#First impression falling flat.. thumbnail/title

Sure! In the sims you can build your own houses & community lots. So, a speed build will be a full build at about 6x the speed, with some commentary. My potential audience is the cozy gaming community looking for something chill to have on while they play so they don’t feel alone. Something a little different about me than other streamers is that it’s pretty mellow the entire time so it’s not super in your face and distracting.. while also having super detailed/realistic builds.
Looking at other Sims speedbuild videos, your title and thumbnail seem pretty similar
Maybe try changing the contrast / saturation to make the colours a little brighter / darker
Something to make you stand out a little more
Maybe there's just alot of competition so people are just clicking channels they already know
Maybe the video is being pushed to the wrong audience
Just refine and trial different titles and thumbnails, remember you can change these even after posting too
Ok gotcha. So I would assume sims 4 is pretty popular so its not a low view niche so thats positive.
Does the average player know what a speed build is? Normally I've heard of the term speedrun but never speed build.
I feel like it's something that people in that community would know, it's similar to speed art if you've seen videos like that
Yea the top creators are still going strong so I don’t think it’s a dead niche. Plus there are multiple new dlcs every couple of months
Here's a few things I can think of:
- The title doesn't seem too bad. Maybe a little shorter so people can see it in full would be even better, but I don't think that it's as big of a deal as it looks
- The thumbnail's background is a bit too saturated/takes a bit too much of the spotlight. If you look in the 2nd picture, the "lofi speed build" is a bit hard to read
- You've correctly identified who your potential audience is, and I'm surprised that no one pointed out the biggest issue with your video compared to the others: its length. They are doing something else at the same time, they want something to chill as they do something else. That means that ideally, they want something that they can click on let it play for some time while they do something else at the same time. Shorter videos means that they have to break their flow more frequently to get their next video.
Maybe switch up Lofi to cozy? Might resonate to more people. But the good news is its popular niche like you said so growth is entirely possible.
Looking at similar creators their version of speedbuilds shows the house/property's final rendition i would assume. I think having a main object to focus on would help bring in viewers because your eye is dragged to the background.
I think that keeping Lofi in the thumbnail is fine since you already have cozy in the title, and it looks like the music used for the speedbuild isn't rare to be said in either one of the 2. Main priority should be to make the smaller text more legible
I thought about length too, I went for shorter this time since it was my first one back but my next video is 25 mins. I could potentially go longer but I feel like that might be a sweet spot
Landed on this design. For me personally, I like to show the build but if it doesn’t work, it doesn’t work 🤷♀️ i think I’ll try this formula for a little while and see if it does better. Sim + title + blurry background
Still open to feedback 🤎
Thank y’all for everything so far
Keep on keeping on 👍 I like the addition of the sim
This is next weeks video, I’m really hoping to set it out with the most potential. The timing will be really good for my niche
Oooh i like the idea perfect time for october.
I like both. Huge improvement and it honestly gives a distinct style compared to the others you've shown
