#What can you tell me about why this has happened?

Think of impressions as potential viewers. Its the amount of people who saw your thumbnail.
A view is counted as soon as someone clicks on your thumbnail.
Pretty normal. Some videos take 12-16hours for me to hit algorithim some take a few days.
Its youtube "finding" the audience for your video. Inherently some topics will have less interest/less searchability which leads to low impressions and low views.
Fascinating, so I should expect this graph to fluctuate like this?
So why do you think the bump stopped?
Did YT stop pushing it higher in the search?
Like how does that stuff work
@winged shale also what are your thoughts on using shorts and TikTok’s to route to long form?
Ya itll fluctuate this is mine for about two weeks itll eventually hit its peak.
Youtube decided thats about the size of your potential audience.
🤷♂️ if we knew getting views/subs would be easy and the average person could have a following.
Theres very little overlap between shorts viewers and subs and longform viewers and subs. There are a few exceptions but for the average person they dont mix. As far as tiktok no idea never used it.
I see
@winged shale So it's just like random bumps
Like what made your vid bump then stagnate then bump again? Is there like anything that actually changed?
at low sample size its "random" due to youtube trying to find your audience. In general its a combination of things.
Fascinating
Nope just uploaded and left as is.
So just upload more
interesting
is
how 2 get more views n impressionz
Like it bumped mine after I changed some keywords
then it stagnated again so i changed again a ton of times and now its just like the same version as it was that got its initial bump
so I thought it had something to do w that
Some topics inherently wont be as popular so low impressions low views.
Impressions are just people who see your thumbnail. So if you have high impression but low CTR(click through rate which is the % of actual people who clicked on it) then you have a title+thumbnail issue.
with some caveats that is.
Your title+thumbnail are what drive ctr. If 100 people see your thumbnail you have 100 impressions. If 1 person clicked it you have a 1% CTR.
Youtube gets all the info for your video when its uploading based on the words you say. Title makes it more "searchable" but in reality your title is working in tandem with your thumbnail to get someone to click the video.
I see i see
But since that bump in impressions is 95% from searches, I'd assume it has to do with the title?
Bruh this is so intersectional
I mean people are searching minecraft mods so thats were the bump is coming from. The specific mod is where the niche within a niche thing comes in. Theres only so much of audience with that topic.
If you have a audience going "narrow" isnt a big deal.
If you are trying to grow a audience sometimes you want to be "wider"
Either way if the quality is there you will bring "repeat viewers" and thats a good metric to aim for.
Tags are 99.9% of the time worthless.
Tags are for mispelled topics like "desert" and "dessert"
Subtitles are more of a Quality of life thing for possible people in your community that are hard of hearing or maybe if your accent is "strong"
Description isnt a big deal. Aim for 1-3sentences at most, credits for CC music / sources used for research. Put as much or as little as you want. Theres 99 things more important than description.
lets say i have 2 vids and the most recent one (uploaded 3 days ago) is doing much much better than the first that was uploaded 2 weeks ago. I plan on uploading a third within the next three days. What should I put effort into specifically about getting impressions? Just title and thumbnail?
Gotchas
Gotcha*
Title and thumbnail that'll get people to click, and content that'll get people to watch from start to finish
10-4
So not every video will perform "well" at any given time you will have a "worst" video.
Every part of the video is important and you should focus on things you can control.
At a basic level you dont control impressions so you move onto the next thing.
Thumbnail+title is what drive your CTR
A strong 20-30second intro/hook that HOOKS the viewer into giving the video a shot.
Then Substance. Does the video keep the same quality from that intro/hook from start to finish.
so if 44% of my viewers are watching past 30 seconds thats solid right
So this is about AVD and it changers per length of video but 44% seems low. What does the retention graph say.
Retention graph will say above/below average
Abobe typical means above your video's average
Alright so compared to your content 44% is higher than your average.
Retention graphs give alot of info. You wont keep everyone the whole video and thats fine. Where you can tell issues a part is if theres a spike at 1:15 that means somethere there made people click off.
So what would be a good analysis of this one?
Also is longer content better?
If more peeps watch the whole thing
i assume so
but idk stats
Length of content isnt say all be all. If you have a 3minute banger of a video through and through , and a 40minute boring video the 3 minute video will outperform.
So the intro will always have the biggest click off because thats the persons look into the content. Not every click on your video is your audience. Think about yourself have you ever clicked on a video then clicked off within 30seconds? Same concept.
great idea.
Yes, but the best trick is to have your videos as long as they need to be
That's what I'm thinkin
what can this be attributed to. blue graph is most recent upload, purple is from upload 2 weeks ago
Nothing. Small sample size dont look into it.
gotcha

✅ : Great
☑️ : Good
❌ : Work on this
⚪ : Not Applicable
There are three review tiers (and a tier 0) and the review itself will vary depending on the tier:
Tier 1 : There's a major issue that needs addressed! No stress, but this needs to be fixed first before I can give a full, fair review!
Tier 2 : Not a bad video, but there's some room for improvement! I'm going to give pointers and some notes.
Tier 3 : Pffffttt, why did you even drop this video here? You're golden dear. I might give a pointer, but all in all, this won't be a full review.
Tier 0 : I genuinely believe some critical aspect of content creation is missing here. Passion, seriousness, dedication, etc. I'll say as such.

I think you did an amazing job! It's a great video overall!
Quality wise, since that was your main question, I think its good quality! Its a pretty crisp video with high literal quality! I also think this is a very engaging and entertaining video overall so its a high quality video imo!!
You could work on:
❌----- Sound levels
- Aka, normalize your audio make sure its not too loud! Your video is too loud. Look into loudness normalization in whatevr software you use. Audiacity is free if you nered an audio editing software!!)
❌----- Curiosity
❌----- Contrast
- Thumbnails are HARD. You nailed the whimsy aspect, but seeing a pretty thing does not make me want to click. It reminds me of a similar video though that had the phrase "This is MINECRAFT?!" I believe in the title or thumbnail. Because f ti, he was able to get away with just showing how pretty the shot is. But since theres no immediate call to realize the pretty image is minecraft you're losing me.
- In short, theres not enough to catch my curisoity or enoughto show me what the video is exactly
❌----- The Outro
❌----- Calls to Action
❌----- Branding Elements
- For these my issue was using a TON of assets for comedic or dramatic effect. I love that you have an amzing sense iof humour!! But becareful because i think a few of those assets ARE copyright.
- Using them ffor your outro seems very "you-ish" and very "your-vibe" which i absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE! It shows personality!! I am however worried that the ding dound effect is copyright from Swim.
Wowowowo
@hazy falcon
Lemme take a gander at this
This is great
did you make this
❌----- Sound levels (Do your ears bleed? Is it too quiet? Perhaps both?)
for my records***

phenomenal
thank you!!!!!!!!
Imma tweak sound levels
and edit branding stuff
