Hi guys. First of all thanks for taking the time to read this and helping out.

Specifically seeking your thoughts on the intro of this video: https://youtu.be/emCVCyIgZDQ?si=iIta1kirCxrNvS87

  • E.g., thoughts on pace, and does it make you interested to see the whole video?
  • Also, do you think the title of the video is relevant and effective - or would you name it something else?
  • Any other thoughts also welcomed, ofc.

Cheers for giving off your valuable time to offer feedback and thoughts. Have a lovely day ahead.

Today we're at Salt Meats Cheese for a cocktail class. And as we often do, we are competing to see who's the best - with a punishment for the loser!

The experience was so much fun, and we would highly recommend it to anyone. And as part of the classes, they also include food - which is so yummy, and which we'll come back for!

And the two drin...

I thought the pacing was good! I'm not very interested in cocktails atm, so I'm not the right audience. Is this for people who want to make cocktails at home?

Well, so that's the thing and our main challenge in developing any followership or "consistency". Our channel is kinda just a slice of life of us where we do all kinds of activities and challenges against each other. And so, yeah you could say that this video is geared towards learning to make cocktails and to get the word out of this activity that others also could do in our area (Gold Coast) - but at the same time it's also slightly "vlog-ish" and videos that make sense to us as a couple, but doesn't necessarily engage many others.

We're trying to find some kind of balance there. Ultimately we're only doing YouTube because it enhances our lives and relationships (i.e., not doing it for views or subscribers) and its an extension of our relationship/lives, but at the same time ofc nice if it could serve some value to others, such as inspiring couples to get more off the couch and explore their communities and wonders.

That's awesome that you have Youtube for your creative outlet!

I'm thinking of doing horror stuff for my content so I will suggest you two stay overnight at a haunted house and film it 😆

I actually watched the whole thing.

#

The pacing is good.

#

It also has this "good feels" energy. The video is relaxing.

#

And both of you look cute together.

#

However, I'm not the kind of person that watches vlogs and I only watched it because you posted it here.

#

Something I want to point out is that it was a good idea that you put subtitles. I know they are a pain to make, but they actually help for people which English is not their first language.

#

A lot of people can read English, but they can't understand it spoken.

#

Regarding the title, before I played the video, I thought that the video was 2 hours and I didn't want to sink 2 hours of my time watching it, until I realized it is like 15 minutes.

#

The thumbnail I think is fine, but I think you should look for someone else's opinion about that.

#

The content itself I think it achieves its purpose, it is a very relaxed, slice of life vlog.

#

Now if you ask me why it doesn't have many views, I have no idea.

#

I thought in the English speaking community vlogs were kind of dead. Like they are not relevant anymore.

#

But don't take my word for that one, that's my perception, because I don't watch vlogs.

#

Supposedly the key to achieve success on Youtube is to make good videos, but lately I've been finding videos like this one that are quite decent but don't take off.

#

I don't know...

I wouldn't burn subtitles into the video and I would simply use the CC option. The only exception I can think of is at the intro of the video or when you want to emphasize a sentence in the middle of the video.

#

If you are like me, probably you burned the subtitles because you think people don't know about the CC option...

#

or maybe... you think it makes the video look more aesthetic.

#

Despite of that, I don't think subtitles burned into the video are necessary.
