but thats just my viewing interests. I do think maybe outside of diehard fans/audience sitting down for 1hour might be a hard ask but not impossible.

I do think a potential test you can do is this type of cut where small things are cut out(I assume) and you have the entire story start to finish and its all wrapped up.

The other test you could do is like a "super cut" where you chop maybe 20-50% of the "dull moments" not calling you or the content dull but in theme of keeping the same energy you presented during the intro there are some parts of the game that dont live up to that "hype" and thats to be expected in most games.
