I'm curious if the intro is engaging enough, too long, etc.
Is the music too loud, too quiet?
Any other thoughts?
I made a couple mistakes, but I'm thinking I might just roll with them at this point. Unless there's a major issue I'm thinking I'll just make notes for next time

I really liked your voice and music is fine though the video kind felt slow for 8min video.
Two ways I would improve is #
1.Do more like top 10 or countdown list of each games till you get to your best or worst. You choose
2.I would choose only 1 unique part of the game and one thing you did not like to hope speed up the video.
Those are at least my thoughts keep up the good work and maybe rework your thumbnail (still new at that too)

I agree I'm definitely struggling with my scripts. Still trying to find a "voice" so to speak. I'm assuming that just comes with practice and time. Gotta try to improve every video haha.

I also wanted to jump in and add that editing will create a feedback loop that helps with your scripting. Find an editing style of someone you like, emulate it to begin with, and develop your own thing from there.
This won't necessarily make the ideation or first draft phase easier, but what I'm saying is that you create create a workflow like; script draft 1 -> record -> edit draft 1 -> script draft 2 -> re-record as necessary -> edit draft 2 ; this will help get your videos laser focused. (of course, the order/necesity of each step changes per video type eg. challenge videos usually do recording first)

That makes sense though. Eventually I would assume if you get good at replicating someone's style, you'll eventually be able to make it your own
It's odd because I barely have any impressions so far on this video. They're taking quite a while to come in. People don't seem to be staying on the video for super long so maybe the intro isn't clicking for people

Make the content that you think is good, but present it in a way that's familiar ; Youtube can find your audience much more easily if your style is (at least initially) similar to other channels

Honestly, I just think the vid itself was a dud; that sounds extremely harsh, but compare that to your mk8 vid; it has more views partly because its much more interesting on a conceptual level, hearing your opinion on the best tracks in the game is something I'm interested in because I want to see how it compares to my own opinions

No worries at all. I don't think that's too harsh. That's good information for me. I'm trying to make videos people want to watch so that's actually pretty helpful
I guess from the perspective of a random viewer it might be a tougher sell to be like "ok this random guy is trying some games" VS "this popular creator is trying out some games" so it makes sense in hindsight.
I think I'll likely just start trying a larger variety of videos, to see what ideas might stick.
Faster turn around time, different feel/concept and just try a bunch of different styles

Honestly? I would try more mk8 videos; your first was your most successful vid ever, so doing more of what was successful will probably lead you to more success

you don't have to be just some random guy; you have a USP, you. You're the only person on earth that has the exact combination of traits, skills, opinions and interests that you do, so make that work to your advantage

the data is already out there; look for channels with a small number of subscribers (<50k) but a video/videos with high view counts (100k+) , that will tell you the types of things that are working for small creators to blow up

That makes sense! I'll have to do some searching and see what videos seem to do well within that subset of channels.
I mainly was trying to see if I could make a variety of videos so I didn't just become a mario kart channel. But I suppose that only becomes an issue if I only made MK videos repeatedly

a 'variety channel' is MUCH more difficult to grow than a niche-specific one; because with niche videos, you're attracting an audience from that niche, but with a variety channel, people are coming to watch YOU, but they won't do that if they don't know who YOU are

Right. I guess by getting more exposure, you can resolve that issue and then take it from there.
Ideally the plan I have in my head is that I would eventually like to start streaming and continue making YouTube videos. So this would at least be a way to start approaching that.
Gain a following, and then start to transition my videos away from the games and more onto my personality
