#THUMBNAIL HELP
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
i played mc in a mode without natural regeneration and killed all the bosses and mini bosses in the game
my personal fav is the last one but eh
3 in my opinion
hits all the right notes that the algorithm seems to love showing
alternatively 2 but make the half heart a bit bigger and make the text stand out a bit more
and make the "day 200" text look different to "day 100" like make it red or something to emphasise the change
@dusty ingot
thanks a bunch 😄
first
the two sides keeps it organized and just enough text
the day 100 thingy making it too convoluted
ya im a 1 or 3 thumbnail guy but leaning towards 1 if the title conveys the idea.
it's gonna be a 100 days no regen ultra hardcore killing all bosses thing
so you can title it "Killing EVERY MOB without Healing - Minecraft Ultra Hardcore"
u can also add a #2 at the end to indicate it has a part one and link a playlist
nah, gotta add 200 or a number to hit with the algorithmn right?
thanks scoop
not really no
but if u want to u can
algorithm doesn't just read title it reads your thumbnail, description and your video content
just a number by itself no
100 can be because there's so many 100 days challenges
200 is not really searched specifically I'd reckon
u can add it though
whatcha think of the 4th one though @dusty ingot ?
i like it zoomed in but it may feel too confusing when people would see it in the suggestions tab
because the thumbnail becomes super small in the suggestions tab
this line of thinking makes the whole thumbnail irrelevant
a number is better because it's more eye catching and attention grabbing
more so than e.g. a minecraft hardcore logo, not that it's bad but people tend to gloss over it more, your brain doesn't really register it, while a number you do
especially since loads of youtube thumbnails use the exact same minecraft hardcore logo
I replied to his question of whether a number is needed to hit the algorithm. The answer is no, because algorithm doesn't just depend on one thing toggled on or off
a good thumbnail is good for the algorithm because more people will see it and click it
which boosts performance in the algorithm
and also the number is not more eye catching than the hardcore logo, it's grey and without texture
Yes thats how ctr works. Its a combination of title and thumbnail. The "200 days" will not make or break the thumbnail.
again you're twisting the question
that's why i said it should be changed to be more eye catching
he asked is 200 necessary to hit the algorithm
i said no
never said anything about a good or bad thumbnail
nothing is necessary to hit the algorithm
well topic searchability and demand is
you can find plenty of examples of videos with no descriptions, bad titles, etc that get millions of views
but basically yes it's wrong to always think of youtube as the algorithm you gotta hit. It's better to think of youtube as viewers you gotta get attention of
you can get attention of people in many ways, that includes just a black thumbnail with no title
soooooo should i make it colorful?
i might put 1, 3, then 4 inside of youtube thumbnail test
you can see what other hard core peeps are doing and copy that for the numbers and textures
nice
