Hi!

I have a personal development channel & I believe my content is OK, but there is something missing. Sometimes I wonder if I am relatable enough. The highest CTR I’ve had is 5.2% and most viewed video is 3200 views. I notice videos under 15 min do well in retention which ranges between 40%-50%, but the views are still low on those. Not sure if my content is boring, not valuable, not relatable, typical advice. I’ve experimented with text on thumbnails and no text and the thumbnails with no text tend to do better. I try to make the title and thumbnails intriguing to the viewers without being too “bait and switch”. So any tips, feedback, brutal advice would be appreciated! #997538991215747153

To be fair, I think a lot of it is just YouTube declining. It used to be a good platform for educational and value added content. Now, you don’t really see breakout from these kind of creators very much. It’s really shifted to mostly entertainment content now and the majority of demographic it attracts doesn’t seem to care much about anything otherwise. I hope you continue pushing and reach your niche

just going off what Alerix said, I think self help videos-which are valuable, dont really foster a staying audience unless you really pusha and market yourself as a lifestyle-guru. and a lot of creators like that flourish in short-form platforms. I watched some of your vids and I think youre very likeable. your messages are delivered well

but yeah Aerix is right that yt shifted towards entertainment. Idk if you wanna branch out but I think making videos about stuff youre interested in could help.Talking head videos like these are good for background noise, and self help is a weird one where it requires the viewer to be attentive.

like this kind of content, almost. I say if you like what you do try your hand at shorts or tiktok

Hi! Yes I’ve been thinking about this for a while now that it doesn’t seem that people are wanting to improve their daily life these days. Given everything going on in the world, people are so burnt out from everyday life that when they get home they just want some entertainment, a good laugh and a little drama/controversy. I’ve made one video around these lines which was basically talking about the new Snow White Disney movie. I enjoyed it despite the fact that it does take more research and time. I made it 7 months ago if you want to check it out. “Disney Wants To Be A Girl Boss”. I’ll most likely continue on my path with self improvement, but I’ll also try out another channel similar to Mina Le. Plus I think it could be a great way for me to learn more about various topics. I do love to challenge the popular opinion. Do you have any advice if I do take this entertainment route?
